Co-op? More like bugs galore. It is the most useless gimmick to put in this game imho.

Played both Divinity 2 and now BG3 occasionally co-op with my buddies. We've had good laughs and fun, but no way that we're ever playing entire campaigns like this.

This trailer is bad. Romance being put at the forefront show Owlcat didnt get the appeal of Wh40k setting and just want to cater to the loud neo-Biodrone niche. They should know that this kind of pandering is one of reasons Bioware's product steadily declined in quality and the fact that it is now a dying brand. Well, sic transit gloria mundi.

Plus those kind of zoomer drones arent really Wh40k fans. Most never owned minies or opened a Black Library book, let alone played the classical Dawn of War. They mostly want a Wh40k-flavored experience of the same kind of Biowarian shit they are accoustumed to gulping down.

Also, Dan Abnett is one of the most Librul author in his interpretation of the 40k verse and his main character only shagged like two women in his 20 volumes iconic series. :smug:

Psyker were hilariously unbalanced and OP in Dark Heresy, as they should be.
Yeah, until they blew themselves up or made a tpk happen.
Well I played a Sanctioned Psyker through the whole two campaigns of Dark Heresy (Apostasy's Gambit abd Harlock's Legacy) and it didn't happen. Frequent incidents, mass confusion and freakouts, but my character was a combat oriented Psyker so those generally didnt botch sophisticated operations. For the first few levels the Psyker is mostly an utility caster and debuffer but when you get your first Discipline, you quickly snowball into a maelstrom of unstoppable destruction. Usual modus operandi consisted in shouting to the comrades to pull back, then running into melee and spamming Holocaust. The Techpriest would then shoot whatever wasnt incinerated. :smug:

In combat, if the opposing party doesnt have a Blank/Pariah (Don't think there were in the official campaigns) or their own psyker, they're basically fucked. Downside is that once the psyker is identified, its basically the first menace everyone will focus on.

Also, for those interested, Root's 40k CYOA on the codex does borrow a few elements of Dark Heresy-verse, but with his own take on it. Notably the characters of Inquisitor Silas Marr (Main mission control/quest giver in Harlock's Legacy) and Governor Marius Hax, the Tyrant Star and the Halo devices.

Co-op mode is here!
Today we have great news for you!

In our new game, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, we've introduced a lot of unique and unusual mechanics that were not present in our previous projects. We decided to not stop there and took it a step further.

Since the very first day we started working on Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, we've concluded that travelling across the Koronus Expanse with a friend would be a lot more fun, and now we're excited to finally announce it! Cooperative mode will be available on PC at launch and introduced to consoles at a later date!

We'll be back with the details soon enough, but for now - stay tuned!

The romance section in the character introduction took me aback as well. It feels out of place.
At the same time most of the options say none. Hard to tell if they're trying to pander to the bg3 audience or establish themselves as a counterpoint.

My bet is they want to provide romance for people who might be interested, but they don't go overboard with it (which is why most characters are N/A).

I strongly doubt that is the reason. At least judging by Baldur's Gate 3.

EDIT: Infi, why not? Are you know something? WHAT ARE YOU HIDING FROM US?!
Because no game of this caliber launches in December. And why work hard just to have your game ignored by the people who are still playing BG3, Starfield and the many other releases of October?

There's just no room left this year. I'd be very surprised if Rogue Trader isn't a 2024 title.

Normally, I would agree with you, but biggest current year hits have dropped or will drop between July and September. December is good time for medium game as Rogue Trader.

Or January, as Dishonoredbr suggest.

Yeah sure, that's a convoluted 3d chess move to set themselves apart from BG3 and not blatant pandering to the romance tard crowd.

Don't forget they went for the bara-webtoon-isekai crowd with Pathfinder WOTR dlc while the game's Act 5 is still a buggy and unfinished mess with barely written quests.

Romance was even the main selling point of the DLC and they released bara fanart of the characters on their youtube account.

In Pathfinder they can get away with it somewhat because nobody gives a shit about writing in a Pathfinder game. It is an autistic combatfag experience first and foremost.

But 40k RPG system ? Well it never was really good. Very simplistic. The side that brings the most energy guns and psykers and get the highground/cover + win initiative basically wins every time.

This game merit will very much be judged on writing, atmosphere, C/C and general storyfaggotry.

Yes, yes. RPGs embracing romance degeneracy is great.

Once they're down to my level, I'll beat them with experience. And porn.
