A game having microtransactions and multiplayer doesn not mean that the game is bad by default. It's about how you implement them. You really have to stop thinking in black and white. Who cares if you can buy skins in CP77, if the gameplay is great, if they will produce big expansion packs, if it will have great writing and missions.

Cosmetic only microtransactions don't bother me at all personally, but most of the arguments against them are about their addictive nature for certain people rather than about ruining the gameplay.

Hahahah sucker is born every minute. They sold scene releases on GOG, had DRM on Witcher 2, were sending cease and desist letters to abandonware sites and alleged pirates in Germany to pay them.
With the exception of Witcher 2 DRM (which I don't really remember to be honest), the others have nothing to do with being anti-consumer, they tried to defend their business. Oh, and there is no such thing as abandonware if a company has the rights to a software. They can shut down abandonware and they are in the right.
You can call me a sucker, but their games and their practices with consumers are commendable and they deserve the good will they get.

I mean it's really baffling where this good will is coming from. When their whole shtick is "we don't care about drm and piracy", but then put drm and act on the level of ubisoft about piracy, it hurts my head how people can think they are somehow pro-consumer. They had a fucking SecuROM in Witcher 2.

And that has little to do with the point TheSentinel was making and I was agreeing with, that is delusional CDPR are somehow viewed as "the good guys", when they are capable and did all the scummy stuff companies like Ubisoft, EA and Activision get shit for.

Who the fuck even gives a shit about any of that shit anyway?

This is like watching someone build a house out of shit, paint over it nicely, then re-do the paintjob.

Can someone explain to me why PS:T and Disco Elysium get a pass but Witcher 3 catches so much shit on here?

PST and Disco catch plenty of shit around here, and Witcher 3 placed 15th on the last top RPGs list.

I just thought PS:T and Disco were better recieved and TW3 was more hated,

Because of nostalgia bias. The Codex is like a bunch of old people yearning for the good ol' days.

TW3 is AAA Action-RPG-lite. It is inherently repulsive to Codexer :D

Ande DE and PS:T are both good games. DE wasted its potential by not being more reactive I guess,

Suck it combat fag.

It's a useless comparison given how different the settings and gameplay are. I couldn't get into Disco Elysium at all because the setting and characters just didn't appeal to me regardless of how good the writing might be.

Witcher 3 isn't catching so much shit. Normal people are just not interested in arguing with shitposters like Falksi, who are like a broken record repeating "it's shit", so butthurt they can't stop 5 years after the game was released.

Both Witcher 3 and PST are very high in the Codex top X. Witcher 3 was RPGOTY. Disco Elysium will probably be RPGOTY as well.
