Yeah, and you know what? - they are shit.
They are so bad that I could not bring myself to play them even one minute, so I even didn't played them - that's how bad they are.

Since I can't play with the character concept I wanted to use, I'm not going to play it at all.
I read an opinion like that somewhere in the Steam reviews. The guy wanted to play a stealthy character, but since he didn't want to use his brain (if he had one, I don't know) and spend his time to learn the ropes, obviously nothing good came out of it. So he said that he "can't play the character he want to", while in reality the lightweight builds are among the strongest in the game.

I guess some people just want to throw stats and feats like shit on the wall expecting something to stick to it. Every build should be playable, huh.

I had a plan through level 14 and perhaps a bit beyond, then the game decided to fuck me over through a randomized weapon award and level design that isn't suited for stealth. :rpgcodex:

Level design is suited for stealth actually, game goes out of its way to give you paths to stealth through. Just export the character and start over if you dont like the weapon, or sell it and buy a better one, you get 200 bucks at the start and its plenty of money.
Or complain and cry like a baby, but dont expect to be taken seriously.

Oh please you little drama queen, at most you have it a bit more difficult at start. Of course if you were smart and checked out other weapons and noticed the higher damage you would breeze through most of it. Stealth works right of the bat, I sneaked almost through the entire area around the first outposts sans the 4 rathounds around the explosive barrels.
You could not even be bothered to do the bare minimum, you are the typical decline Skyrim player who needs complete handholding or give up 5 minutes when shit does not go your way.

There's no reliable way to sneak past certain rathound areas even with the interloper feat.

I already received a smg when I gave the guy his watch back, however I was once again incensed when on one load he'd give me a 7.62 (which while better, I had barely any bullets for and I'm not walking all the way back to the damn gun store to buy some with that walking speed) and on another a 5mm (which, combined with jhp rounds, was pretty useful for killing m'lan ratula in a single turn before he could do anything). I'm now finished with the rat caves with all five outposts powered up, however I won't be playing any further. Replace my health sponge complaint with "randomized fail loot that strongly encourages reloading even though I'm usually one to just roll with whatever I get."

Of course if you were smart and checked out other weapons and noticed the higher damage you would breeze through most of it.

I thought those were higher-tier weapons for later. The default weapon in any game should be adequate enough to use against the first enemies you meet.

It really doesnt tho, quest rewards are shit and you wont rely on them beyond the first hours or so, and even then, a decent character can still pull through, and any character concept is perfectly viable and all the character concepts will find something to challenge them and something they can overcome easily. What happens here your character is shit.
Its wise of you to quit because its about to get much worse. Killing psi bugs and then the junkyard would have raped you.
Game is about constant difficulty spikes and how the player overcomes those spikes. You bitched and moaned for about two days before being done with the first stupid quest because the game didnt hand you a suitable weapon.

Then why do they even exist? Looks cargo cult to me.
Because you are expected to get paid for your services, and you can sell those rewards, also sometimes youll get lucky and get a decent piece of gear as a temporary replacement for better crafted one.
I dont know if you are baiting or honestly asking.

Please implement a map, a quest compass and a auto-win button. We have an emergency.

Note that knowing where to go and difficulty were not among my complaints.

It's really hard to tell what are your complaints.

I've played this for an hour. I don't like it.

This is unintuitive garbage full of trap options made by an amateur.

I'm no longer interested in that either. It's Larian and CD Projekt for me from now on.

Since I can't play with the character concept I wanted to use, I'm not going to play it at all.

I think you are confused: normally you are the one jumping through the game's hoops and not the opposite.

Also stop inventing new rules like a child. Deal with it or fuck off.

So is it worth buying? Is the story / gameplay any good? Is playing a Psi dude viable?

Story is good if you pay attention to details. Gameplay is great.

Psi is easy mode therefore a good choice. Combine it with traps/throwing and you will have a lot of fun.
