But who kept sending you chess emails?

Maybe the upcoming Bloodlines Prelude mod will explain that ;)...
Clearly it was the Malkavian Primogen. He even has chess themed floor tiles all over his mansion.

This painting always reminded me of Nicolas Cage. Who, in fact, would be perfect as Malkavian Primogen.
That's a painting of his wife, though.

e: The texture is named "malkwifepic_texture".
on this topic I remember there being a fan theory that his wife isn't actually his wife, nor was Alistair actually a doctor prior to being embraced.
IIRC, the theory is that Alistair was a patient who was insane, being embraced made him sane. The "wife" is actually Ginger Swan(note the date of death): https://vtmb.fandom.com/wiki/Ginger_Swan

Good news or worse news depending on your perspective: according to CAvellone, he, CEllison, and bmitsoda are the only writers on this.
He lived enough to become the villein then.

All the people who thought the likes of Tides of Numenera and Divinity: Original Sin 2 and Pillars of Eternity had too many writers will now have something with a unified vision
Have no idea what you are talking about. They had problem with the quantity of the writers and not how many they were. I haven't noticed anyone to go full butthurt over how many people were writing that shitty fanfic.

From the looks of it Avellone is the best one of them all. Ellison is sjw jizz writer while Mitsoda is overrated in way, haven't seen anything good outside of vampire. Also bloodlines was never about masterful writing,it was simplistic writing that clicked well with the setting and atmosphere of the game. It wasn't something remarkable. Anyway, lets hole that Avellone doesn't go full progressive by the end of this game.

Less writers is a necessary, but not sufficient condition for good writing

Even with his hamfsted agendas, Dead State still had better writing and feel more refreshing than T:ToN and D:OS2 combined.

It's not a criticism I agree with, but I have seen it thrown around here numerous times.

It is basic common sense. You hire a bunch of people with different sensibilities and abilities to flesh out the game world and the result will be a mess. Imagine how ridiculous it would be to suggest hiring a bunch of writers to make each character of a novel or a movie. It’s a bad idea that only took root in cRPGs.

I wish they spend more time improving the gameplay then have overbearing walls of texts and lore dump dialogue.
Deluded. They will spend all their efforts in conveying political messages via characters, dialogues and quests. The moment to moment gameplay will be atrocious and the interactive gameplay barebones.

There have been complaints of a lack of unified creative vision, lack of coordination, and lack of cross-writing-team criticism which are IMO all legit. Don’t remember a lot of criticism about having a big writing team as such.

going by this thread there's already 10 sidequests dedicated to converting your character to gay islam while aiding the muller investigations and disabling a russian troll farm in seattle

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.

This seems hard to believe. There are always various "Additional Writer" credits on games of this size.

My guess is that Brian and Cara are just the only ones MCA interacts with. On the other hand, we know that Brian and Chris are both capable of being incredibly prolific. MCA is a machine and he’s been working on this part time for two years. And it sure sounds like Brian was capable of churning out lots of text, though those games often end up cancelled (I really want to see what he wrote for TORN).

Hey, Vault Dweller, can you share any enlightening stories about Comrade Mitsoda from when you worked with him on Dead State?

I've been harping on about too many cooks in the kitchen, but not because there are too many, but because it more often than not results in a meandering narrative and no coherent direction. I cite my own experience in working on a single creative project with a lot of people (a soundtrack for a film).

btw that Rudi is in the Core Manual and the Anarch Manual... who says he'll be in Bloodlines2?
It bears repeating on every page: this is a scan of one of the PnP books. This thing will likely not be present in Bloodlines 2.
