Why is there some Twitch stream embed popup on a thread page?

Seriously, even shady porn sites don't put up that invasive retarded ads that make you unable to use the site for 30 seconds nearly every time you click on a new thread. Absolutely cringe and shameful display from the codex jews

I get it, it's dramatically upsetting that there's an ad showing up that isn't blocked by your ad blocker by default, quelle horreur! Of course it's nowhere near 30 seconds and it doesn't show every time you click on a new thread either. You're probably blocking all cookies if you're seeing it on every page load.

I'm not really keen on its current position on the page either so I've requested the code to put it in a fixed spot on the page instead, same as the other ads. So the drama generators can shift into lower gear now, this is a TESTING phase, so have some patience as I work things out.

Yes it is indeed upsetting that an ad isn't blocked, but it wouldn't be upsetting enough to comment about it, if it wasn't covering shit that I want to click/read and making me unable to use the forum normally.

Also it's literally 30 seconds, there is a timer counting down from 30 to 0 and only when it finishes, the X to close the ad appears.

Yeah, you're testing how much this jew shit pisses people off, so I'm helping you by giving you the answer.

Interesting, the one that showed for me was 10 seconds IIRC, I guess there are different ones. I've only seen one in several hours so far.

And no, I don't need to test anything to know that anyone used to having all ads blocked by default will sperg out at seeing any ad whatsoever. Funnily enough, I didn't know that this provider's ads don't get blocked by default until people started talking about it here.

That's not normal behaviour, are you using addons like NoScript? That can interfere with normal website functionality. The easiest way to determine if it's an issue with one of the addons is to use the "troubleshoot mode" that disables all addons and test. In Firefox, this is available under "Help".

Full browser sized and had a timer before it showed the upper right corner buttan to close it. YouTube style ads on the codex, absolutely hilarious. The harder and faster this place turns to shit, all the better.
There is no full-size ad, it's set to display in the bottom right corner same as on Lady Error's screenshot, so what you're seeing is an anomaly, likely due to some addon you have installed.

Friendly reminder that we have a legitimate ad-free site supporter option that removes all the ads and a thread that explains everything that you need to know about the ads: https://rpgcodex.net/forums/threads/ad-banners-about-problem-reports.11480/

This advertiser is only being tested right now so it's likely not something that will remain in the long run unless they fix several issues with it that I'm seeing already.
This is false. The ad was full sized for me. I only ever got it once, though.

between this, double penetration authentication and lack of rpg games - why even bother with codex at this point? fucking reddit is probably better place at this point.

If only there were some other forum for discussing RPGs, some sort of headquarters, or HQ, for RPG discussion—an RPGHQ, if you will—that was not burdened with these fatal flaws.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Yeah, this ad is pure cancer. Went to the kitchen, and comes back to some Twitch Fortnite filth I can't even remove. Really screams prestigious RPG forum.

Oh man, the guy that appeared in my popup is playing Brawl Stars for 5 people. That's sad.
It's even sadder when you realize that he (or someone) paid money to promote the stream and it's still only 5 people. So many people whoring themselves out believing they can make it big.

Anyway, this ad does not get past the most basic internet security technique: blocking third party scripts by default.

Got it on my phone for the first time. Covered the entire screen.

You can't be serious with this type of ad, right? It's pretty freaking intrusive.

It would still be intrusive, even if it is supposed to be only a small ad.

Please, reconsider having something like this on the site. Maybe having adblock again is the only solution.

What the hell is this? Is it some kind of an ad?

You complain about that? I get Fortnite in 4k

I was getting this same ad, so I guess the thing chooses the same stream to show to a number of users. Oddly enough 5 people were watching this too. I wonder if they are botting it, even at that level.

What's interesting is that Twitch viewer counts are so fucked up that if you get like 50 people watching you at one given moment, you're already in like the top 10% of twitch livestreams.
