How do you open the house where you fought meson cannon on a badger farm? None of my skills were highlighting it.
Found that one too, and another similar one. Nothing works, not even esploseevs.

"no" what? doesn't work or high HP char can survive it or what?

first time you fight one is on badger farm, at least I've got it as my first quest in LA. When I saw it I made my locked-on char run away 3 screens back behind hill, but he still got 1-shotted instantly, no-ressurect. So I focus fired it instead.
Guess you need to move last turn maybe? but how do you know how many shots cannon does if you fight it for 1st time.

No.
Just no.
My 1 dude in 5 armor got zapped by meson and survived with ~1/3 his health.
If meson is energy weapon maybe your armor was too high and it did a shitload of damages?

Doubtful - it was sniper in tactical vest, around 200 hp maybe, maybe less. What difficulty 're you playing?

My Rose got hit with it and survived yet in ranger difficulty, she has the lowest armor and con in the party. Also you don't need to get shot...
Just get in melee range with your targeted member while aiming the canon towards to door.

Welp it's too late for me anyway. I don't really think about doors when fighting 3000 hp cannons

hurrah found litter
person who placed hidden items in this game is an aspie. part of my psyche, the dark and disturbing and primal part, respects that, but I still want to strangle that person with his own pants for that litter quest

It's not instant kill, it's just a lot of damage, if you're lucky it can be as low as 210hp, which will guarantee a down for a low-ish level sniper, but not insta-kill. But yeah, playing ranger and more often than not it was instant kill my first time encountering. Only once did I survive, probably would consistently at higher levels but I instinctively rush them so that never happens.

Brilliant! Except I tried that and it shot right through, maybe it was a bug, but I didn't feel like reloading a couple more times to find out, so I just went and killed it.

I hid my dude behind a building and he didn't get hit. That was in Long Beach, haven't been to the badger farm yet so I dunno how its topography looks like.

But I guess you just suck :troll:

Now it's my fault that cannons can shoot through walls, thanks Inxile.

Actually, raiders have also shot me through walls and buildings before, so I guess I suck even more than previously thought. :rpgcodex:

Man Chisel died in synth ambush on a farm :argh: but keeping him with 50% berserk was a chore anyway so I'll guess we're on our own now. Only NPC who wasn't worthless and liked me.

Only thing left from him after that blaster shot is the epic indestructible jar of pickles that will forever be in my inventory since it can't be dropped, even in a base stash.

Just hide the targeted character behind a solid obstacle?

Hesus, you guise suck
It doesn't work - it's a gamble, game doesn't treat every "solid" object as an actual barrier. I already wrote I hid mine behind a no-LOS hill 3 screens away, still got hit.

Not comparing games here but man, playing Dragonfall DC after this is like getting a soothing eyeball massage.

And yeah, the LOS system is really wonky in WL2. There's no telling what might count as cover or not, and a few times I've been shot right through solid walls with me being unable to target the enemy.

You get Rose if you go AG? Others seemed not good enough to me, or thought I was too ugly with my cha 1 ubermench squad :negative:

I wish you could generate 6 men party from the beginning...

IIRC I got 2 right after coming to LA

- one was in the Santa Fe Base in a package on a crane (had to be shot down) and it was pretty shit - 10-80 ammo range is hella baed. Actually, I'm not even sure now if it used .50 cal because I sold it at once.
- second I got on that farm where children of the citadel try to steal a bunch of cows. It was locked in a safe on the field behind the farmwoman. Sweet sweet anti-materiel rifle, mang. 110-140 domoge armour pen 10, awwwww yeah

I had the first one you're talking about, it wasn't 50 cal. And the safe on the farm didn't have it.
THANKS RNG

The crane sniper rifle in Santa Fe Springs despite saying 10-80 will last you almost until end game. However, it got replaced by an Arctic rifle from I forget some synth massacre on Mannerites on a ship. And that got replaced by the Anti Vehicle sniper rifle whatever that uses .50 cal - and did like 400~ damage, one rounding anything except scorpitrons and burners.

it's a shame in my opinion that they went the retardo route with factions. I guess it's part of the Wasteland thing but it'd been a lot cooler if the factions had been a bit more serious and not so zany.

People get pretty fucking zany when they grow up in primitive and violent conditions. Do some reading on General Buck Naked.
General Butt Naked.

Also, watch this.

Anyway, the Jesus freaks are actually frighteningly realistic. Basically, they're your avarage muslim terrorist group with a christian spin.

God's Militia has also some pretty interesting roots. You could learn about it if you read one of the novellas.

One way or the other Brother Thomas is probably my favourite recruit thus far. Makes me feel like I am running around with one of the Boondock Saints brothers. Not to mention the solid stats and skills.
