QuakeCon preview

Now that I've rewatched that video, it finally hit me: That alarm sound was so reminiscent of something, but I couldn't figure it out where I heard it before....it was in Sanitarium, the very first level.

Damn, I can identify a specific sound source from a 14 year old game, but I can't even remember the birthday of my own aunt. Priorities, I guess.

From what I've read and saw in videos and screenshots this game is too popamole even for not removing from an inventory. Should never have expected anything better considering who is publishing it and that it is a multiplatform.

Amusing, but nothing terribly challenging. Hopefully these are cherry-picked encounters and the actual game won't allow you to so liberally possess everybody and throw them in front of their own bullets. I don't think I've ever even seen the player get injured by the guards in these videos. The shaky-cam motion captured awesome button stabby sequences don't help.

PC Gamer has a nice write-up about a mission they played:

http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/08/10/dishonored-hands-on-a-masquerade-becomes-a-bloodbath/

This was also my first time with the PC version, and it’s so much nicer to play. When you’re in precise control of this huge toolset of abilities, in such intricate open environments, it really starts to feel like something special.

Kinda sad how something as simple as that can get you excited in these dark days. Proper KB&M-driven menus and tailored controls should be the standard, not the exception.

Dark Corners of the Earth was also multiplatform and published by Bethesda. Just saying.

Half the 'Dex probably won't be able to play it. Time to upgrade your shitty 8800GT, Metro.

A A GTX 460/HD5850 is a bare minimum? Must be a typo or something. First of all, the recommended spec one is the same and secondly that card is 10 times more powerful than what Shitbox has.

It was already partially developed when Bethesda assumed it after the original developer went bankrupt. And decline was at a much less worse degree then than now.

I don't understand the setting. England is boring and alternative futuristic history is boring. The game looks a lot like Bioshock and looks like it will offer the choices of Bioshock in gameplay.

This game looks very good imo, but the RPS articles are getting really fucking stupid (I mean, more so than RPS articles usually are). They're so hyped for it now that they're pretty much jizzing about every little thing.

Game looks good. I really like the fact that you can summon a swarm of rats, and then possess one of them. Great for scouting. But I don't like the IED thing, the razor swarm. That's retarded.

Also, I don't like the slow mo...aka bend time spell. I hate that in fact.

I like possession, that u can possess even some npcs. But I don't like the melding of magi and tech. They should have given players a choice of either, not both.

I like playing warrior mages, but not sure if that's what this is. PC looks like a rogue mage, which is gay.

Well doesn't matter, I don't have a PC powerful enough to play it anyway, nor will I for at least the next 4 years or so :(

With all those skills and powers avaible I don't know how the game is supposed to pose a challenge. Without putting any real constraint on the number of uses (regenerating mana...) all of those will be abused to the maximum.
