That's where I went, nobody was inside. Looked up a video of the quest on YT, he was there. I have the package, but it looks like it's bugged for me.

When you first set out on the road to the GMS Warehouse, you're attacked by bandits who take the package. No idea if this is a requirement for quest resolution, but that's how it worked for me.

But I killed them. No clue, really.

Where is it recommended I go first, Core City or Rail Crossing? I'm level 10 right now.
I'm about to finish Junkyard and have to make the same decision. I'm thinking Rail Crossing... but I'm sure both are viable. If one seems too hard - just go to the other.

I'd say Rail Crossing is easier. The Core City shops offer decent items though. So you might want to go on a quick shopping tour there.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

epeli, another question. Was the smart module actually changed? I see that the item description says "the efficiency of precision shots", but when you craft the gun it says "damage of special attacks increases by x%".
I did a short burst test using the same steel cat frame. With the smart module, the lowest damage I got was 22 and the highest was 58. I hit for more than 50 damage a few times. The steel cat without the module did between 19-49 damage. It did less than 20 damage a couple of times and it never went past 50.

Guise, does anyone know if SMART stacks? As in Smart Lenses in my goggles + Smart module in my gun = 70% bonus on special attack?
This is a question I wanted to ask, but forgot every time.

Also is it better to start off with a very focused character ti get ti know the game and then experiment or is it cool to try a stealth based psi or a crossbow focused military guy in steel armor?
This game is pure distilled pleasure. Don't be feared to get pleaser from the first try!

What, you mean riot gear?

I never use that crap. It looks cool, but the shield bonuses are pretty pitiful in my experience (I previewed one in the crafting pane a while back that had a 30% chance to block 10 melee damage) and tactical vests seem flat-out superior. They're even made out of mostly the same stuff. Certainly, if you're using psi beetle carapaces, riot armor is completely inferior.

The melee block chance should block ALL melee damage if successful and max out around 75-80% chance at very high component quality. "BUT BLAINE, THAT'S OP IT WOULD TOTALLY SHUT DOWN MELEE ENEMIES!" You mean like heavy metal armor rapes crossbows and tactical vests rape bullets?

That was brought up fairly recently back in alpha. Styg did increase riot gear's melee resistance/threshold bonus a bit (from 50% to 75%), but he was reluctant to buff it too much for reasons that are unclear to me.

Alfons Yup, it's possible to get energy shields and even their blueprint early on if you get lucky. Smart modules and goggles haven't been changed.

Haven't been changed from what?
Just don't get description - it is damage increase for every attack or only special attacks?

It says it increases special attacks. Therefore it applies only to special attacks.

How do I get to motherfucking Mushroom caves?

Go south from the crossroads post where Jonas is. Next map you turn east past the gate. Voila you found Caius Cossades.

Since the latest alpha. There was some confusion about whether they should apply to special attacks with reduced precision (burst, point shot, rapid fire) because some smart-thingamajig descriptions had (and still have) misleading "precision shots" instead of "special attacks".

But the case is, smart modules/goggles work with all special attacks.

Really though, what the hell does "SCT duration" mean?
Scrolling Combat Text. You know, the texts that float over characters' heads when they take damage, get (de)buffs, etc.

Lord Styg ,
EDIT: updated below

I am happy to present my actions to promote your masterpiece:obviously::

- Convinced guy at work to buy it
- Introduced it to Will Ooi on Twitter (huge Fallout fan, did Tim Cain "Unmasking the Gamers" blog): "Diggfinger @willooi @UnderrailGame Looks fantastic! I'll get myself a copy, cheers for the notice :)"
- Twitter-message to Lazy Game Reviewer: "Diggfinger @UnderrailGame No plans to review it, but I definitely want to play it!"
- Mentioned the game to Matt Barton - seems open to do Matt Chat once he has played it (Tweeted by other Codexer, fuck if I remember his name) - Matt played Underrail on episode 321, Styg gonna get interviewed this week
- Mentioned the game to Tim Lang (Director of Might and Magic IX, level/ lead designer on 6+ 7, huge Fallout fan): "liked" Facebook post
- Mentioned it to Tim Cain
- Various tweets to nerdy game magazines, known for supporting Serpent in the Staglands in the past
- Tweeted to Greg Kasavin (former Gamespot editor), response: "@Diggfinger Haven't tried it yet but yeah if it's anything like those games I'll have to check it out...! Thanks for the recommendation."
- Tweeted to Desslock: @Diggfinger @UnderrailGame not yet, but am almost certain I'll really like it. My type for sure.
- Asked HaasGaming to review it: @Diggfinger @UnderrailGame Just might. Got the game, played through the intro or so a few days a back, planning to look at it more for sure.

Finally, I bought two copies myself (one beta, one GOG version).

At your service - for Greater Codexia :salute:

So i've started 1.0 after 60h EA and not a second is boring, although i am starting with a tried build.
I noticed there are lots of typos in dialogues now (or missing/misplaced letters/words) - not that it matters much, but not sure they were there before.

This time i took my time exploring all areas around base and quest locations and am already a lvl 8 going in Depot A. So not sure how someone can complain about difficulty when there is plenty of levels possible while doing early quests. The noise system made some of the early encounters tougher, as i could not pick some dudes one by one anymore.

Also noticed that now you can do quests for both, Scrappers and Eels to gain access to depot A simultaneously. My inner munchkin was very pleased.
Best thing so far - the stealth raid on Jankyard casino with lots of dead guards and awesome loot.

epeli, I can buy a shield emitter before depot a. Is that intended?
You can loot one in Jankyard casino. Problem?

Thanks. How about a cheap or free crossbow? Some guy wants me to shoot a rat-something but didn't give me a crossbow, just bolts. Not sure there are any rats left though as I killed a ton.

The crossbow and normal bolts are in a locker in the same room...

Yeah, he hands you the special bolts but tells you to retrieve the crossbow from the locker.

circ, if you find that reading things and following simple directions is too stressful, you might want to go ahead and register for RPGWatch, then perhaps fire up Bethesda Linear Hiking Simulator for Consoles 4 for a few hours so you can just kick back and relax after work. :troll:

Lol felt bad for spending 2k charons coins on repairing tunneler as i could not be fucked waiting for the ridiculous high mechanic threshold which i still have no idea its above 80 i know that much, now i have 4 stacks of charons laying around and i don't even know how i got them, selling ammo?

Note to all people ammo will make you cash as the merchants always buy so every bit you see grab, it builds up.
I was able to repair it with 100 mechanic -- I only had to build up the skill to 75 or so, thx synergy bonuses.

I suspect the threshold of fixing the furnace in Foundry is 100 electronics as well...

After a certain point, money REALLY stops being a problem... the real challenge becomes finding worthwhile stuff to buy (I'd kill for a 120+ rating power core / Hammerer frame / PK amplifier right now).

I used to do the penny-pinching thing when starting out, but somewhere between Rail Crossing and Core City even random mooks started dropping gear worth insane amounts of cash. As in, "sell two to the vendor and he's already cleaned out" insane, even without repairing them. Shield generators are especially lucrative, since they weigh 0.1 and are often worth 6-7+k.

Agreed. The related feat (Guard) also looks like total crap. Shield mechanics could use a rework, IMO. Right now they are a trap choice.

BTW, anyone has any tips on how to deal with Jookhela the demon Rathound? Her shadows simply rape my guy and I can't fight them back. Can't survive 4 turns either...

EDIT: nevermind. I did it by removing armor and running around with adrenaline, lol.

Think of Charons less as money and more as
stuff you'll be shoveling into a furnace by the bushel so that you can later craft magic money armor.
