I don't think it's directly addressed, but was "Emperor" the one who planted the tadpole in the first place? I don't recall seeing a single illithid dressed like him, and I distinctly remember someone mentioning that one's peculiar appearance at one point.
And seeing how he ends up on the side of the netherbrain, at least in my ending.
the one who planted tadpole lies dead in gobbo camp, you can talk to his corpse.

guys im stuck on kill goblin leaders quest, i think i accepted the evil path "raid the grove" or somethin. killed two goblin leaders but now i cant raid the grove(quest gone) or find the drow bitch to kill, bricked run i think

The drow bitch is one of the "goblin leaders" you have to kill. If you spoke to her and accepted her quest to raid the grove, then let her go (she leaves if you take that quest, though you do have an opportunity to kill her as she's leaving, so you might not have to go that far back), then yeah, the "kill goblin leaders" quest is probably fucked. Although I don't know what would happen if you turned on her later, like if there's an opportunity to kill her before the actual raid happens - but I suspect you probably can't.
There is, you are supposed to get to the grove and open the gate for them, but might as well change sides and help to defend the grove - both sides think you are on their side.

i mean yeah, the brain plan was to create weapons to both neutralize orpheus and to kill the chosen. emperor was a pawn. he does not side with the brain, when orpheus does not mindshield him since he s a flayer the brain calls him back

besides that, here s something i ve found https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/661

it s not like it makes encounters more interesting per se, but even the pseudo owlcat modifiers are quite something if some of you want to play it again in a harder setting

Jeez have you guys seen all this cut content for the Drow henchman?
If you mean Minthara, then the devs have been silent on the matter thus far so who knows. Might be cut content or it might be bugs. In either case, I'm quite disappointed by it since I like her character and it's not like we have that many companions that fit well with an evil playthrough (kinda makes me want to wait for further patches before continuing with the game).

Agreed on all counts. She would have been the most fascinating romance option and even her backstory, voice actor, and dialogue are leaps & bounds above some of the spergy shit the other companions offer. But its SO limited in comparison to them sadly. However, having spent a LOT of time trying to interact with her it's 100% obvious to me she is half-baked and a victim of "she didn't get enough attention in Early Access". It is easy to see why Shadowheart is Best Girl, what are the other options? Michael Jackson's evil twin frog sister or the brutish red bull-dyke with the potty mouth? Tough choice!

Barbarian owns. This is how i broke the elf bitch out of her poz cage at the beginning:

Anyway, thoughts after restarting on tactician:

- tactician is the difficulty of choice IMO. Balanced was way too easy, OTOH - balanced in co-op actually seemed better, well, balanced (or it could just be that my friend is a retard)

- game isn't quite as pozzed as I took it to be in my initial impression. Dont get me wrong, its GAY. But I haven't had an onslaught of longhouse propaganda yet, beyond the boilerplate libshit universalist stuff. Seems to me the biggest problem is Larian was just way too generous with flagging player dialogue for buttsex greenlight, which is probably just a side effect of trying to fan service to a demographic of increasingly coomerbrained people who want to get to the porn and jack off without all that bothersome character development.

- The hirelings are pretty underwhelming. I needed a rogue to fill in after I slayed astarion for trying to suck on me while I was sleeping, and what I got was a selection of characters that looked like a reddit meetup. I ended up picking the drow ranger because he was the only non-cringe looking character, aside from his stupid ass hair. Really dumb oversight by Larian to not just let players generate characters here.

Companion content is ultra frontloaded. Halsin, Karlach, Minthara, Minsc and Jaheira have waaaaaay less content too.

Larian shouldn't have implemented her as a companion at all if they didn't have the time to properly expand on her content.
I haven't beaten the game, but from what I've seen:
  • Astarion, Gale, Lae'zel and Shadowheart are the core party, and very well developed and integrated into the world and game
  • Karlach and Wyll are like good DLC content, tacked on, with enough integration
  • Halsin and Minthara are like bad DLC content, tacked on with little integration
  • the returning BG2 characters seem meh and could've just been NPCs

I haven't even finished Moonrise towers due to work and... now the cooling unit to my CPU is failing. I was just about to finish the creche and a few kills shy of level 7. Damn it.

We need a thread for Larian lies, there were so many. That was in 2020:

https://steamcommunity.com/games/1086940/announcements/detail/4360001904749548892

During the panel we gave a couple of examples of how the depth of Baldur’s Gate 3 made our numbers soar. We showcased the spell “Speak with Dead”. A spell that could (and potentially should) be easily sidelined or “gamified” because of the immense scope, but instead we’ve ensured that Speak with Dead is relevant throughout your adventures with every corpse that had something interesting to say.

Meanwhile 3 years later, the spell was completely "gamified and sidelined" and using it on 99% of corpses results in *the corpse has nothing to say*

It seems they mostly focused on delivering massive amount of animations, cinematics and voice acting, every other truly ambitious idea was abandoned at some point in development.
Thats game development in 2023 for you. Always overpromising, and underdelivering. Except for Todd. Todd Howard is going to save gaming and by extension the world, and it's going to be bigly tremendous.

That's how game development has been done since the beginning. Hardly a new development

I wonder if that'll change in the future (whether through paid DLC or significant free patches that add content). Someone ITT praised DOS2's final/enhanced/whatever edition for adding extra stuff, but I'm not familiar with how significant the additions were for that game.

Insert Title Here Pathfinder: Wrath
Are any of the other domains for Clerics any good or is it just light domain all the way?
Yosharian put together a vid. It’s not a one weird trick ruleset. Every subclass has unique features that can significantly change the way you play the game if you take the time to familiarize yourself with the abilities.

I actually decided to play a women character to make all the things making passes at me less cringe. At least a girl on girl if it ends up happening by accident I can deal with a lot more than my big bad fighter I sort of ego tie to myself being suddenly ass rammed by some hobgoblin just because I gave him a head nod. I am still trying to actually avoid anything making passes at me, but I can tell its going to be futile, everything is trying to fuck me...
As far as I can tell, Gale never makes a pass if the player refuses to experience his "Weave", Halsin has a few dialogue options at the party one of which is a rude dismissal (telling him to go mingle with others does result in one awkward statement after the party, but you can shut him down at that point), Astarion was killed by me at the initial meeting, and Wyll is currently a corpse that remains in camp as the party moves from location to location.

Either my game is buggy or some Codexers made poor choices. :M
well its not just the direct "stick you dick in me" shit, its just every character feels like that weird 37 old drunk guy at the frat party giving off weirdo vibes to all the sorority girls , or perhaps sort of like porn music is turned on in the background whenever you engage in conversation w/ your companions. Its a weird gross vibe, its more like it just feels cringe to have to pick dialogue selections from most of your companions that will reveal an odd and poorly written avenue to go down goes which I was not interested in going down in the first place all in order to please a clientele who I suppose they feel wants that sort of thing.

So, act III:

The city looks amazing, as expected. The draw distance and detail on this engine is unreal.

It seems that act 3 is a lot more "open" than the previous 2, and I'm not sure that's a good thing. What makes this game so good so far was the tight focus and sense of adventure.

Also the librul cringe is starting to show:

-Muh refugees everywhere asking for food, and the citizens being neglected. As if in wartime the massive, crowded CITY is the place with the food and the FARMS are starving. Ever heard of sieges, Larian?
-Stumbled onto a beach after exploring some caves, found tieflings fighting and one called me a cuck  for not choosing a side. Really?
