Codex wouldn't have been butthurt if RTwP won, it would've been as expected (well, I certainly expected it to win by a landslide), and would conclude with a few pages of the usual snarky grumbling about decline and Biodrones ruining everything.

I certainly don't see any Codexer come even close to withdrawing their pledge over RTwP winning, like these babies are doing.

Mostly agree, there would have been many decline! posts/gifs/pictures but withdrawing pledges and/or threatening with Metacritic reviews revenge? I really doubt it.

Combat being crap never stopped Codex from loving any game if it delivered in other areas such as setting, writing, quest design, C&C, atmosphere etc. (Torment and Arcanum being among Codex favourites are more than enough proof of that), not to mention that a good chunk of Codex actually likes IE games (I mean other IE games besides Torment) while I reckon the vast majority of RTWP Torment backers have very limited to no experience with turn based games and are even more dismissive about it.

I think most of us expected Torment to have RTWP combat, the only butthurt would have been about losing the poll war (though even this was expected), it would not have extended to trashing the game. Are we not backing P:E? Is not PST considered one of the holy trinity?

No, in this case the Codex really is the more balanced party. Scary, I know.

Your decision doesn't seem very wise to me. Hopefully I am wrong and this decision does not eventually backfire on you, even ever so slightly. I wouldn't be surprised if many P:T fans (backers or not), who hate TB combat, write extremely negative reviews on metacritic because they feel betrayed. Revenge is known to be sweet.

From refund demands to passive aggressive threats... just keeps getting better and better!

Oh man, I remember that guy! :D

This person has also backed such turn-based games as Battle Worlds: Kronos, Wasteland 2 and Divinity: OS, among other things - you can't explain that! He was also active on the Eternity boards until he disagreed with some design decision (don't recall what) and left in a huff. Last I saw, he was starting drama on the Divinity forums - he's like an average Watch poster, passive-aggressive 24/7. Retards gonna retard, what can I say.

All in all, this is a major victory for the forces of incline and the butthurt has already been (and will continue to be) glorious. I hope smudboy makes a new video soon. :)

I like turn based combat and am looking foward to a turn-based Torment game - I even wrote that very clearly. I also backed many TB based games, isn't it obvious that I like TB combat? xD

I am however also sympathetic with the fans of P:T, who do not like TB combat at all. They bought the game because it was a RTwP infinity engine game and were hoping for an inifinity engine feel for the spiritual sequel. Which they will not really be getting. I can understand that many are upset about this.

Learn to read before you waste your time making a ridiculous list of "TB-Heretics" and adding even more fuel to the file. There is enough drama here as it is.

I like TB, yet I am against it in Torment, because... some other people don't like it? :retarded:

Sensuki FYI the developer of JA: Flashback is not the developer of BiA - that would be the dearly departed Coreplay.

There's more than one person saying that as well.

Riiight I see. Back In Action =/= Brothers in Arms. I recall seeing someone say BiA in association with their name quite a bit.

This could have been a valid point. If people pledged for Torment, having been led to believe that it would very much be in the vein of PST, with no mention that the combat system may differ, they'd have every right to be pissed. This was not the case. InXile clearly stated that they weren't certain what combat system would be used. Maybe some people didn't follow the Kickstarter closely enough or just assumed that RTWP would end up being chosen, but that's just tough luck really, they don't have a legitimate complaint.

That dlux guy just seems to have some issues.

He abandoned the Project Eternity forums never to return when Josh announced there would not be XP for kills. He has yet to ever log back into his profile.

And now he's acting the same regarding the Torment combat style. When I asked him about P:E on the Torment comments he stopped posting.
