Fucking CDPR.
I still can't forgive them using Geralt as the protagonist. Fanfictionecrophilia.
I always wondered why the 1st game starts out with old freakshow running through the fields with his memory lost...a plot they never revisited btw

I thought the games were re-telling the books, i didn't know they took place after them.

A plot they revisited (and explained) in TW2.

“You can go everywhere you can see, even here,” Badowski adds with a gesture. At first I assume he’s pointing to a fort at the far end of the huge, crescent shaped bay, but I’m wrong. He’s indicating the pale outline of an entirely different island.
CD Projekt needs a meme as strong as "See that mountain? You can climb it."

There’s a huge city called Novigrad, packed with enough assassins and scheming politicians to fill a Game of Thrones novel.
That actually sounds cool (if done well).

They just teleport you from assassination attempt vignette to assassination attempt vignette to avoid the tedium of walking around inside the city. :smug:

Why can't anyone make ARPG combat as awesome as Gothic 1 and 2 did?
Strike right, strike left, repeat 1000x. Seriously, even TW1 had better combat system than Gothic.

GTFO.

People actually thinking Gothic had good combat, only on the Codex.

Reading that preview it's quite easy to fish out the bullshit that's never going to end up either in the game at all or just as a one-off scripted thing.

In The Witcher 2, the repercussions of your choices dramatically shaped its three insular acts. Badowski suggests that consequences in the Witcher 3 will be more localised, but just as significant.

No more true story branches confirmed?

This will surely be shit. CDPR couldn't design a good combat system to save their lives and the open world structure will castrate the story. At least the writing will be good.

Several significant places on the big map. Big empty space between filled with foliage and monsters. That's open world for masses.

There's no reason for them to not do it. After all there was quite a piece of world in TW. It's so easy, just stretch the landscape and put there some randomly generated things.

Damn moneymakers.

What is funny, is the concept itself. It's as if they're hell- bent on beating the crap out of Bioware. Rumors on open world supposed to be in DA3? Then we make one as well! What, are we worse? Or wait, even better. Two open worlds! Beat this, Bioware!

In fact, there may be two open worlds and that's sooo justified by the original story :smug:

I wonder if it has occurred to the CDPR guys that they could double their sales if they gave Geralt a customizable appearance...hell they could triple it if they allowed you to choose a gender (Geraldine anyone?).

Polish people hate money though.

You are right, they WOULD double.

I tried the first one anyway, got bored very fast. I don't know if it was because of the un-customizable hero though.
Couldn't say. I just got bored and discontinued.
