It's not too high level to surpass...

Rage beats the leaving crap of D3, D4 despite its flaws can do the same. It can be fun for finishing SP campaign once.

Of course it's a super fast and skill based shooter, that's why you can't even rocket jump in it.

So if DOOM has become Quake and Battlefront has become Battlefield...

What does this mean for Fallout 5?

RAGE wasn't entirely awful. If you throw out that waste of tech MEGATEXTURES, the excessive emphasis on driving, and the way they had you repeat the same maps for 'quests' you're left with an okay shooter. The ability to use wingsticks, and sentry bots, and other gadgets was a nice addition.

The open demo is a better experience, but I expect that's because people with skills who would otherwise stay away from this garbage were actually trying it out. I found it smoother to play, and that's probably thanks to the FOV slider and ability to disable motion blur. They also definitely improved mouse input.

Still pretty much all the shit that everybody is complaining about, but I can actually see what I'm shooting at this time.

So, Snapmap was John Carmack's last contribution to Doom before he left the team... also where did this thing about it being limited to four players only come from? I can't find a source on that.

Delicious Schadenfreude. Mostly Negative score with 11,5K fucking reviews can't be easily dismissed. Of course it will still probably sell like hotcakes, but at least the PR guys will have to sweat a bit this week.

Now excuse me while I replay Doom 2 with higher frame weapon animations and the remastered soundtrack.

Guys, Shillworld denizens are really triggered by our new thread title! https://www.doomworld.com/vb/doom-2...-quake-fanboys-kill-the-pc-version-of-doom/4/
Rofl they've been vitriolic about this game since page 1, two years ago. I don't think Doom4 is the best thing since sliced bread, but it's always looked at least decent. GG to them for being the stereotypical cancerous gamer crowd, though.
RPGCodex is one of the laughing stocks of the internet. Basically, their hate for Doom is the result of hatred they hold for everything Bethesda-related ever since Fallout 3 turned out to be neither isometric nor turn based. Not to mention that place is known for insane amounts of toxicity and bigotry.
Holy shit, those guys are worse than the League community that I ditched for being toxic. I didn't think it was possible.

Lol, we're being called the laughing stock of the internet by people who were literally so butthurt that they felt the need to complain about this thread on the Doom forums.

I'm guessing self-awareness is not their strong point.

These kind of statements can only be made when triggered by an unfathomable magnitude of butthurt.
