Care to elaborate? I tried to play a couple of games but always stumbled upon the same problems.
I wouldn't mind the name of an emulator doing this nor a how to link either.

I use DeSmuMe, then under "View" > "LCDs Layout" you check "One LCD".
Under "Config" > "Hotkey Config" go to "Tools", put in whatever button you want for "LCD Swap" and then you can reference that button somewhere on your gamepad (for me the easiest to do via JoyToKey).

It's not useful for all games, as some have gameplay stuff on both screens, but a lot of games really only require one active screen (the NDS Castlevania games for example).

As for the pure blobber thing, first, I don't think such thing ever existed, second, Wizardry 8 formation is an improvement over other Blobbers.
You've never heard of those blobbers with step based movements and no formations?
Anyway, I'm not saying formation is not an improvement.

Maybe it is because of the tactical field combat arena. Blobbers with turn-based combat via text or first-person attack field of view seem to be the requirement.

....I guess.

Also apparently Wiz8 is a blobber but the Realms of Arkania games aren't

Operencia comes out next year and isn't even early access. Bard's Tale 4 is in the list of partial blobbers with non-blobber tactical combat - together with Uukrul, Goldbox games, RoA and others.

If you have a foldable smartphone it's quite nice but yes, on the PC I've never been a fan of emulating Etrian or Dark Spire. You'll want a foldable and a stylus.
There is no stylus work required with Dark Spire like there is with EO) so emulation that places the two screens next to each other works fine.

and the level scaling is anti-Codexian.
It actually has minimal traditional level scaling. When I was making my mod to remove respawns I learned a bit about how it works and it appears it actually spawns different enemies depending on your level.
So, no oblivion-tier enemies that merely scale up in level/equipment, but actually unique and different enemies depending on your level.

That's how Oblivion level scaling works for monsters and animals. Entire species just disappear from the game world and are replaced by new types as you get stronger.

The cutest effect of level scaling in Oblivion is when Ambrose the Robber Kitten suddenly starts wearing Glass Armour worth thousands of gold, but he still only demands 100 (I think it was) gold from you.

Also, there's a bunch of items with low drop chances in wiz8. I guess it's probably something that bigger fans of the game would be aware of, but it surprised me a bit that the massive majority of players would never see some of the items because they drop on a mob with an absurdly low spawn chance with an absurdly low drop chance.

Those are more for soloers/small parties I think because the chances go up as you hit absurdly high levels, and some of the best items aren't even available unless you're high level (up to lvl 31).

New entry:

Anyone tried it yet?

Yes.

*Incredibly* satisfying Might & Magic-style Dungeon Crawler CRPG!! As soon as I discovered this game I knew I was onto something special. It's lo-fi, a bit 'clunky' if you will but exceeds with tons of charm, RPG depth and loads of ADVENTURE! Highest recommendation if you're a fan of RPGs in general, Bravo dev(s)!!

so...can someone do this but for Dungeon Master style real-time games?

or would that be a moot point and everyone would vote for Dungeon Master anyways?

Lands of Lore, the apex of 90's blobbers, wins out over even Dungeon Master. not too shocking when thinking about it.

Wizardry 8 being so high here still boggles...i see that as more a real time thing than turn based...

Wizardry 3.0 is the best version of the classic; with it's minor fixes and played on a good emulator, it's fuckin' great. if folks actually played that it'd get a better score.
