In the end, I bet the interviews with Brian Fargo after launch will be like:

payed interviewer : Tell us how you handled cut content?
Fargo : Well, you know we had to cut some minor things, but in the end we did the game justice, we made it better!
payed interviewer: WOW! You are awesome! Brian Fargo is a hero guys!

I bet most of the reviewed will be like 9 out of 10.:0-13:

You guys cracked the case: fargo is a failure and disappointment who should not be trusted with money. It only took countless pledges of who knows how many thousands of dollars over multiple begging campaigns to figure it out. I mean who could have predicted that the guy who was already one of the most massive failures and disappointments in gaming's relatively short history before his first begging campaign was going to continue being a massive failure and disappointment?

I'm still holding on to my over-priced, "worse than the retail one" physical collector's edition :hero:

I was thinking about getting a refund but ah, fuck that. There's still a slim chance the game will turn out to be decent and if not, the game box will serve as a lingering reminder to be more careful on what to spend my hard-earned Yewros...

I first pledged, what was that tier... 75$ digital, and then added 25 via PayPal. That was in the halcyon days when 1 USD = 30 RUB. :negative: Right now I fully expect not even a trainwreck, just a bland, short, forgettable game, filled with mediocre-to-bad visuals, heavy-handed librul preaching and Chernobyl tumblrina portraits. I won't withdraw my pledge, because I want to see this shit to its bitter end. I wasn't going to back even BT4 and W3, inExile already showed themselves to be not so competent back then. But after 'dex blacklisting, after repeated lying about cut content and acknowledging it only after the story was caught up by gaming journos, for all their future projects - Steam Sale it is, and even that is debatable. If they even manage to stay afloat, and not sell themselves to Techland or something, so Brian Fargo can get a brand new plastic trophy wife, or pay child support or whatever.

There's still gonna be a lot of great stuff in the game.
I think it will be a solid 7/10, at least. Potential for a 8/10 is definetely there when they release the Director's Cut +M

Will be exciting to see the reviews despite all the negative fallout from the lastest reveals of missing/cut content and so forth. Quite sure the game will be fun regardless.

Transparency should always be at the forefront, no matter what you do in development projects or any project for that matter. Guess they'll learn from that.

I backed this (just for a digital game), didn't really pay attention to the Kickstarter and haven't looked at the beta yet. This way, it's the first thing I hear of this second city now that it has been canceled. Somehow, that doesn't really get me to be angry. In some cases, ignorance is bliss. I'll probably play this half a year after release when, hopefully, everything is patched.

I guess it's the principle of stretch goal fulfillment for some people, but I agree with you. Some location being used instead of another location, the Desert of Smith got cancelled and the Desert of Jones got put in instead, is a whole lotta stuff for me to not lose sleep over.

Given that jury's still out on the quality of the actual central plot I'm not withdrawing my pledge. Didn't feel strongly one way or the other about backing other inExile stuff but the sleaziness of the last year will make me think twice about throwing money at another storyfag by them.

So I pledged $55 total:
- $25 for the game on Kickstarter
- $10 for Alpha test (wanted to try the game systems asap without spolilng the story, I got what I wanted)
- $20 for Beta test (no idea why I did this, cause I do not usually do Early Access stuff, especially if the game is that much story-oriented, basically it was extra support for the project I was excited about so much).

It was not that expensive back in the days. Stainless Veteran knows what I mean.

The only thing I'm really upset about about all non-human party members were cut. I still think this'll be a decent game and I'm going to play it a lot.

It was a dick move not to tell about the cut stretch-goal content. But I decided some time ago I would just stop supporting inXile beforehand. I didn't back BT4 and W3.

Lol that mail. Yea we did not communicate for the past 8 months, we were too busy removing stretch goals from the game. Also we admit that we just bullshitted our way through the KS, making things up on the fly, with no idea whatsoever on how to implement any of them. But thanks for your monies.

I can use the cash right now but if i refund will my carefully designed item with appropriate lore be removed from the game? And what about that credit. Removing all that shit may cause a delay.

If they worked with you to create a backer item, they're not going to go to even more trouble to remove it. I have my doubts that they will give you a full refund for that part ... nor would I really expect them to. But it can't hurt to email them.

True.

Right now i would not be surprised if my fantastic item did not make it into the game because it is a weapon and combat got removed entirely because they could not implement it and my name is spelled wrong, something like WeGotYourMoniesSucker instead of PhantasmaNL.
