Getting some issue where the fps gets lower and lower the longer I play. Don't remember that happening before patch 1.05, but I may be wrong. I mean, I played it for like 8 hours straight before and it was still running ok.

Mandatory game restarts it is...

Might be CPU/GPU temperature?

Wow ENXGMA's physics/systems comparisons between CP2077 and GTA5/4.... just wow. I know I said previously that it's a somewhat apples to oranges comparison but holy shit does this game get shat on from a great height on this particular thing.
Dude Rockstar spent a lot of dough developing that system nobody has anything like it and they dont sell it.
Ahhh nobody would have cared if it was good game, but it isn't really.

Anyone else impressed by how meaningless the levelling system is? There is like 100 skills you could spend perks in,but all of them are pretty much the same shit. Most of them are all about chose a weapon and do more damage with it. Only exceptions are hacking and crafting....and half of those trees are about do more damage with shit thing.

Partially true. Most starting Perks are slow percentage increases (that have multiple levels)*, but later on, you open up specific abilities that enable you to slow down time, reload and/or shoot during special moves, double jump, being unlockable, and so on.
*same as Fallout really. In fact, most of the Perks were lifted straight from it. Fallout was better though because it had more unique ones (although people overexaggerate it by a lot - it almost seems like people are thinking of Traits instead) and because they had to invent them in the first place.

How is that partially true??? I said that they unlock things that make you kill people easy, not that they are just %update lol. 99% of skills are boring combat shit,it would have been better if they stream lined it and made 20-30 interesting perks than 5 different perks that do the same shit.

Not a chance. My cooling setup handles both going 100% just fine...

I'm certain my performance got worse with 1.05. Certain spots like Jig Jig Street ran always at low 20s, but now I'm even getting sub 30 fps in the city at times. Shit got noticeably worse to the point where I just turned off RTX. Game runs obviously smooth now, but I do miss some RTX features after playing so long with them enabled. CPU utilization is also lower with 1.05 than it was with 1.04 while using the hex editor fix, which doesn't seem to work now.

You cannot be serious.

I guess it depends on what kind of core gameplay you have a bias toward. These modern open world checklist games are all very similar, really. I haven't even played a ton of them but "enter setting, get main mission cutscene or side quest bare bones story setup, follow marker to location, do the combat type thing, press 'F' on the thing, go on to the next" is the basic formula for all of them. I much prefer stealth and pistols in first-person in a sci-fi setting to whacking dudes with a sword in third-person in a Tolkien homage setting, so this game does it for me more than the rest. While my preferences might incline me to see this as the better of these checklist games though, I really don't see an argument for it being worse than average. On PC anyway, the console versions seem to be completely fucked.

I wish it were a more crafted Deus Ex (or Witcher 2!) style experience with better RPG aspects, but once it was known to be open world I feel like it being... well, an open world game... was inevitable. I was hoping it would be open world Deus Ex 3 rather than Far Cry 3, and I think I mostly got that. It was never going to be what people here really wanted though.

Are MAX-TAC even in the game aside from that moment where they wreck some hobos in the prologue?

You see them once or twice in static locations, and they teleport in after you if there's a high enough bounty.

Don't expect anything cool.

There is a cringefest side mission with MAX-TAC in a clothing store, connected to the first cgi trailer of the game but cringefest nonetheless. Might be the worst piece of writing in the game.

You should be able to call them AFAIK, but in most cases, they won't answer. You can even question them about their past, Regina about her journalism and such.

I don't mind the mix of messaging and calls back. It's obviously a workaround for if they have a new quest idea but they can't get the voice actor in, and that's fine, it's a decent workaround.

My collector's edition arrived today, together with an " Excloosive Maelstrom Steelbook" for preordering from Amazon.

Best Bro Dum Dum is featured prominently on the back cover.

Together with the other Steelbook included in the collector's edition, I now have 2 Steelbook cases for a game that doesn't come with any game disks to put in the Steelbook(s).

It did contain 2 cds for the soundtrack, at least. I might put these in the Steelbooks.

The concept art certainly looks nice enough, but then again you could say the same thing for Mass Effect really.

They made a strange reference to the placebo effect of that memory file change where they said any positive changes were down to reloading the game.

Does Dum Dum show up at all beyond that mission? Or does he just drop in for a single sidequest and that's it? What's with CPDR introducing all these interesting characters and they just drop off the face of the planet?

What fantastic game is there out there that does all these wonderful things you seem to be expecting and missing from this game? I mean your complaints here just seem like generic complaints about modern games, and I suppose that's fair enough, but if you're singling out this game for these flaws, that seems unfair.

I don't think I've seen a skill tree in any game ever that doesn't have a bunch of things that are just small percentage hike padding - but that's the point isn't it, only if you invest in 3 of the smaller percentages do you have something meaningful; but if you're specializing in the thing then that triple hike, and the consequent sacrifice of other points in other areas, is right and proper.

It's only if that sacrifice with that speciality is way more or way less effective than an equivalent sacrifice in another speciality that you can say the system is problematic - if investing 3 points for 10% damage in one tree is out of whack (in terms of results) with investing 3 points for 10% damage in another tree, then there's a problem, a balance problem.

I just don't get criticism like, "This game is "shit" compared to the ideal fantastic game in my head." Surely if you've been playing games for years, you have a general sense of the limitations, the possibilities and the usual practices?

I started this game planning to mostly utilize hacking, stealth and stealth assassinations. After some time I've decided to go jack-of-all-trades and do a bit of everything and not be OP in anything.
Somewhere between 20 and 30 hours my revolver was doing up to 7000 damage headshots even from longer distances, and I've had around 400 pistol ammo.
Cover shooting became boring (more than it normally is), so I've decided that I need to utilize more grenades to end fights quickly. I've crafted over 100 grenades (and could craft way more) and became a fucking grenadier, winning shootouts by grenade barrage.
Stealthing became too easy thanks to unlimited hacks.
Eventually the only playstyles that remained any fun were pure stealth and non-cover shooting (which became more viable later in the game).
And all of it was on the hardest difficulty. It seems that no one tested the game's systems. You can become OP even if you don't try (you can even become immortal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xeYTsMpGOw). But at least bugs weren't OP. I've had relatively few, minor bugs.
And I must say that the game's launch was proper cyberpunk - a mix of living on the edge and corporate fuckery...

He shows up at least once more, during a mission at a Maelstrom club. Provided you didn't kill everyone during that first act 1 mission, of course.

I plan my second playthrough with either no perks or absolutely limited ammount of them and some cyberware, unless some rebalance mod comes out first
