Are the saves for this game stored in the cloud ...?

They are too large for Steam cloud. They start at several megabytes and grow as the game progresses.

I recommend Google Drive if you're traveling around alternating between a desktop and laptop or whatnot.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
One thing the game needs is a map. I'd like to see which places I already explored cause I often have to backtrack after getting into a too hard encounter that I wanna try a level or two later.

Styg already added signposts, what more do you casuals want? :troll:

Personally, I'm very glad there's no automap. I like "environmental challenge," and the ability to actually get lost. It's such a magnificent departure from the standard thinly disguised auto-mapped linear corridors with treasure nooks.

Lol felt bad for spending 2k charons coins on repairing tunneler as i could not be fucked waiting for the ridiculous high mechanic threshold which i still have no idea its above 80 i know that much, now i have 4 stacks of charons laying around and i don't even know how i got them, selling ammo?

Note to all people ammo will make you cash as the merchants always buy so every bit you see grab, it builds up.

I tend to save ammo exclusively for trading with specific merchants, such as the general stores in Foundry and Core City, because general stores will purchase only very limited quantities and types of items but will still always buy unlimited amounts of ammo.

I somehow missed all the mutants at depot A with my stealth x-bow playthrough.
Only encountered the one with the dogs, which all died horribly on beartraps and my minefield, finished off with 2 shots. Easy as pie.

Guise, does anyone know if SMART stacks? As in Smart Lenses in my goggles + Smart module in my gun = 70% bonus on special attack?

Guys I have been playing with stats mostly trying to come up with a decent build, what kind of build would you recommend for a straight up melee char, an assault military guy, a stealthy build and a Psi build? Also is it better to start off with a very focused character ti get ti know the game and then experiment or is it cool to try a stealth based psi or a crossbow focused military guy in steel armor?

Is this bugged? I'm in the warehouse where I'm supposed to meet Jack Quicksilver for his delivery quest yet he isn't there.

I could repair it with Mechanics 100 (108 effective).

He's in a room off the street just to the south of the compound.

That's where I went, nobody was inside. Looked up a video of the quest on YT, he was there. I have the package, but it looks like it's bugged for me.

When you first set out on the road to the GMS Warehouse, you're attacked by bandits who take the package. No idea if this is a requirement for quest resolution, but that's how it worked for me.

What, you mean riot gear?

I never use that crap. It looks cool, but the shield bonuses are pretty pitiful in my experience (I previewed one in the crafting pane a while back that had a 30% chance to block 10 melee damage) and tactical vests seem flat-out superior. They're even made out of mostly the same stuff. Certainly, if you're using psi beetle carapaces, riot armor is completely inferior.

The melee block chance should block ALL melee damage if successful and max out around 75-80% chance at very high component quality. "BUT BLAINE, THAT'S OP IT WOULD TOTALLY SHUT DOWN MELEE ENEMIES!" You mean like heavy metal armor rapes crossbows and tactical vests rape bullets?

Fuck, I made the mistake of looking at the steam forums

Game's difficulty starts to ♥♥♥♥ me off
Im aware that this is a Hardcore game, made to be difficult and not holding your hand but god ...

I started a new char for the 4th time, trying diff builds.
The most successful was my psion even though the first part with the outposts has been a pain in the ♥♥♥ with my low Health pool. But at least I made it through by exploiting the lame AI and game mechanic. Then I do the second quest, along with finding Newton (which involved killing Azuritaes bugs). All went well but I still wanted to start over with a more gun oriented char.

So I made a new one, focusing on guns and melee. I even exploited the tutorial, being able to keep the stuff you get from it. In that runthrough, the merchants and loot were great...got nice stuff, a 7.62 gun early on, a serrated combat knife and all ...
The outpost quest went super fast, super easy and I was like "Hell yea, this is the build that works".
Then I reach the quest with finding Newton. I reach the first Azutirae bug, telling myself, "Peace of cake".
I approach it, hit it from behind with my serrated knife and ....do 2 damage.
Now im like "uuuuh, ok, maybe I really hit badly, lemme try again"
0 damage ....3 damage, 2 damage ....turn over.
Now of course, the ♥♥♥♥♥ hits me with its Psion ability ....17 ..ouch, 15 ouch ....
Okay, lemme try my 7.62mm gun then!
Shoot, point blank ....5 damage ...4 damage...
Riiiight the bug aint even 3/4 down its Health yet. I cant kill the ♥♥♥♥♥ and I know I have to fight some in groups a bit later on this same quest.

So yea, this is stupid, its the 2nd friggen quest, I cant farm, I cant get better stuff yet, and I sure cant go find Newton either with those around.

This mechanic limits the possible workable builds and its lame. Theres no way you can make the char you want, you can just make a char that works. Dont tell me to dump 3 stats in favor of puting the 3 others to 10 because thats a lame ♥♥♥ excuse to buff a character. If thats the only way to win this game, then too bad, Ill pass.

But I killed them. No clue, really.

Where is it recommended I go first, Core City or Rail Crossing? I'm level 10 right now.

I've come to believe that abject stupidity when playing RPGs may largely be the result of conditioning.

Take one of my longtime online friends, for example, a Brit who for years mainly played competitive and team-based shooters like Quake, UT, CS, Tribes, and L4D. He'd never played JRPGs, console RPGs, classic RPGs or any modern AAA PPGs.

I've always been a huge Fallout fan, but this was especially true back in the early 2000s when I was still young enough to be obsessed with nonsense, and also when the Fallout games were only a handful of years old. Eventually, a few years back or so, he decided to try F1 and F2 (with no pestering from me). He liked them and finished them. I bought him Underrail and AoD a month or so ago; he played Underrail Early Access for dozens of hours, and has now already made a lot of progress through Underrail 1.0. He loves it.

Do you know how many inane questions he asked me? Can you guess how much he complained about the game being too hard? That's right, he didn't, and I believe a big part of that is because he hasn't been conditioned to bumble down a linear corridor pressing one button like a retard as is the case for people who've been reared on the AAA RPGs of 2005-2015.

Yeah - new gamers just aren't used to failure. It's the everyone gets a trophy mentality.
