C&C is overrated even when done properly like in Fallout 4.

I'd rather have a meaningful story with characters I can get emotionally attached to.

RPGs is the best gaming genre and the only one to give us consistent high quality titles since 2006.

There will never be a new golden age of RPGs. RPGs have become so mainstream our only hope is indie developers. And with time, indie developers will themselves turn mainstream (just like inXile did in Wasteland 3).
