I'm not going to pretend that I know Sigil's setting, but from what I played of Planescape I got the impression that demons were mostly rare - probably cause they get into fights lots. I think only the ones who knew how to mind their manners were allowed into Sigil. For example, I very much remember those two demon bros chilling at Tavern who were quite eloquent and respectful towards Nameless One.

Also Lady of Pain is probably quick to kick rule breakers out.
Those were Baatezu(devils), not Tanar'ri(demons)

I couldn't tell you how many demons there are in PST but I know it's at best a couple. Devils are much more common.
also, Sigil is neutral ground. Due to the inherent chaoticness of demons, this would explain why there's so few as they'd be incapable of abiding by the rules and swiftly removed.

as a side note, I always preferred Tanar'ri/Baatezu over demons/devils tbh.

I liked how the Blood War was described (& tied into TNO's personal story) in PST, looming in the background. Otherwise dunno how different these two are from their Pathfinder counterparts, so I couldn't pick one system's fluff over the other in this regard (assuming that you were talking about fluff and not just naming conventions).

I mean, what does it mean that "All demons are able to divide their attacks amongst 2 or 3 opponents if their means allow"? So... not all demons then? What exactly does dividing ones attacks entail? How do you know if "means allow" or not?

I mean, shit, on this very forum I've seen multiple posters divide their attacks against like... 10 opponents at once!
Dividing one's attacks simply means not using all attacks against a single opponent. Not all demons have multiple attacks per round, and even those with multiple attacks per round might not be in a physical position to attack multiple opponents during any particular combat round.

Pathfinder: Wrath
I found a number of books from 3 and 3.5 editions that could provide more info on the demons.

- Book of Vile Darkness
- Fiend Folio
- Fiendish Codex I: Hordes of the Abyss
- Fiendish Codex II: Tyrants of the Nine Hells

I've skimmed through them, but have not found a definitive answer yet.
Not saying it's not there, but I'm too lazy to comb through not-OCR-ed files that I have.

What I found though, i that demons and devils sometimes have consorts and lovers.
So they definetely can feel pleasure, even of the carnal sort.
And as any cenobite (weren't they also demons?) can confirm, there's a thin line between pleasure and pain.

My point is, the demons would be pretty miserable, if they could not inflict pain to their enemies, who are more often than not are other demons.

This book is great.
Demons and devils are supposed to be the epitome of their respective alignments. It is the eternal battle between carefully cultivated and structured evil, law and justice perverted into tyranny and vengeance by the Baatezu vs the mad and brutal passion of the Tanar'ri and their appetite for depravity, destruction and suffering.
The Abyss is pretty fucked up. Ever since the earlier editions it has been established that demons are pretty much infinite in number, the Abyss is birthing them at alarming rates. The only reason they have not united to wreak havoc throughout the Planes is their constant infighting. That would be extremely BAD for the Planes, especially the Prime Material.
Also The Book of Vile Darkness is absolute cringe.

The fear of having a (relatively) fixed nature. They want to screw their eyes up and wish ever so hard that they can be anything they want to be. :)

As discussed here before, the more likely reason behind this change is that some dangerhair troon associated beings who are masters of manipulation and legalese that provide you with great material wealth in exchange for your soul with (((G*d's Chosen Tribe))) and didn't want to stereotype them as exclusively Evil.

You know, like when WotC figured Orcs are obviously real-world niggers, and then made it so that they aren't fixed as Chaotic Evil, 'cuz, you know, stereotypes are bad and stuff.

"Voluntary partner" - I know the devs are ESL, but yeah this just makes it look more suspicious.

Btw, who tells a story in present tense? He's the Storyteller, not the CYOA elf.

Thankfully, though, all of Homoteller's walls and walls of text are completely irrelevant fluff you can skip over entirely without missing a beat.

4 playthroughs in, and despite always completing his Sidequest, I literally have nary a fucking clue about his past or his fuck-toy half-elf or literally anything else about him, because I just break my keyboard hitting Space when his verbal diarrhea starts spraying.

Because people have been obsessed about sexuality since time immemorial. Ever seen Greek pornography on amphoras?

Some people. Not the ones who make great art.

Don’t confuse Ron Jeremy with Homer.
