Nearly got the civilization collection until I realized it doesn't come with Civ II. What good is a game series collection if it doesn't include the best game in the series?

It also doesn't have the Gods and Kings expansion for Civ V...some collection. You're better off just buying Civ IV and Civ III complete by themselves and waiting for the Civ V complete in a year(base game sucks, but I'm sure it will be subject to few decent mods eventually).

I think I might just get the Civ III collection for 1.24 euro just to have it on Steam. It's probably the best of the 'modern' versions and has enough mods for it to keep it worthwhile for ages.

:killit:

II > IV >> I >>> III >>>>> V

What part of 'modern' do you not understand? Besides, Civ III is still better than Civ IV, looks better, more fun to play...all subjective of course and depends on what you want. Certainly Civ III and Civ IV(civ II) all have things they do better than the other and things worse. They also all have a slightly different approach to the whole civ building thing. I actually think that's a good thing rather than just making the same game over and over. It's the same reason I like all different kinds of 4X games: sometimes you prefer a game that focuses on the combat, other times you might like the macro management. Sure Civ games aren't as varied since apart from Call to Power no-one else has tried to compete with Civ, but the same thing applies between versions somewhat.

Bro you are doing it wrong. I read somewhere on the Dex that Civ3 is shit and it was posted by some dude which reg. date was in the past century so clearly it's a shit game. Even shittier than Civ1 which is great because it's old. Like wine.

bought all the DLC nations and gods+kings for Civ V. the pack didn't contain gods+kings and I already own the other civ games so this was the cheapest alternative.
with sweden in gods+kings I can now do battle with the danes.

:hmmm:

Why did you Buy the DLC? Can you tell me if there is genuine content in them or are they purely cosmetic?

I hate Civ 5 but I bought it because of Steamworks integration.

New nations are just more of the same I suppose... I don't even remember. Unique leader traits and unique civ units I suppose?

I bought the loose DLC because:
1) heavily discounted atm (less than a euro per DLC nation)
2) able to have denmark as enemies. fuck denmark, you know?
3) one of the civs (korea I think?) came bundled with a few new early game wonder structures, something I thought was missing from vanilla.
4) was gonna buy gods+kings anyway. and MOAR IS BETTR.

Civ V DLC Babylon
0.86 EUR
Civ V DLC Double Civ Pack
1.24 EUR
Civ V Cradle of Civilization Denmark DLC
0.86 EUR
Civ V DLC - Polynesia
0.86 EUR
Civ V Korea/Wonders DLC Combo
1.24 EUR

= 5 euros. hardly a big deal.

Half an hour left on the matman bundle sale. The games are pretty entertaining and well worth the 23 eurobucks admission price.

Nice to see Grimrock won the vote. Maybe it'll tempt some dudebros into discovering the joy of blobbers.

I didn't buy Civ 5 because... it's worse than Civ 4.

:troll:

Magicka is Magicka. It's always on sale somewhere. I think they did a great job with the spell combo system and it seems like it is loads of fun multiplayer but the game itself seems pretty lackluster and the community has pretty much moved on at this point so you're better off if you have friends who play. Also, as noted, the only 'content' DLC is Stars Are Left, Vietnam, Other Side of the Coin, and I think Marshlands. Everything else is a skin, weapon, PvP map, etc.

Also of note Amazon seems to put it in a lot of their Paradox packs/bundles so if you think you might want other Paradox stuff you might be better off waiting down the line.

Going to be a cheap fuck and wait for Serious Sam 3 to be like $5. It's Croteam, price on this should come crashing down eventually plus it's Steamworks and sold at a ton of digital outlets.

Bought Walking Dead, $15 seems a fair price. Anyone have any thoughts on Valley Without Wind? Looks interesting.

Try the demo. When I tried it before it still needed some work, but it's gotten 2 major patches with tons of additions and changes since then.

New bundles are up. The 3 least shitty hitman games for 5 eurobucks is pretty sweet. Highly recommended sneaky/killy things. Saints row 3 75% off again, but if you want all the DLC you're still going to spring for a 25 eurobucks bundle. Indie bundles continue to be uninspired shit. GabeN hath forsaken us.

The Walkind Dead for me today,I haven't played any of the Telltale games and I heard people saying this is probably their best so I grabbed it although I am not a big fan of zombies

Tempted by Qube, buuut it's probably indie bundle fodder.

I feel I am obligated to buy lods of emone even though I can't even play Killing Floor MP any more (Time out on every goddamn server I join).

Mildly tempted by Darkness 2 but not enough to buy it.

Looking like a dry day for me, barring votes/flash sales. If Dungeon Defenders goes 75% off and it includes all the DLC I may pick up the DLC I'm missing. Maybe. Possibly. Maybe not since I don't really play Dungeon Defenders much any more.

I haven't played DD since the month or so after it's release because I hate the way they turned it into a grind fest with out-of-control stat/item/mana inflation. That said, for $3.25 I'll still probably grab the substantive 'expansion' DLC just to play through it. That and it doesn't look like I'll be buying much else this sale unless there's some surprise 75% off Amalur discount. My 'final day/non daily gem' total isn't going to be much more than $15 or so.
