There is still hope. The Stretch goal hasn't been reached yet (of course it will be).We already knew about the romances from Bubbles' report.
I am always pessimistic. Death to optimism.Folks, we already knew about the romances from Bubbles' report.

oh boy, i really want the 1.75 million stretch goal!
I wonder if the romances is going to be like in BioWare games. Being nice to your crew is only one step from a romantic candlelight dinner.
Oh, I know. I didn't want to talk about this in the report, since calling the writers "leakers" seemed rather cruel when they'd given us such valuable information. But now that they've confirmed it: yes, it was not planned for romances to be confirmed or discussed in any way during our visit to Ghent. The writers seemed pretty sure that romances would be in - just read their quote about how "Jan is working on a system" - , but I assume Swen is still hedging his bets on the possiblity that they won't be implemented. Or maybe it's more of a controlled release thing, where they don't want to announce romances until they can show that these relationships will be handled in a mature way, instead of letting everybody speculate about waifus and pregnancies.
Then they said it wasn't going to be in the game, and it sounded like they (rightfully) decided it was a bad idea, but then it became a stretch goal, which is more absurd than being a feature right off the bat.Folks, we already knew about the romances from Bubbles' report.
It's also the other goals that are rather underwhelming.Folks, we already knew about the romances from Bubbles' report.
They're going to stretch themselves too thin again.
How is it not? Larian can barely write characters and story, there is 0 chance these are good written romances. How are romances and DM mode popamole?
Saving this for posterity. Refreshing to see Roguey fangirling after all the pre-DOS hate.So did you miss the part where they added a bunch of new writers for D:OS2 and the stretch goal will increase that number.
How can you judge the quality of work you've never seen.
Well, in the prototype, "more serious" mostly meant seeing ugly racial slurs like "horse" mixed with a bit of whimsical murder.
Which doesn't make too much sense. There were like 70 bazillion imps in the desert area at the end of Divine Divinity, and other ones that were story/quest related that were in the game.Well they've also said things like "no imps" and "maybe no Bellegar."

http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/index.php?threads/divinity-original-sin-2-codex-fundraiser.103339/I don't recall them outright saying "no imps." Larian's statements should always be interpreted very carefully.
Due to Divinity: Original Sin 2 being a much more serious and focused game than its first installment, gone are the innumerable references and inside jokes. In fact, the imps, too, seem to be gone. Instead, what we have been offered is one of the two following options:
