Edit: It's game logic, anyway. The corporations have stations in space and on the moon. To think that a group of desert dwellers could get away with a scheme like that without being found out breaks my suspension of disbelief. In principle, Cyberpunk shows its age here. While the topic is corporate control, the topic isn't really thought through to the bitter end. On the other hand, that's what makes up its nostalgic charm.

Keep in mind that at this point Arasaka is led by someone who wants to destroy this corp. Him letting such people who caused so much damage to Arasaka get away makes sense.
And in the original RPG, the (first) raid on Arasaka's HQ in NC was done by a group backed by Arasaka's main rival, Militech.

We were talking about the nomads stealing that Basilisk from Militech. I assume Militech will have access to military tech.

Man, those flashbacks with Johnny are so fucking dumb. Yeah, sure, you just got pissed, got a few dudes and just raided the Arasaka Tower by doing pew pew on a few shooting galleries... I'm aware of the version of events from the pnp what makes the way they decided to depict the whole thing on the game even more retarded.
I think it gets worse later with Rogue. You feel like you're in the wrong film.

Is a 2019 laptop even viable to play this game? Mine has Nvidia and glossing over posts I caught Nvidia + CP2077 = shit.

The radio has also talked about lawsuits against CDPR and the serious trouble the company will be in.

Will they go bankrupt?

Will Bill Gates trun into an amoeba and absorb the company into Microsoft?

Will CP2077 be taken off the market completely?

ISIS managed to steal tanks and APCs from the Iraqi and Syrian armies, and they're the definition of desert nomad raiders.
Yes, but all of that was recorded, even today. In this game, we are talking about a group that settles at the edge of the power center of these companies, plus in a world with even higher technical abilities to track things. They could even just retrieve memories from some of the soldiers that died during the battle and immediately know who did it. Similar approaches happen even in-game with normal crimes.

Edit: I'm really not interested in discussing internal consistency issues in these virtual worlds in detail, as you will always find something in pretty much all settings. This specific operation just looked like a more egregious example of what should not work in the setting.

I was shocked to discover that the possibility of mouse turning a vehicle is in the game (the tank). Why the fuck didn't they implement an option for mouse turning for the cars and bikes for PC?

Because it is horrible to drive. Borderlands has that feature and its driving is one of the shittiest mostly due to mouse control instead of WSAD.

When it comes to driving games on kayboard you have to learn doing pressing impulses. So if you want to turn gradually you have to quickly press A or D in impuilses which will lead to smooth turn.

Aside from that there isn't really anything you can do. Keyboard is inheritently shitty for anything that requires smooth controls. For years i wanted keyboard with some sticks attached to it alas no one made such a thing.

YMMV but I find mouse steering of vehicles much more congenial. Anyway, I said "option."
Another thing the driving is in dire need of Cruise Control. I just dunno how they missed that. Alternatively, I'd have liked to see a more sophisticated control scheme, something like:

Forward - gradually accelerate and stay there when you lift off
Backward - decelerate, inverse of above
Shift - stick it in neutral, like lifting off Forward does now
Crouch - reverse
Jump - slam breaks

Wouldn't need Cruise Control and I suspect it would give a smoother ride on a keyboard, even if it's a little fiddlier at first. I also wouldn't mind a mouse steer option, probably wouldn't work well but I'd be curious to give it a go.

Electronic Arts originated as an exemplary publisher before transforming into an execrable developer.

Back when nerds looked like normal humans, mostly.

Do the male NPCs have some sort of bathroom routines too where they just whip it out and piss, is that why there's "water" coming out of him?

btw. you guys noticed the quest names being song names? imitating the GOAT RPG again :smug:

It started with Witcher 3 but they have really increased in amount here, there's what, at least two Beatles songs refereced?

Even after 110 hours I managed to come across an area with a distinct style I haven't seen before
The legion of slavs working on this can't QA for shit nor do any of them know about compelling gameplay but they can churn out unique locations like nobody's business.
I'm constantly annoyed by a horde of minor bugs and rough interfaces but, to be fair, the QA process was probably hardest hit by remote work under the pandemic. You're down to relying exclusively on the testers flagging issues individually, rather than also being able to supervise the lot of them as they play.

And also, it's a probabilities and percentages thing isn't it? I mean I played the game for something like 20 hours before I encountered my first floating NPC, and it took even longer for a T-pose to show up (and that's with a fairly old, weak PC). But clearly some people encountered those kinds of things from the beginning of their play. Even with the retadred traffic shenanigans, it took a while before I saw any of that.

Quest-breaking bugs have been very rare too, although understandably they do appear more the deeper into the game you go. e.g. the one where if you use the tunnel by the Raffens base in Panam's "rescue Saul" quest, if you go straight to Saul sometimes he doesn't "activate", the game's still expecting you to go through the main base. If you save before approaching the tunnel, before the "hostile area" red outline appears on the minimap, you can try that route several times, and sometimes the bug will occur, sometimes it won't. Also, some people will encounter entire clumps of bugs and some won't.

