It's their own property, I don't see them changing their stance on this. And with the WOW movie coming out, they will be shutting it all down.

Rebirth is still around because it's inconsequentially small. 150 people? Might as well be single player. I'm sure Blizzard had to shell out a couple of thousand in legal fees just for a demand letter so who they go after has to be large enough to justify the expense.

Sure they can -- they simply threaten legal action on the company hosting the server(s). A hosting company has zero vested interest in defending some random people's 'rights' to play a vanilla WoW client. As I said this will never be determined by law because you will never find a defendant willing/able to face Blizzard in court.

Player: "Blizzard do you want your playerbase to be happy?"
Blizzard: "No ... you think we do, but we dont"

Hmmm... are there any TBC servers that aren't complete shit?

.. though that probably means they're lined up on blizz's chopping block anyway. Kek bur etc.

I think that Blizzard wants WoW ( as a MMO game ) dead, but they dont want to take a hit for pulling the cable off ( like for example Warhammer Online did ), they want it to die slow and steady with lower and lower player numbers and the "Its not efficient financially, we need to turn it off" at the end. And that is the only reasoning that comes to my mind why they dont want vanilla servers.

I doubt they want something that makes them money to die. I doubt WoW has come close to unsustainable levels. It's certainly not the mega-hit it was years ago but it's hardly in any winding down phase. There's plenty of other reasons why they don't want vanilla servers including the already mentioned 'admission they're wrong' thing. You can also throw in the fact that vanilla servers = players who aren't required to keep buying expansions.

What im saying is that they want to milk that cow till she dies naturally ( milking her w/o much work around ), not butchering her and becoming a villain of the century. Revitalizing her by adding vanilla servers would mean they want it to stay alive. All in all Blizz wants you to play HS and Overwatch :smug:

That petition reads more like a job application letter. They are basically saying "hey blizzard you don't want to do the work of running a legacy server, we have shown that we can do that: let's discuss financials".

Not currently. PlayTBC launches in a week but it'll probably be shit. Heard some bad stuff from their beta testers but who knows, might just be bullshit and bad mouthing.

Corecraft is coming in 2013 2014 2015 2016. They mean it this time, guys!

Fake edit: Actually I did a quick check and it turns out the release date has been pushed back to 2017. :M

I've been doing a Blender tutorial for the last two days and I mistakenly read that as "Conecraft."

It appears the vast majority of Nostalrius has moved on to Kronos. The server is swarming with lowbies, original players mad butthurt on forums, a whole different type of refugee crisis. Guess I'll dick around there for the time being.

The biggest migration targets are either Kronos or playTBC once it's released. I believe a large group of people is also waiting to see if someone picks up the nost code and database for a revival server

Is that the Ruskie server?
It's Czech.
