Can also sign that the trick to getting IWD/IWD2 working on win 10 is to do nothing at all. Literally only had problems when I thought I had to use wrappers
Just for the sake of completeness; if you used the GOG version of IWD2, that one comes with wrappers already preinstalled.

So long as it is not the EE. Anything but that

What happened to BG 2 Reloaded?
Slated for late 2023 at the most recent estimate.

It's been quite a while since our last post, but we have some exciting news to share: we expect to be BETA in late spring 2023 and hope to release in the fall!
We'll also be asking for help with testing around our BETA date, so let us know if that's something you'd be interested in!

hows the difficulty?
A bit higher than the original in my experience.

speaking of EE, is there any mod/feature that makes dealing with having to sell so much junk easier? it's why I never got more than mid-game, I want to sell everything because gold is in short supply but doing so is so tedious that I end up playing something else.

Yeah, it's a feature called "not picking up every single piece of crap you find".

Or you could console in a bag of holding.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.

SUprised the Codex isn't talking about this more. Maybe someone should start a thread with some of the IE era info in it. Assuming this isn't full of woke, and they don't start trying to write, it could be good.

Then we've got the Luke Scull mods for NWN to look forward to. I'm more optimistic about those mods than I was about the Kickstarter era of games.

I want money tho.

Can you sell stuff directly from a bag of holding? or do i have to put crap in and out.

What are you crazy?

At least assuming he's already skipping non-magical stuff. If he's picking up non-magical shields/armor/weapons then he's the crazy one.

What? Am I supposed to leave them there, on the ground, and simply walk away? Forget they exist, just by clicking my fingers? While they keep staring at me?

Gold becomes a non-issue not even halfway through the game, so you shouldn't worry too much about gathering stuff to sell. All of the best equipment (with just a few exceptions) is found in the dungeons.

I haven't played IWD in ~15 years, so I decided to install EE and see what they did to the game.

Wonder if I can mod in little question marks over my Paladin and Bezerker's heads for when battles finish. They barely ever get in a swing of a sword between them before my archer has finished off the enemy. Especially now I have that +2 bow you get in the second dungeon...

That said I'm not really complaining, it's nice to revisit a fun game in a more relaxed way. Original is superior though (as per normal with Beamdog).

After all these years, this still hurts.

But...

What the fuck?
Odd. I used to read european pc gaming mags and even the first IWD was initially hit with a "they are doing this again?!?" kinda feel. NWN was looming in the horizon, already announced as a 3d, multiplayer centric game (especially after Vampire the Masquerade Redemption and its DM mode), and IE games felt extremely antiquated. The whole scene felt that. As a kid, still unwise in the ways of the world, I kinda shared that feeling. Odd that this one would feel so positive about a 2d game, which was a really rare attitude to have in that time frame.

The second quote is just the type of humor that was popular in these kind of nerd centric mags. It was bad then, and it has aged even worse.

Hef himself turned out to be well down the spectrum in retrospect. The mutant powers once manifested themselves in much more strange and various ways.

WTF? IWD2 has the most incoherent storyline of the IE games. A bunch of mercs hired to defend Targos somehow not only end up somewhere else but feels obliged to go to a tower full of demons and Epic level enemies and destroy them. When they have not even been offered payment for it.