And all that's why even with the best will in the world, even games that have been thoroughly Q&A tested will still show up some bugs when the game's gone out to large numbers of people.

But things like teleporting cops were obviously a design decision at some point (probably putting the lid a more sophisticated system they'd planned but couldn't finish in time). And I think that's my long-term worry for the game - whether there are some things that are so baked into the design by now that they're unlikely to ever be changed. I mean, was the better cops system completely removed from the game, or are there still aspects of it in there such that CDPR could theoretically go back and re-do it in a few months? I don't know enough about coding to say, but I hope so.

He means the 'open world/living city' aspect. The nonfuctional or barely functional AI for police, pedestrians, NPC cars etc. Lack of interaction.

Its pretty shockingly bad particularly given all the hype CDPR was spewing over it.

Yeah, the way I think of it is lack of responsiveness (responsivity?) to player action. It truly looks and sounds fantastic all-round, in every way, visually and aurally it's deeply immersive; but it's paper-thin in terms of reacting to the player, which pulls you right out of the immersion that the visuals and audio have worked so hard to induce.

IOW, it feels unbelievably real when I'm cruising through the city on my Kusanagi at night in the rain, listening to Miles Davis on the radio, but as soon as some traffic nonsense occurs, or I get off the bike and try to interact with the world in any freewheeling sort of way, the illusion breaks down pretty quickly.

Or again, if I get off my bike and interact at a criminal hotspot, it feels pretty real again, if the AI is acting properly, they're shouting comments at each other, etc.. But half the time the AI will just stand there like a lemon, so the illusion breaks down again.

110 hours and I still got my V-card. Think I'm one quest away from turning down Panam's mocha minge.

It seems really weird that they gate the entire boxing champ quest line behind a skill requirement when as far as I can tell no other quests are like that.

GPS in this game sucks, and I wish the quest logs were more verbose. If you come back to a quest after some time, there is hardly any record of what you have accomplished or what is required to finish the quest.

My experience is that basically if you don't have a strength build the final match is almost impossible (if not the the previous fight too). See my pic posted above to see how I cheesed the last match. Previously to that I ended up queuing up a laser grenade outside of the the ring area and dropping it on their feet just before the dialogue trigger (you cannot do this in the final round). I did all the boxing matches at 8 body (with legendary gorilla arms after match 3).

Besides, they have scenes where Keanu Reeves blows up half of Arasaka security alone with his revolver then I'm supposedly to believe this is a realistic dystopic setting
You're not, CDPR just bullshitting us with historical revisionism. The main metaplot from pnp is conflict between Arasaka and Militech. Johnny was part of one strike team led by another legenday figure, Morgan Blackhand, who is absent from flashbacks. Silverdick was a pawn in hands of one side of the conflict, not a revolutionary figure. In cp2077, Militech is not in the focus of the plot.

damn I'd be angry if I was familiar with the lore

leddit said:
They basically folded Johnny and Morgan together into one character. Like, the nuke the tower sequence? That was Morgan's op, not Johnny's. The bomb? That was Morgan's team, Johnny didn't even know about it (and this is a point which cuts across a greater part of the lore and history of Night City which is sort of brushed over in the game). The rivalry with Smasher? Was completely a Morgan thing, Smasher didn't give two shits about Johnny.

altho

Alt did say Johnny's memories aren't accurate, could CDPR use that if they decide to introduce Morgan B etc?
mb mesh was datamined
there's a leak about mb dlc
johnnys memories are confirmed unreliable, so much that he erased mb from his head. must have cucked him hard at some point.

Congrats to CDPR for capturing not only one, but TWO, spots on the year's TOP GAMES PLAYED WITH A CONTROLLER
En4Grek.png

lol

Plebs crouching over their janky keyboard and mouse setup was part of the timeworn ritual when CDPR still made PC games (The Witcher 1.)

Now the poor cuckolds have the worst of both worlds: simplified action adventure games to play, and using more complex, less intuitive input devices to play them with.

Isn't that as it should be? What I'm missing is an option to just refuse that quest line, given you shouldn't stand a chance as a pure netrunner build for example.

If you want to cheat, there are still ways to cheese this with a melee weapon. You have to drop it in the ring before you initiate dialog. You can pick the weapon up after the fight starts. There's a popup that this action is blocked, but it works, anyway. (If you did that, sorry, don't see the pics you talk of in your posts).

100% crit chance and 200% crit damage

There is cap for crit % and crit damage I reported like week ago lol. No 100% crit chance and 200 crit mult exist unless it is a bug.
