But McComb was so proud about not having trash combat in this game!

But, what he didn't realise was that the combat they do have even though it's not trash it's definitely crap.

They overcompensated with crisis'. What they appeared to have missed is that the criticism for PS:T trashmobs didn't mean that combat had no place in the experience and needed to be cut to a token bare minimum level.

It is true that "there are slums so you must have prostitutes in the game" is a poor argument. The reasonable argument is "i want to see tits" and TTON is a complete failure in that regard because pandering to a certain demographic is apparently worse than pandering to another.
Also Zombra is teh dumb. There are doctors in the game who could definitely double as dentists. Unless he means that any woman can also double as a prostitute which is not a very progressive view, really, but one I can appreciate.

Skyrim must be the best RPG ever then, right?
I have never played any Bethesda game besides Fallout New Vegas (which isn't really a Bethesda game) so I wouldn't know. With id Software in their hands that might change (we'll see how Quake will turn out) but otherwise I won't touch their shit even with a stick. Anyway, care to explain what you have in mind? Because from what I've seen Skyrim is fugly. Also, I've only added a pic, you're the retard who took it the way you did (i.e. "if a game has voluptuous women that must mean the game is at least great").

Rads gets it. It's perfectly valid to say "I want to see tits", but no one dares to say that. They're saying dumb things like "but realism!" and "but there were skanks in PST!" neither of which is a sensible argument because there are many other departures from realism and the Planescape setting that no one is complaining about. They just like looking at skanks, it would be fine to say so, but they don't have the courage to.

Also Zombra is teh dumb. There are doctors in the game who could definitely double as dentists.
Haha. I haven't played TTON yet so I didn't know. I imagine one could easily name a dozen realistic professions that aren't represented in the game, though. Does it have accountants? Political economists? Firefighters? Street sweepers? Meter maids? etc. Yet you don't see threads demanding Where are all the telephone sanitizers??

Honestly, Hive is a bit of a theme park, with everyone being either a prostitute or a thug. I don't care for developers just plopping in a hundred cloned prostitutes and thugs as background decoration. Would work better with just a few prostitutes, scarce thugs and mostly ordinary hive dwellers.

Once again, it's the setting. The Hive is described as a place full of scum.
Honestly, people should really read the Planescape source books at least, if they don't have the option to play it, they're a much closer experience to PST than TTON is.

Nah, you both are wrong. Slums filled with prostitutes deprived of any human decency is actually reflecting the moral background of the society and moral traits of its inhabitants - indifference, ruthlessness, injustice, you name it. Consider it to be a great tool for describing in-game social relationships and structures instead of "muh boob".

I recently got reminded about this Planescape: Torment post mortem podcast, recorded in the early days of Kickstarter craze.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2...t-a-podcast-post-mortem-with-the-games-makers

One interesting thing mentioned in it (by Chris Avellone, obviously) is that PST would have benefitted from more areas focused on combat-exploration (i.e. dungeons) to break the pace of constant dialogues.

I actually believe that PST has a pretty good pacing in that regard, although obviously it could be much improved. But man, I wish TToN designers took that advice.

Yes, I agree. Also, there should have been alpha and beta testers beside backers to point out too long walls of texts, slow pace, slow combat and not many encounters.

Hm, I tend to think that Planescape 2 won't ever be made via crowdfunding campaign. It all depends if some publisher and studio will be willing to tackle it.
They might.. if it is renamed into Planetscape 2 : Tournament.

I don't claim to judge the similarity between the original Planescape concept and the execution of said concept in game. It might be exactly the way Planescape was supposed to be. Just saying it looks a bit silly, because I can't exactly see how prostitutes can constitute 90% of all women in a certain place while thugs are possibly 50% of all men. Is there really enough demand? Are there enough people to be robbed?

Insert Title Here Strap Yourselves In Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Divinity: Original Sin 2

I did not gave them shekels to get the game when you are forced to play as Nigger Gypsy Trans for sure and although I don't think so much tits as in Torment was necessary for muh immersion I cant believe those SJW hacks did not gave player any option to customize PC besides choosing xer/xir pronoun. Even Wasteland 2 gave you much more tools to craft your own PC... you could even choose your religion an favorite smokes there for Alla sake. What happened to InXile betwen 2012 and now? I feel scamed now... heck even violated triggered angry too. Its not like this is game about fixed protagonist like Twichers were or something so frack Why?!

What else is "pic of game with sexy women=good" "pic of game without sexy women=bad" supposed to mean?

So you're saying that Numenera is intended to invoke a specific (yet at the same time fill in the blank ("you name it")) moral background, and TTON failed artistically because the authors forgot to include characters to reflect that background? :|

Making such stupid comparisons can only be a work of a of a man whose dick cannot get hard ...
On the contrary. I very much appreciate some T&A in media and particularly so in fantastical settings. I'm just not afraid to admit it like these guys trying to make these stupid arguments. "Realism is very important to me therefore there must be necklines below the navel on half the women." Why can't they just say "I wanna see hot babes in the game"?

If you wanted an apt pejorative for PS:T, I would say that "visual novel" would be the one you're looking for. You'd be wrong, but that's the least wrong pejorative of the three (adventure game, jRPG, visual novel).
Huh, just saw Adam talking about this on Twitter.
