All races are half-elf now? Why? For sake of story?
IMO, the same reason Wizards asked them not to use alignments.

There's a lot of streamlining Wizards wants to do and this is the perfect opportunity to get people used to it. They openly wanted to eliminate half-races and probably want the concept of race in general to go away, replaced by cosmetic choices, which is kind of what this change makes them.

And way normies thinks about this idiotic choices?

The vampire is queerbait twink, a hedonist who always complains, but always goes along. You've seen this character on TV.
He's also an egotistical asshole who despises compassion with those he deems weaker. If you can get past his foppish mannerism he's probably one of the more interesting companions.

You can get a good two-handed sword from the demon during the prologuecrash scene.

Take the brain pet and send it into the pod during the battle- touching it will heal you.

Keep the Illithid alive by throwing potions at him.

Leave at least one imp alive, killing all enemies will turn the illithid againts you.

Send one companion to the wheel- so you can instantly trigger cutscene

Heal, fight and After demon commander dies- loot sword from his corpse and get out.

You can reach level 2 here right off the bad btw, if you manage to kill everything that spawns. I think they will add timer on release tho.

I doubt it. It's the tutorial area. And the boss demon is already on a "timer" in that he summons more strong mobs after a while. Getting the sword should be semi-challenging on Tactician for a tutorial.

So lads, I'm thinking to start as my usual set up, dwarf fighter with axe an board. While I probably pick Battle Master as a subclass, I'm also curious about Champion mostly because lack of information.
While reduced crit range sounds fun, that subclass don't offer much then that. Anyone have moreknowladge about it?

Champion is the banalshitboring class. Avoid at all cost. Really I'd recommend any subclass in the game over it.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
You can never go wrong with fighter, its basically the baseline for most RPGs
The Battle Master archetype is really cool. Beyond fighters in 5E simply having excellent saves, action economy, and tons of feats, the Battle Master gets combat maneuvers that are really handy. They can do way more than just auto-attack. Making a polearm specialist with a battle master is very powerful and fun.
This sounds intredasting. What is intredasting about it?

Battlemaster gets dice to use for maneuvers, so lot of options. Polearm is fun if they implement Polearm Master and Sentinel properly, because then you can hit people when they enter 10-foot reach and reduce their movement to 0, so they can't touch you.

My head hurts from planning out this build. There's no way some of the feats can be added to the game as RAW - e.g. War Caster does something that the game has in by default. But I need to know which feats are in to plan Ability Scores :argh:

you prolly start over again halfway into the game anyway to create the perfectly optimized build, no need to worry now

Nah, I never do that (except for UnderRail, that was a special case). And you can respec in this game anyway.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Pathfinder: Wrath
I'm probably going Arcane Trickster so I won't need Astorian. I want shadowheart as a cleric and I would need a wizard so I would go with gale. I'm not sure who should the last one be. If I get Lae'zel it will just be the normal boring composition. I may respec her or get that drow paladin (I haven't played past the first month of EA so I didn't meet her in-game)

The issue is I'm not sure if it's worth it to try to maximize the damage output of my rogue since I could use haste on my fighter/paladin even counting the sneak attack which wouldn't stack on a lot of damage in comparison. Also, is it possible to get my ability score to 20 by level 12? Maybe if I started with an Elf?

I'm basically in the same boat, but playing as a Bard (I'll take on the rogue role too).
I was thinking of taking 2 levels of Warlock to have damage, but I am not sure anymore. Maybe I just want to get to Bard 6 as fast as possible?
ARRRRRRRGHHHHHH I'll just impulsively make a decision and go with it in the actual game, but waiting for it I can't make up my mind.

I actually loved the durge va and intro. Seems that by default he is a redemption arc character.

I suppose they looked at playdata and feedback and reached the(obvious) conclusion that most people want to play this origin this way.

whydoibother Bard is tough to pass. I particularly like the Lore College. Bards can basically replace the wizard in 5E. The really good wizard stuff comes late. Lore college lets bards also replace the party thief/rogue, and do much of the cleric's job (@CL6 and up) too. Unless they raise the level cap by the time I play this, I'm probably rolling a bard. It's really the perfect MC.
