Still trying to complete Descent 3.

Jesus F. Christ, some levels are big:

:rage:

Didn't like Okami, switched to Fatal Frame 1.
Spent ~2h trying to defeat the 1st evar ghost. Googled that it's an emulation glitch. Raged hard.
Game looks p. promising so far, nice atmosphere and gameplay. Plus, you play as a weaboo chick in short skirt - always a plus. Also, this:

At the moment, my attention is divided more or less equally between 4 games.

League Of legends, which is awesome. We have a bigass thread about it in General Gaming.

Fagout: New Vagina. Got it during the steam sale. It's... Not as bad as I'd feared actually. It's still a glorified hiking simulator, but at least I get to eat human bodies. Proof that Obsidian can turn shit into - if not gold - slightly less smelly shit.

Dungeons of Dredmor. A popamole rougelike. What it lacks in depth and enemy vareity, it makes up for in humourous text. LUTEFISK FOR THE LUTEFISK GOD! Currently questing with Hjaldir XXII, an axe-weilding berserker who dabbles in Viking magic. Hail Odin!

Space rangers 2. Doing a Let's Play on it in the codex playground. It's awesome and everyone should play this game at least once. Now, let's listen to our favourite song!

Finished Curse of the Azure Bonds but Secret of the Silver Blades looks like a huge step backwards, so I couldn't get into it right away.

I took a break to tool around with Dungeon Siege III (console rental) and Divinity II DKS (picked it up from Steam sale). DKS seems like it's not half bad, but I only checked out the tutorial bit. DS3 I think gets sold short. The console version, at least, is fun (if you play on hardcore, lower difficulties are boring) and there're some interesting situations in it. The few choices you have are more or less binary but they're still interesting and an addition to a genre that's mostly about clicking everything to death.

I suspect I'll take another stab at SotSB or move on to Wiz 7 once I'm finished DS3.

Telltale quests. Quite good and made with love to the franchises. BttF is too easy. ToMI is very good, worthy sequel.

Trying not to play New Vegas because I want to run through the rest of the DLC on this playthrough. Also running Cities XL 2011 every now and again. That's not the kind of thing that usually holds my attention for long periods though.

Thinking of booting up new runs of System Shock 2 or JA2, since it's been a while for either. Or maybe getting a copy of the new Puzzle Agent. What say you, Codex?

Hearts of Iron 3.

Currently trying to launch an attack on Russia as glorious Germany, but my western coast of France keeps getting invaded by the British. It's fucking irritating, so I put infantry units in all my ports to guard them, because I have only a handful of shitty ships. Which means all my forces are now guarding ports instead of running across mother Russia. I'm doing it wrong, right?

Alpha Protocol. I'm really enjoying this game, actually, perhaps because I haven't played a good agent game in ages and this brings back some good memories from the late 90's. Trying to play this as an RPG kind of sucks, but as a stealth/action game with stats, a decent dialogue minigame and some C&C this is pretty solid. I've only finished the first big mission, but so far I haven't had to rely on the cover mechanics too much and the stealth parts have been quite enjoyable. So far the game has been much better than I expected.

Space Rangers 2 Rebooted. :) Goddamn LP made me rerun...sweet game on Iron Man.
It seems like they made this game much easier with specialized hulls. I own the fastest ship in the galaxy now and trying to earn more credits while the galaxy is down to 33% control.

One mission made me smile so wide...

And I still collected the bounty a week later from the Pelengs. :smug:

...of course, this leads to me forgetting about my studies...and while my text book remains open next to me...I was too busy planning to pick up salvage probes while managing courier / assassination runs...

The film is my favourite horror ever, and the game has similar atmosphere to it, which makes it awesome! There's much more shooting than in the film, it's action oriented game, but still manages to keep player scared. Trust system helps a lot to do that. You never know if someone in your team isn't infected and can attack you from behind when not expected, nor the NPCs will always trust you if your actions are dubious, if they suspect you of being infected they won't listen to orders and if they believe you are infected they may try to kill you.

Good game.

Dirt 3 takes up a lot of gaming though I find that I suck at arcade racers and it is frustrating since I just won't play with driving aids or a lower difficulty. Still, I play it a lot and that probably means it is doing something good. Shogun 2 takes away most of the rest of my alloted gaming time. Game rocks and the AI mod only improved on it. Looks goddamn pretty when my tiny samurai kill other tiny samurai with my new pc as well.

Just began to play MM7. lol I really appreciate the much smaller dungeons. No more insane 2 min backtracking just to get healing like in MM6.

The art direction feels more real like compared to MM6 (it's like HOMM3 compared to HOMM2), so it takes me time to get used to general feeling. What I really miss is the extremely silly live actor portraits in MM6.

Meanwhile I've Shogun 2 installed but never seriously played, Witcher 2 installed and finished once on BROche side and is now waiting for 1.3 patch, AI War installed and maybe play it seriously for a few days, EU3 installed and being the first time playing Paradox grand strategy game it is driving me insane with all the details, HOMM5 installed and tried a bit and feel while it's better than 4 it still lacks the touch of HOMM3, etc etc etc

Haven't tried the mod you mentioned, could you tell me the name or give me the link? Have you seen any notable differences between vanilla AI and the modded AI?

I have to try Dirt 3, it looks like fun. In the meantime, I'm still enjoying being the goddamn Batman.

Finished Wizardry 7 and Witcher 2.

Wizardry 7: awesome, awesome game, wish I'd played it earlier. Now to import the party and finish off the Dark Savant trilogy. Here's hoping 8 holds up to 6-7.

Witcher 2: disappointing, but good. Probably would've found it much less palatable if I didn't have Wiz7 at the same time to balance out the fact the ridiculous cutscene:gameplay ratio and such. As far as story and immersion go, it did them brilliantly, genuinely felt hung up on several later choices even though I knew they'd have no real in-game consequences. Bit like the ending slides in that old post-apocalyptic RPG some people like. :smug: Great interactive story, but here's hoping the next one's a better game.

About to start Shogun 2, considering replaying Call of Pripyat. Running through Serious Sam: Second Encounter on the side. Should also play more Frozen Synapse.

About twenty hours into Risen and I'd rank it slightly below Gothic 2 -- it's better in some areas but not as good in others. I know people had a problem with the ending or something so my opinion might change but still a really good game so far.

G2 > Risen > G1 >>>>>>>>>>>>>> G3 (even with the community patch).

Are you kidding? G1 worse than G2 and Risen? O.o

I could agree that NotR is better than G1, but G2 and Risen are definitely not. G1 was a gem when it came to the atmosphere and story was better than SAVE TEH WORLD.

Sure. The AI is much better with force composition, will defend and attack much more sensible, will upgrade its provinces much better, will go for the trade nodes a lot more vehement. Diplomacy seems a bit more subtle as well, though I am not sure if that's from the mod or that latest patch. Game basically becomes quite a bit more difficult through this and the modder claims that he is not using any money or troop scripts. Had the AI become Shogun a number of times already. No matter how he does it, fighting the AI is a lot more fun than in vanilla. And vanilla is already a huge step up from previous games. Highly recommended.

http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=440700

EDIT: Only retarded design decision is that the modder 'sneaked' in his photo on the main screen by pasting it over one of the samurai. Shit like that always makes me rage and nearly made me uninstall. Glad I didn't. Still, what the fuck did he think when he basically ruined the main screen like that? Guy looks like a typical autist as well. Glad he hasn't gone the Darth Vader way and put his little gimmick all over the game though.
