Compatibility and HD patch for Worms World Party:

wwp_hd.png

This will work on any version of WWP, but I personally recommend to patch it to the latest (1.01).
The HD patch will only work on european 1.00 and 1.01! Make sure you have them installed!

This will fix the crash problems in WWP for real on all Windows systems, including Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7, Vista and XP.

Don't forget to remove all the other fixes (such as "color fixes") if you installed them before! They are not needed as the game runs in 32-bit colour depth now, eliminating the color issue.
The same applies to WWP.exe "compatibility" options in the file properties. It's best to disable them all.

The windowed mode feature will also enable a cool windowed mode.

Features:

Ability to enable windowed mode both during the match and in frontend menus. Open wndmode.ini and change "WindowedFrontend" and/or "WindowedInGame" from 0 to 1 to enable window. Frontend will be in the top left corner due to technical limitations; the in-game process will be in center of the screen.

When in windowed mode during the match, unpin the cursor from the game window by alt-tabbing or pressing Ctrl+G. You can then move the window border (enabled through the "Border" setting in the ini file). Pin it back by clicking inside the window (or using Ctrl+G again).

Minimize the game using Shift+Esc, Win+D, Win+M, or any other method you like. For fullscreen this only works when playing the match (to prevent crashes in frontend menus), in windowed mode the minimization always works perfectly.

Press Alt+F4 when playing a match and you will immediately return to the frontend menu just like in WA. If you also press Alt+F4 in the frontend menu, WWP will shutdown.

Download:

http://files.steps.club/wwp/wwp_fix_wrapper_hdresolutions.zip

This is how to play WWP in [Current Year], there really is no need to waste money on Team 17's cash grab "remaster".

The official 1.01 patch (aka "Worms World Party UK English Service Pack 1") can be found here. The Mission Packs are also nice to have.

Compatibility and HD patch for Worms Armageddon: http://worms2d.info/Updates_(Worms_Armageddon)

SchemeEddy is a must-have too, with this tool you can easily create your own weapon schemes without having to unlock everything in-game first. It works with both WA and WWP.

MDK WASD + mouse controls and best graphics, this is not exactly a patch but it's handy for lazy people and future me:

Open MDK.cfg, delete all lines and paste:

; MDK Configuration file automatically generated by MDK

cddata =
hddata =
hduse = 2
MouseWAxesMap = A0G
MouseWButtMapB = 2
MouseWButtMapC = 32
KeyUp = 17
KeyDown = 31
KeyJump = 57
KeySniper = 11
KeyLookUp = 47
KeyLookDown = 48
KeyZoomIn = 50
KeySideL = 30
KeySideR = 32
ForcePCorrect = TRUE
D3DOptions = -2147352475

RMB=Sniper Rifle
Scroll Wheel=Zoom
Space=Jump

One small issue with this setup is that you'll have to use W S and the left and right arrow keys during re-entry stages.

a simple autohotkey script can remap the left and right arrows to A and D.

Codex 2014 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy
(Not sure if these have been posted)

Civilization 2 required patches and stuffs to play the game on modern systems.

The unofficial x64 patch for Civ 2 - fixes problems such as the game crashing whenever a text prompt comes up.

To play the videos the Indeo codec set is required - The download here worked for me.

This all assumes that you can get the game running on x64 systems to begin with - currently that's hard to do since the installer for "regular" Civilization 2 is a 16-bit program, which x64 systems just laugh at. But Civilization 2 Multiplayer Gold Edition has a 32-bit installer, so you can use that.

(For Civilization 2: Test of Time there's a whole set of patches, fixes and stuffs that are unrelated to the older, superior versions of the game, so I won't list them here.)

I think not mentioned up to now:

John Romero gave out the source code of Daikatana to the game community who ported and fixed messing with the game.
Latest release v1.3 from July 2016 http://www.daikatananews.net/

Did someone mentioned already Need for Speed III (1998)?

http://veg.by/en/projects/nfs3/

"Full widescreen and HD resolutions support. You can easily use resolutions like 1920×1200. Now the game supports all aspect ratios from the 5:4 to 16:9, inclusive 4:3 and 16:10."

While not quite a patch, this is how to play Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition in borderless fullscreen 16:10 (or any non-16:9 aspect ratio):

1. Install DSFix, Widescreen Fixer 3.4 (or later). - do not install widescreen fixer to program files!
2. Download the DS:PtD plugin from here: http://3dsurroundgaming.com/WSF.html and extract it to "..\Widescreen Fixer\Plugins"
3. In DXFix.ini, set your native desktop resolution and BorderlessFullscreen is to 0 (disabled).
4. In-game, make sure your game is set to fullscreen and your desktop resolution, with AA disabled. exit dark souls.
5. Follow the instructions here starting at number 7: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3060445 Note that the default hotkey for widescreen fixer is the multiply key '*' on the numpad, and that you must leave widescreen fixer running!
6. Launch dark souls, change the in-game fullscreen option to disabled. exit the game
7. In DSfix.ini, set BorderlessFullscreen 1 (enabled).
