So when I bitch about this eventually, they can't fall back to the argument of not finishing this garbage to invalidate criticism.

Clearly you don't know how it works.

<10 hours - you hardly played the game
>10 and <20 hours - still only scratched the surface, dude
>20 and <40 hours - you didn't even finish it!
>40 and/ or finished the game - you played so much that's proof that you like it! Who would finish a game he doesn't like??

Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Codex+ Now Streaming! Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Damn, Shadowheart, one of the two bearable and likeable companions, leaves you if you
allow Balthazaar to take Nightsong back to the commander

:negative:

The only choice I made but now think I will reload the game because I don't want to lose her. She and Minthara are the only party members that don't make me cringe and I want to keep them until the end.

Keep her and fuck her.
Is that right?

I find it odd that there are two completely separate quests where you act as an intermediary between gay deep gnomes who are having relationship troubles. Did two writers come up with gay deep gnome side quests separately and the lead didn't have the heart to tell one of them it had already been done? Or is there just one writer who's really into them?

I always imagined gnomes to be gay honestly.

Fabulously successful new entry in genre with 1 mil players: hurr, durr genre's dead.
A game aimed at Redditors, Streamers and Journos.

Aka "wanting to make money."

Sorry codexers, one of the first rules of being a grognard is that nobody makes anything to suit your tastes, and that's why everything is shit.

Game's alright. They just leaned way too hard towards this audience, but is anyone surprised? It's a BioWare game made by Larian.

BG3 has the most insane enemy variety of any modern RPG, not even close. Even if you compare it against other games with huge enemy variety like BG2, BG2 has *many* enemies which are just different coloured HP bags. The amount of times you fight unique enemies in BG3 is just fucking nuts.

Yes, which is why it's a shame that all this effort is wasted, due to bad balancing making all these fights still feel the same, and any difference being purely aesthetic.

Still better than the live service and gacha gambling addicts. Come, brothers, there are DLC consumers to smite.
I just want to, respectfully, point out that the BG games have had 1 piece of DLC each, so far. It's not out of the realm of possibility that tradition will want to be maintained and Larian has already been asked to produce the DLC to BG III.

I wouldn't classify TOTSC/TOB as cashgrab DLC given that at the time you were getting them with a shiny big box, thicc manual and for reduced price compared to the main game while the campaigns could last well above 10/20 hours.

BG3 *might* end up having an expansion but with Larian's story of releasing enhanced editions for free I'd say it's more likely they do that again and just add a couple quests from cut content, maybe an extra level or two. And if they actually do an expansion it will probably be much more in TOB/Brood War territory than even something like the POE DLC. not to speak of horse armor DLC and other live service shenanigans.

Yeah, the HLAs alone were more design/gameplay implementation work than most devs bother to do nowadays.

I think it's hard to separate TOB's content from its systems. The imbalanced nature of epic levels aside, I think the best part of ToB is the Demigorgon dungeon and the high level abilities, but... the ToB storyline/quests/areas/etc are just really lame.

Agree with the sentiment overall, but disagree about this part. Some people still make good shit that suits the tastes of prestigious old gamers. Battle Brothers for example, is relatively modern, but still pretty close to being a perfect game, legit timeless masterpiece.

Oh, for sure, TOB had its fair share of issues. I think the TOTSC approach where you add a new area mid-campaign is likely to work better and not feel as forced.

Yeah, but these good part were really good. Watcher's keep is still one my favourite dungeons. It was worth getting ToB just for that

Like I said we will be harvesting tears for years to come from codextards that can't deal with BG3 being the most successful CRPG ever made.
