Why do you use 'R's for walls? :?

Rocks.

The same reason I use W for water, B for boat, A for axe, V for swamp... er... wait... ok nobody's perfect.

On a more serious note the blood splatter effects don't work well with pseudographics. And if I go beyond them and use real textures, then it gets real ugly. And if I go even beyond that and migrate the entire engine to graphics, then I have to change many things and rewrite them from scratch, such as proper particle systems and smooth aim and movement interpolation - tried it before. Lots of problems and broken gameplay.

I see. Just be done with it, I want to play Shelter in this incarnation.

Got an itch to play Morrowind a couple of days ago. I forgot how good it was. Trying to play as a thief-type this time.

Grenades and molotovs and put down some spring traps before you start the conversation. It's pretty easy to position yourself in a way that you can predict how the half-ogres will charge you, and you just lay down the traps on that path. Just make sure Virgil is back a ways before everything starts to go off so he doesn't get in the initial blast radius.

At least that's how it goes if you're trying to get out of Shrouded Hills. If you're trying to fight those heavies that hang around the Boil side of the bridge into Tarrant, then may god have mercy on your soul. Unless you can pull off some mid-level summons.

It's way easier to just side with them instead. Alternately you can use your persuasion ability to convince their leader you're a thief and he's encroaching on your territory, in which case he'll let you pass.

Alice: Madness Returns. I officially retract my previous statements, that game is just pure awesome.

Once you disable Crossfire and move your My Documents folder, and put that sumbitch on Hard difficulty of course. I just hate those fucking tar blobs with the 3 baby-faces, they're not much trouble alone but with an army of other ungodly abominations helping them they take you out quickly.

move your My Documents folder,

What for ?

Because, if it's anywhere other than C:\users\dumbfuck\My Documents your game won't save, your controls will be unbound and your config will go back to default. Same shit as Batman: Arkham Asylum or Test Drive Unlimited 2. Stupid programmers didn't set it to check where your folder is actually located. Remember the good old days when games saved in their installed folder?

Finishing up another WItcher 2 playthrough then playing one of the 10 games I bought from GoG's Interplay 50% sale. Thinking of starting with MDK.

Oh, I do. I also remember even better and older days where you could actually choose where you wanted to save and the game integrated config into saves as well. I'm speaking, of course, of Frontier - best save system ever.

MDK is pretty much heavan, as long as you can get over the "extremely linear TPS" part.

Eternal Darkness - Sanity Requiem (Gamecube).

Resident Evil meets Undying meets Elvira. Nice atmosphere, great voice acting (Silicon Kinghts after all), good writing, story doesn't make any sense (desu ex machine moments FTW), p. cool but easy puzzles. Combat can be either very difficult (if you try to play this as a shooter) or easy but satysfying (if you use some BRIANS and magick).

4 dicks out of 5.

Descent 3 (PC).

Last game in the Descent series, may it rest in peace. :salute:

Summon two ogres, stay at a distance and attack with Harm.

In fact, you can defeat almost all of the enemies in Arcanum that way.

I'm currently in them middle of a play-trough of Lords of the Realm 2, it's good fun!. HA! It is quite similar to the Total War series, but with significantly smaller battles. While not having much depth at all the atmosphere is great and the gameplay is addictive. I am particularly fond of the music and visuals in this game, every turn is a season and the landscape changes with them.

Played the hell out of this game back in the day. A classic, IMO.

Twelve was enough I think ;)

COK is probably my favorite of the Krynn ones. DKOK was a little boring (though the optional overland encounters were lots of fun), and DQOK has some really cool bits mixed with some really TERRIBLE ones (I HATE THAT TOWER). Besides low-level adventures are always more exciting.

But... I want more of them!!!

I do have to say the Drangon Lance setting + Fighter/Cleric/Mage + Plate Mail and can cast magic == HEVAN!! It's so awesome. I never understood as a kid why we could not do this in the regular D&D setting. Which I understand now heh.

I only finished Pool of Radiance and Secret of the Silver Blades on my old Amiga 500. I own Champions of Krynn and the 2nd one, but never finished them sadly, until hopefully now.

Because I got bored of Witcher 2 halfway through that playthrough, I decided to fire up MDK to see what it was like. Ending up playing all the way through  . Wish it was longer but yeah it is a bloody fun TPS. Also quite bizarre, even when I thought it couldn't get any weirder this is played as it's ending cutscene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuqCHPiQuqw. :o
