Funny how the video has around 60% dislike ratio yet all the top comments are either extremely positive or comparing it to House of Dragons/How To Tame Your Dragon.

There was a mix-up with the outsourcing. When they asked for the new race they said they wanted a race that looks like the dragon queen. Outsourcing manager forgot the o and n when he typed it into Google translate.

True decline of Blizzord, their even cinematics sucks now.

Seriously, what the hell was that? It's not just that it looked like a trailer for one of those How to Tame a Dragon (or whatever it's called) kid's movies. It's also that it lacked any excitement or context. I played WoW for way too long and I only had any sense of what one of the things in that trailer was. Like, the electric dragon, is that a bad thing or just like... random trash mob? Why are they celebrating getting away from it in less than 5 seconds? (Don't answer, I don't actually care.)

It's a far cry from the original trailer for Vanilla or Wrath. I mean, while the Dragonflight trailer left me bored, the Vanilla trailer makes me tempted to re-sub even though I know that game is long gone.

Wasn't that the same loop with the "rifts" in Diablo 3? You run the same thing again and again on, what was the difficulty called, Inferno I through XII or so, and get the same items but with +0.02 more stun duration on abilities or whatever.
I don't know much since I played the campaign exactly once and then ran a few rifts with people that asked me to before laughing at this waste of time and uninstalling, must be the point when I was done with Blizzard in general (yeah yeah I'm slow on the uptake).
What I meant to say I think this kind of content is all modern blizzard has been capable of for quite a while.
Same things, slightly bigger numbers.

Also Val I cannot thank you enough for always putting convoluted MMO lore into terms that even I can understand, and I mean it exactly like I said it, no sarcasm.

This is like a weird soft reboot. Dragons! Adventure! King of Stormwind is missing again!

A lot of D3's team got transferred to WoW around WoD-Legion if I recall correctly. Coincidentally, also the time when systems like M+, Artifact Power, the new droppable legendary system came out, all of them mirroring D3's gameplay loop.

You need a local partner, and Blizzard's deal with Netease is apparently shit. Only 3% of Blizzard's revenue came from China last year.
I'm guessing the new admin at Microsoft doesn't want to renew such a deal, because of bad optics and lackluster returns. Or maybe a negotiating tactic, playing hard to get, and they renew it later?

Microsoft already has a relationship with Tencent or whatever.

God damn it, what the fuck did I just watch? I'm riding dragons and what then? The BC trailer had Ilidan as the big bad and fuckken demons. The Wrath trailer had Arthas and a fuck off number of undead - got it, sir! I'll get on with the exrcising.
Even the Cataclysm one had a giant fuck-off dragon and you got the idea: the world is ending, kill the fuck off dragon. But what is the vibe I'm getting from this? I just don't get it. You can argue that Pandaria was pretty vague in what it was: alliance and horde fighting, a panda breaks up the fight, shows to a whole new continent to explore. But still you had the sense of "I'm going on an adventure!". This...I just didn't feel anything, you're riding dragons, then some more dragons pop up, then the fursonas appear and...what then? Am I supposed to be killing something, protecting something? Is there a big bad? Because if I can fly in a dragon at mach-3, then I'm seeing every part of the islands in 15 minutes.
I might be dead inside but I felt nothing. Just another round in the maze.

What I find most interesting is how some in this thread think WoW was ever a great game.
