There are people here who associate Troubleshooter with consoles when its PC only title that doesn't even have controller support.

I wonder why would that be.

Also, I give my full credit to my earlier post for propelling Troubleshooter into the lead, despite it being a belated addition to the poll.

None of the above is still in the lead, and I hope to god the Codex goes through and actually makes it the official GOTY when it's time.

As for Troubleshooter, I have one question and one question only that will determine its worthiness as an RPG:

Does it have romances?

Fuck console only shit.
you will never be a woman

I'm glad to be wrong then. Would you recommend that I spend money on buying it?

I love Yakuza, it's my favorite series. Like A Dragon is my GOTY, but the series is very much an acquired taste. There's a shitton of cut scenes and J-drama galore. If you're not into that thing, you might as well skip it. Troubleshooter is my runner up. While it is undeniably a weeb game, the gameplay makes up for it for most people. There's lot of customization, fun missions and hours upon hours of great gameplay. It's the most fun I have had with this type of game in a long time. I don't tell people what to spend their money on, but since you asked (sarcastically or not), this is a game that I think a lot of the Codex might enbjoy. The only question is if they dare to admit it publicly. The developers are also real bros, constant updates and they are not full of themselves. Haven't met more humble developers than this team.

Sir, Troubleshooter has controller support! (I'm using KB + M, but it does have it.)
It does?
Doesn't seem to recognize my cheap Gamestop-controller.
It recognizes my Dual Shock 3.

I see that their store page does not mention controller support at all, but I double checked, and it works.

There are slow-burning romances involving some of the characters, although the player has no control over their progression, and any further development will await a sequel.

Wait so is this even an RPG?

From what I can tell, it's the kind of tactical role playing game where you control your characters' stats, but not the direction of the narrative(e.g. four different ways of saying the same thing https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/ste...65395fc24697239110.1920x1080.jpg?t=1606729839).

For the total package there's always Wasteland 3.

To be fair, the scene on this screenshot is an insight into Irene's "streamlined" thought process, and it's supposed to be comical.
There are C&C, some of the them change missions drastically.
The first (or was it second?) after-tutorial mission allows you to either get up to 3 additional squad members or do it by all your lonesome depending on dialog options you take.
Some missions can play completely differently from perspective of different characters.
But it is true that these choices don't have consequence that last beyond a single mission.

It's possible for Albert Albus Bernstein to be joined by up to 4 additional squad members in that mission (possibly up to 5, if there's a dialogue option that causes both Ray and Leton to assist rather than only Ray). After being joined by Ray and Irene, when Albus encounters Bianca and Alisa, there's a dialogue option that results in Albus staring at Alisa's vast tracts of land, which causes Bianca to become jealous and therefore remain with Alisa to assist in the mission. Albus is subsequently embarrassed when this is brought up after the mission ends, although Alisa doesn't mind.

that one has a hero fetish and a simple one-track mind.. its a running gag with her thoughts and options.
usually after they describe the situation they ask you what position will you approach from, or will you do a cleanup after main objective is done or what will composition of police forces be .
