even though I think it goes a bit too often into grimderp (aka grim stupidity, especially for Eldars).
I thought this was by design (WH40K not being 100% serious)?
Some fans deny this because they can't deal with WH40K being an inside joke from the beginning, but basically yes

Just finished the game, and the Icon ending was fantastic, having my own empire! with my son Nomos XD But I was right; I should have killed Yrliet since she teamed up with Marazhai to raid human settlements.

I’ll replay the game when the second DLC is released. Hopefully, they’ll add auto-leveling.

Just finished the game, and the Icon ending was fantastic, having my own empire! with my son Nomos XD But I was right; I should have killed Yrliet since she teamed up with Marazhai to raid human settlements.

I’ll replay the game when the second DLC is released. Hopefully, they’ll add auto-leveling.
That is a Nomos ending, not Iconoclast. I also let Nomos power up as Dogmatic but I thought him to fight for the Emperor before that. He also helped me rule this area with even more freedom.

I was accused of the seditious formation of my own empire so they sent the fleet but Nomos destroyed the fleet and severed the exapnse from the rest of the EoM and we became independent, so it is both Iconoclast and Nomos ending as without you get the line "the lifespan of the young utopia was as short as its creator's"

Yep, Patch 1.3 with a lot of interesting things is coming in December
Of all people I know everyone says the same criticisms about Rogue Trader - skill overwhelm, graphomany and wort example of "gain +0.49% to attack on enemies while crouching and burning"
Skills could be cut by 80% without any impact, take note from BG3 - feats are super important and character-defining. In RT I can damn ignore 90% of all skills because it is super-boring to read their description of +willpower bonus\1488%*0.666+0.22846166 damage per janitor enemy type rounded down

Decided to see for myself what exactly the changes with Rogue Trader are.
So I rolled a new character to get a good grip on the differences in Act I.

I can say for sure that Daring is much easier than what it used to be. I didn't get challenged all that much, dare I say it at all, even by the final Chaos Marine boss. That's not a change that I don't welcome since that allowed for awkward stuff to happen in combat and I still managed to get away with the win. Which for me fits the 40k narrative that the game is going for. There were no major bugs that happened and overall I had a very pleasant experience with the 1st Act. The added in-game cinematics elevated the atmosphere and overall Owlcat have done a very good job with Rogue Trader so far.

That being said there are still things that I don't like about the game. Initially I wanted to check on my old toon which I dropped at around the end of Act II and see how much the talents have changed. I quickly scrapped that idea as lvling up 6 heroes to lvl 20+ gave me an anxiety attack and almost made me Alt+F4 the game. Leveling is still a bit more convoluted than it should be, but at least this time with the new toons I found it slightly less annoying. I gotta admit tho just thinking about the respec option makes me want to clean the house instead. At times I could tell that I was fighting trash mobs and while it does fit the narrative I can sense this is going to be an issue later on.

But the real question is - did I have fun?

Haha, perfect description how I also felt about that even with at least two characters needing it to fix their skills and abilities that I would wrongly choose. I rather just decided to ignore wrong abilities existed than going through whole process to pick good ones instead :D

There were no major bugs that happened
1. When adding Pasqal when and where I met him, I chose to boot out Idira and take him in her place. As a result, both idira and Kibellah disappeared from the party. For the remainder of being present in that game area, I would have a pointer with Idira's portrait whenever I walked far enough away from the spot on the map where we made the exchange, as if I had left her behind, but she was nowhere to be seen of course. I still don't know where Kibellah is, I hope I find her on the voidship. I was forced to do the whole quest up to the AA turret with only 5 in the party, but it wasn't a problem due to the "Daring" difficulty being effectively Story Mode.
2. When using Charge with Abelard, his pathfinding broke and he got stuck when he had to turn a corner. The game chose to have him stay in place and he skipped using the ability.

They should put more emphasis on how to re-skill. Having to re-skill the entire skill tree of a party member just because my Imperium Lore character is out of the party is so lame. Especially given how many levels you have to re-skill too. Just a simple right click to unlearn and learn the ability from the same skill tier should be enough and should make re-skilling much easier and digestible. All of this being accessible once you click on re-skill option from the Voidship not mid-exploring or anything of the sort.

This not fully crashing the game or making the combat bug out indefinitely is a monumental achievement by Owlcat. Strides in the right direction. Love it.

Judging by their previous "fixes" nothing big will change, just some slight number changes. I really hope they plan to make Enhanced Edition and do a complete Skills and Abilities rework with merging many into one and reducing total number by at least 50%
Or if they plan to make Rogue Trader 2 (or another WH40K RPG) they do these changes there.

Interesting, because to me Operatives-Bounty Hunters were the main damage dealers (right after Soldiers-Arch-Militants), especially against high-dodge enemies.

Interesting, because to me Operatives-Bounty Hunters were the main damage dealers (right after Soldiers-Arch-Militants), especially against high-dodge enemies.
Only Operative-BH I had in both my runs was Pascal and with his Plasma Rifle he could do 500 damage when he would crit. Overall I didn't see many problems with Operatives, they had abilities for both range and melee and both offensive and defensive. Maybe only that armor ability. I house ruled myself I can only use that ability once per combat as I didn't want it to stack and give too big bonuses.

I did the same. Just with using Operative's abilities, which are very potent (Analyse, Perfect Shot, Expose Weakness, Precise Attack) and pair very well with Bounty Hunter stuff and high-damage sniper weapons (Eldar ones in particular).

BTW I hope something that made its way into 1.3 will be storing the open/closed state of the game console when transitioning between areas. It's one of those small things.

Yeah, most of the ability descriptions read like: "Allies within 3 cells with 5 or more stacks of The Willies gain 1+(2+WP bonus/2)% to dodge reduction if they're patting their head and rubbing their tummy while attacking adjacent enemies affected by Shiver Me Timbers." It's so convoluted and tedious to read/understand. I feel like a lot of the information could be better summarized in bullet points or with icons rather than the mess of words that they Owlcat presents to the player.

I feel that for some reason a lot of people here are illiterate; can't believe someone in the thread above tried to imply that incredibly shitty BG3 system with like 1.5 meaningful choices during the character progression is somehow better than reading through dozens of perks and precisely tweaking characters builds to your liking and playstyle.
In my current party I have two characters with the same first\second classes and they are completely different.

Problem 1: The action economy is lenient on Daring. Having lots of build options when the action economy is lenient leads to a feeling of "fake choice".

Problem 2: Higher difficulties are just giving the AI a license to cheat.

Do AI tactics change at all with difficulty? I don't remember anything outstanding about BG3 combat, apart from meme PnP-like moves being possible to pull off, and BGIII was scripting enemy actions a lot more than Rogue Trader.

All millennial shit is joking/not joking because they can’t handle the merely real, then they pat themselves on the back like chucklefucks if somebody tries to ride the bike without their training wheels.

I'm probably near the end of Chp.1. RT is probably not the best intro to WH lore to a newbie to the setting. The jargon alone is hyper-autistic. Combat reminds me of most of the Shadowrun games. I agree with previous mentions that the character skill/progression tree is unnecessarily complex and adds little. I can only imagine that the rules-lawyering must be hyperintense in PnP sessions.
Maybe this makes me retarded, but I'm looking forward to playing the simpler Swordhaven setting.
