Hold tab.
Yeah, I meant enemies. I know about Tab. Actually, what's the difference between Tab and Z. And what's obscuration alpha or something like that?
Hold tab.
The game does not open up until after Junkyard. There is little you can do until then in terms of free exploration.
Eh - not a ton of sidequests early. Main quest is pretty much it (save for short fetch quests a la Jonas' watch). I've seen persuasion and Intim. checks for quests, so pick whatever.
And yeah, hacking is good for loot and some quests. I'm thinking about *not* using it next time just because it seems so necessary, but man, I don't want to miss out on oddities. I'll cross that bridge next playthrough.
I don't think you'll need all 3 psi spell schools for a gun character. I'd suggest specializing in just one (thought control would probably benefit you the most), with a splash in psychokinesis for the cheesy forcefield (requires 25) and metathermics (35 for cryostasis). The remaining points you can then invest into electronics, tailoring and mechanics.
edit: If you choose thought control, then you need 10 will for the locus feat. Combine that with guns, and you've got one nasty character.
Not every gun has a strength requirement. One reason to keep raising guns would be to get the execute feat, considering you can stun enemies with psi abilities.I don't think you'll need all 3 psi spell schools for a gun character. I don't think it is very gun character. More like Psi a.t.m. Because I can't use Assault Rifles with low str.
But I think I concentrate on one school of PSI. Kinesis + Force user make very strong combo. It seems that only Thought Control have hi-level feat for it (Locus). But offensive abilities on first glance is better on Kinesys + Thermics (more dmg it seems + stun on some abilities).
Another question:
How game flow from the beggining. In what order better to visit places? Where to go after clearing Omega station but before moving to next main quest?
My instinct is to say ditch persuasion - but don't. Maybe drop Con to 3 to buff Will. I think you're fine without stealth though.
I would shy away against being a jack of all trades though. I'm through Rail Crossing and while hacking is good for loot, it hasn't been super helpful in finishing quests. Basically - with hacking there's always a key or something out there, so it might be less necessary than lockpicking for quest purposes.
Cannot drop lockpicking or hacking. My precious loot cannot be forsaken. Persuasion - already dropped. It seems quest wise Intimidation better used. Am i wrong?
Does armor sloping work with tactical vests that use psi beetle carapace? or is there other way to reduce armor penality? am playing on hard as stealth crafter/psi but 35% armor penality really cramps my style :/
Why would you not use shield emitters? So, between Evasion and Shield Emitters, which is the better choice for ranged protection?
How do change the height of walls to be able to see what's against them? I think this was discussed at somepoint but I don't remember if it was finally implemented.
Melee is 100% viable and fun. If you want to go brute, just go for lots of strenght, constitution and use the most badass hammers and the heaviest of armours. At least myself and Blaine can attest to the fact that such a build can finish the game without too much of a problem, and becomes a walking machine of doom later on.I had the luck of being gifted this game and will start to play it very soon. I am scrolling the threads while trying to avoid spoilers and I notice most people go for stealth and ranged combat. Is melee bad or boring to play? Since the game is combat heavy I assume these could be probable reasons.
I was thinking of making some kind of brute warrior and try to see how it works but the lack of people playing this way seems strange.
I'm running a bog standard guns and armor build but I'm looking longingly at psi with regrets. I'm not that deep in so is it worth it re-rolling and if so any suggestions for full psi?
Too early to say l, I'm still capping rathounds but I imagine I'll be fine since its such a vanilla build its hard to fuck up.This is assuming your current build is effective.
Guys - advice needed - I've currently got 3 strength, 3 willpower and 3 constitution, and at level 10. Dexterity 9, Perception 10, Intelligence 7. Doing a pistols build, no psi. Having some trouble now with the game, because it seems that pistols are really really gimped. They have no range, take retarded amounts of AP to fire, do really low damage, cannot burst - it's just fucked up. And I don't want to have to start over. But how do I salvage this character?
I've gotten aimed shot, expertise, gunslinger, recklessness, kneecap, rapid fire, sharpshooter.
I really wish I had gone with STR 6, because it's a requirement for what seems to be the best pistol perk - steadfast aim, since there seems to be no advantage to pistols except the critical chance provided by this perk. How do I increase my STR? I also need to pump DEX to lower my AP cost.
