Is there any bonus for killing all the enemies in the White Tiger missions that let you retreat after saving the cops/civs?

Besides a feeling of a deep satisfaction, no. Although, killing all enemies is the most reliable strategy to finish this mission.

Trying to decide what language to play this in:

Does the English translation still make no sense? (JP reviews also complain about the just barely understandable translation)

There's really only the occasional bump, and the occasional, "this is a 1:1 translation from a very foreign language" moment; it's mostly okay now, fans have been working on it for a while (using a special in-game tool), smoothing out the rougher parts. You will understand perfectly well what's going on in the story, and item/mastery descriptions, titles and other bits and bobs offer lolwhut moments only very occasionally.

Thank you for recommending this game from my favorite Korea
It's probably a bit more like hare brained shadowruns than firaxicoms, but that's just as well.

lol, the real endgame is working your ass off doing all the violent cases from lvl 40 to 54 just so that you can craft enough crap, or get enough legendary drops so that you get those sweet, sweet affixes and high level gear specials to incorporate into your build ideas :) The RNG is just on this side of annoying, you have to work for it, but not to a painful level like in some games; and the fist-pumping moment when you do get the desired thing ("Strategist!") is quite enjoyable.

Although, of course, at the same time you hone your strategies, try solo runs, etc., etc., Plenty to do, and three whole sets of build types (Troubleshooters, pets and drones) to do it with. Just endless tinkering, an endless series of intricate Hanoi Towers/Rubik Cubes (not only do you go deep into the thing you're tweaking, but you find you wander off several layers into other things you have to adjust so that that thing works out with the thing, then you get distracted by another thing that could be just tightened up a little bit, and that has several layers, and then you forget what the hell you were doing with the original thing, and then you nod off at the keyboard and accidentally bite your tongue :) )

So when I last played this about a year or maybe two ago the translation was still rough - and even then I understood everything without a problem. As a matter of fact, I could tell even through the imperfect translation that the writing itself - the original - was quite strong.

I look forward to coming back to this game this winter.

Everything about this game is pretty close to stellar (it would just need a bit of extra money thrown at it to polish it up from indie to AAA level) - except the marketing :( But that's just money too :(

The AT system is great. The masteries system is great. I really want to see western devs rip off this game.

Yep, they're genuinely great ideas that should percolate through to the design community in general (I believe the AT system originally comes from Final Fantasy Tactics, Dandylion have just iterated on it; but the masteries system looks like its all their own brilliant invention).
Urtuk: The Desolation also uses similar AT system.

You may try X-com Chimera Squad.

Just play Gears Tactics instead of it.

I almost finished this one, and I have no idea why, it’s one of the blandest games I’ve ever played.

For western tacticals, the Godkings right now are King Arthur: Knight’s Tale and Dungeon of Naheulbeuk, with Urtuk as an honorable mention (it’s amazing but it's not for everyone).

Yeah I agree, it's bland and repeatative but at least kind of short with quick maps (just some story missions are longish) but still better than Chimera Squad.

Knight's Tale is actually good? Nice

Check the Codex thread. Kritikal Kodex Konsensus is Blackguards-like (in the sense that almost everyone whose played it sees it as a gem). It's not perfect, but it's really good. I liked it even more than Naheulbeuk, but unfortunately didn't have time to review it.

Should mention that Naheulbeuk holds up a little bit better as a pure turn-to-turn combat experience, but Knight's Tale is much stronger in every other department, especially aesthetics, tone, and gameplay systems that aren't just combat (character building, base management, CYOC-like event choices, and more).

Just a PSA (probably old news for many here) re. action time management in Troubleshooter (which is the extra layer of tactical depth this game has above other XCOM-likes), this blog post is golden, it gives info about all the important related masteries (at least those that were in effect at the time the post was written) and some tips about how to work awareness of it into your gameplay.

Okay time to take a break until new content

Regarding Misty she might be the weakest character her hide mechanic is kinda gimmicky and slows things down. Still dont mind her ninja stuff seems a lot more interesting and better than rogue kit

That seems to be the general consensus. It looks like you can even turn the ninja into a blaster (some kind of rainfall spell type thingie).
