Note that %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games is only the default location (as is C:\Users\[User] for the user profile) so there is effectively one more variation: Imbecile developers that hard-code %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games vs those who do it properly and query the path for FOLDERID_SavedGames which may or may not resolve to the same path depending on user settings.
Gaming died when devs stopped using the game's folder as the save game location.
Nothing decided by developers, it was enforced by stricter permissions settings on the Program Files directory (starting windows Vista if I'm not mistaken) by Microsoft.Gaming died when devs stopped using the game's folder as the save game location.
Is it over for the NCR bros? What if Astartes but about NCR's capture of HELIOS One?
(okay, it's nowhere near Astartes but still cool)

post the cute redheadVideos my youtube algorithm gives me:I put youtube videos on about random shit while I'm working around the house or browsing the Codex.Bro... how the heck do you know this shit? The naked dude in the first video is IShowSpeed, who has made a living out of being a fucking asshole. He recently got into major trouble when he had a jump scare playing a horror game, he physically jumped and and accidentally revealed he had his dick out. This got him a temporary ban (which could have been way worse since he only turned 18 early that year) but he's back to streaming, except now he gets called IShowMeat all the time much to his annoyance. The people playing and the people making those games deserve each other.

While I agree that the current situation is awful (the appdata folder is a particular travesty since it's hidden by default), it is good to have a single folder for this in case you need to upgrade/migrate your computer. Instead of copying a dozen different folder in various places, just copy and paste the user folder and you're done.Gaming died when devs stopped using the game's folder as the save game location.
Probably with Arcanum then, it was always the game I could never find where the fuck the save files were when wanting to move from one pc to another.Gaming died when devs stopped using the game's folder as the save game location.
My main issues is that, for one, I find that it makes much more sense to me for the save files to be present in the same directory as the rest of the game files. Back in ye olde days, when Windows was more prone to malware and general bugs than it is now, I used to install all my games on a partition other than Windows because I used to regularly have to re-install Windows after the inevitable bugs/viruses that plagued the system at the time, so having the games on a separate partition entirely meant that at least those were safe, including my progress data. Windows 7 was the last version that I used and I found it to be very stable compared to the older ones, but old habits and notions die hard I suppose. While I agree that the current situation is awful (the appdata folder is a particular travesty since it's hidden by default), it is good to have a single folder for this in case you need to upgrade/migrate your computer.
