These new guys are tough. I simply can't kill them at 24lvl, need more damage. Will try again with veteran perks and some other adjustments.
WTF is this? I've never seen this before!

Random fragment that can appear in the sewers. Lore about it:
Those guys were Master Exploder partners/brothers at the Arena, but got deluded with the Arena. They're trying to destroy the Arena by blowing up a support column bellow it. You can learn it talking to Beautiful Joe after the bomb goes off (it doesn't destroy the Arena)

put up what? it's not a build, it's a simple task of distributing skill points, do it your fucking selves

why the fuck do I have to prove that you get 1280 skill points to distribute over 30 levels? eat shit
A bit of a dodger IRL as well I see.
Post build pussy.

are you confused about something? go on the build site, ctrl + click to distribute points as described, jig it until you get the picture
You're the guy who said it's possible to have maxed dodge/evasion and everything else.
Show me faggot.
Prove it.

I spend untold hours not getting hit at all because I can see and kill everything before it can move—so normie focuses on my inability to evade poison bolts, which is a potential (but avoidable without Evasion) issue on two screens in the entire game during a few short gladiatorial or wave defense sequences, thus disproving his own argument.

Nevertheless, he's spent pages hallucinating that I'm struggling with the game because I "dumped" defensive skills, despite the fact that I roll over enemies with minimal effort. I even produced a bullet-pointed list of how I do it. The build speaks for itself.

At a certain point, I suppose one must simply accept that the clinically autistic will experience fits of rage when someone accidentally steps on their clumps of mismatched Lego. It seems that normie's clump of Lego happens to be a fetish for wasting points and feats on Dodge and Evasion. The all-caps, stream-of-consciousness revenge porn in which he dreams up nonexistent scenarios that would cause people who didn't waste all of their skill points to regret it is the icing on the cake. He even tacitly admitted he's a save-scummer, which we already knew, because that is the inevitable result of standing around letting enemies shoot you and relying on gambling to survive.

My biggest regret right now in my current build is that I opted for 5 CON, since HP are my least-used derived statistic, and I have a mountain of unsold and unused health hypos large enough for Scrooge McDuck to swim through.

Stop arguing about how to distribuite rachitis skill points most effectively, play 18 Int lazgun build, and you will have sp for everything.
Most comfortable build I played in that regard.

Affording some points in evasion isn't hard now that Expedition is out and makes character building much easier. Up to 200 extra skill points from levels past 25, engineer suit so you need less lockpicking/hacking, hypercerebrix so you need less of every intelligence skill. I'm not saying you should go all out on it but if you're playing a high mobility build already then you may as well put some points in it. Even if it only makes a few shots miss and makes explosions a little weaker. It doesn't need to do everything, just help a little.

This dodge/evasion discourse is too much autism for me to participate, but I think I will try some dodge/evasion melee build in foreseeable future. Although, the two questions still stand:

1) Do I need SI? It will come in handy but with +6 to CON I wouldn't have enough attribute points to pump AG. So I guess I'll live without
2) And what the fuck should I do with hostile psikers? I recon it'll be easier to deal with doppelgangers since I can dodge their shit but what the fuck should I do against shit like breakdown or overload? You can't evade that shit

SI on a melee build? Good luck with that. Psikers you just sneak and kill them first, did it just fine with melee.

SI melee is completely fine on Dom/Oddity, it just depends on where you're getting your battle-winning damage from.

Styg interview podcast:

Talking RPGs with Dayan Radisic

Today’s guest is Dayan Radisic, the lead developer at Stygian Software, the team behind the indie CRPG UnderRail. I’ve personally only played a handful of hours of the game so far, but it’s definitely the kind of game that’s in the “RPG Project” territory – it’s quite clearly super inspired by games like the original Fallout. I wanted to talk to Dayan about the game and his perspective on what’s important in RPGs, but I was even more interested to talk to an indie developer who has worked on a single game for over a decade.

You can support this show by becoming a Patron at www.patreon.com/keithburgun. By the way, I have a new schedule now: the first Monday of every month, there will be a new podcast episode from now on.

Thanks for listening!

I'm not into this whole podcast thing, are all podcasters this dedicated to their craft?

Since shortly after the turn of the century, no game journalist—whether big-time or small potatoes, and regardless of format—can be bothered to actually play video games.

This is somewhat similar to how post-2010 female diversity hires at development studios can't be bothered to actually develop video games, let alone play them.

First batch of three. There's a >140q in there, too. I've gone entire playthroughs without ever breaking 150q.

With luck like this,
maybe I should have tried a normie Evasion and Dodge build after all.

Did at level 14 on DOM, doable with traps and lots of gas grenades. Very fun fight.
Well, that was for brute force approach, wo any cheese didn't even have bear traps on me. Decided to kill them one by one with vanishing powder.

Current run :D from the second order, (realized that I don't need more charons, overdid that a little). Waiting for some lucky buy from the tatoo guy but the difference will be like 1-3% crit chance so barely worth it.

Overall, I like this build, currently https://underrail.info/build/?GgMQB...Cox0CQhdTS8OSwocGEsKFwrPCnisaw4jita4G4r2EBd-_
(the rest of SP will probably be invested in evasion :D aside from two main skills)

Setting up ambush procs is what makes it fun but unfortunately ambush instead of SI heavily reducing the chances of using melee approach. I should've investing in guns more in this case, would've saved some SP. Having insane burst and the ability to re-stealth sometimes even w/o powder thanks to interlooper is what makes it powerful. I'll post later my final version with adjustments in mind in the build's thread FWIW.

So SI-version, like Ol'Willy's for example is probably more fun overall since you way more often can choose between melee and ranged. Lack of insane burst damage though, have to rely on CC etc.

you're like the world champ of missing the point

congrats, you've played through the game, pushed through all its challenges with retard determination while punching 20 new holes in the drywall - and now, after everything is dead and nothing can really stop you after a few quickloads, you can finally make your one piece of SS kit that's good for... oh, nothing... but you definitely need it for- mmm, shit

WOW what build, so smart, major investment!

DZTXhmC.gif

lmao @ you charon hoarding spaz, I even guessed the sum right before deducting kitting out your house - I know you better than you do

Your point is directed at a straw man, so naturally it keeps on missing me. I don't have to evade it; besides, I wouldn't make such a poor investment when not being there in the first place is a much better strategy.

My build is practically deterministic. I can't even remember the last time I had to quickload a battle. Yours, on the other hand—if you ever post it, that is, not that there's any real need—clearly obliges you to reload every time you get a couple of bad die rolls.

The Pickpocketing-related conclusion to the (very minor) Ethan quest line took me completely by surprise. That was pretty cool.

In fact, one way to elevate Underrail to truly legendary status would be to have more stuff like that. It really makes the world come to life.

Congratulations, they're very tough. Especially the time manipulation one. Did you like the belt?
I killed two of them on a first try actually but then the lazor guy killed me. Vengeance buff they getting is quite strong. So I decided to play it safe.

Yeah, belt seem very cool and begs for a little dedicated bulldozer rampage run but since these guys are spawns at random...

UnderRail's definitely got some of the best little narrative twists I've seen in a while. Both the ones with Ethan and Ezra were enough to make me stop and pause for a second.

I really dislike Ethan. I make sure to pickpocket his watch so i get to make him pay in lead for what he had done.
