I've watched a few videos to catch up with this. The visual and world design are god awful. Forgotten Realms has always been high fantasy cringe, but art style used to be so much better back in the day.

BG3 looks like straight out of a (gay / tranny) fever dream. Both Baldur's Gate games look like gritty low-fantasy worlds in comparison.

I said something similar to this but it really bears repeating.

"Fantasy" designs nowadays are total, utter shit. They are almost as generic as mobile games.

Not much? 90% of the game is outdoors with areas ranging from cheerful forests with bird chirping and everything, bright sea shores and even desert canoyns and shit. Having played BG1 after Diablo the game felt like opening a window in a bright summer morning by comparison.

My plan was Drow Sorcerer/Warlock but this weekend as was playing a bit of the early access with a drow warlock and the racial reactivity to just acting like a dick to everyone makes me want to play a Drow dark urge as my second "evil" playthrough.

A Dragonborn for my first playthrough would be a good alternative as the second race with more reactivity, but lack of Dark vision sucks considering how much of Act 1 and 2 is spent in dark areas. Drow racials are very good indeed.

Side tangent: there's a (formerly) popular pop song in Italy called "Gelato al cioccolato" (Chocolate Ice Cream - 1979),

It was something of a hit 45 years ago and it remained fairly popular for years. On a superficial level it sounded like your vague, generic love song and the text was about a kiss that tasted of ice cream.
The singer was also your typical "mom's favorite singer". Young, a bit of a midget, not exactly handsome but "cute" enough to be popular with a lot of women, etc.

More than 30 years later, the author (read "the writer who wrote the song for that singer") released an interview where he admitted that he wrote the song as a homage for his black lover's big penis.
Years passed now and still no one can sing that song anymore with a straight face.
The original singer was embarrassed to the point of mortification when confronted with the reveal and to this day he still refuses to perform it again.
