To hoping this update fix the issues with the voices. I would hope it would also fix the issue in co-op where you don't see half the dialog, but i am pretty sure this will take a bit longer (if ForkTong and his minions are even hearing this).

and i hope they fix the issue with not releasing DRM-free version of the game available to wider public. doesn't anyone see irony in this with all the "DRM free, old school" blabber from larian?

edit: and why is there no digital download edition from larian vault? this steam-blowjobing looks ridiculous :/

From what I can tell, Larian did all that they could do to get it on GOG. GOG is holding it up so they can debut it on their Galaxy platform. Taken from the Kickstarter comment from last night:

"I would like to say 2 things about this: up to last week the entire crew at Larian thought we were going to launch with Galaxy support..."

I saw on gog the game will be released there in august 31... it's a 2 month steam exclusive... Guess the even the incline must have some measure of decline popamole publisher's evil schemes.

Anyone can browse steam local files, make a shortcut to EoCApp.exe, play the game without steam and directly connect via IP to play in coop. Not so much "DRM" there (and still have access to a convenient patching system). I don't get what all this DRM-whining is about... There's none.
Then again, it's shitty that we can't access the game on gog like promised, and that I still don't have access to all my digital goodies... :(

Me neither. I've not only never had a problem with Steam (other than waiting for certain times of day for release when you already own a physical copy, but other than FO:NV this hasn't been an issue) but they often have ridiculously good sales and with those idiotic cards being sold I end up getting a few games for "free" every year. I always thought the anti-Steam sentiment came from the pirate scumbag demographic. Am I wrong and what am I missing here?

thanks for some info, though i wonder whose fault is it. "Larian thought we were going to launch with Galaxy support"? in that case august 31 seems to be correct thinking, it was known last week galaxy won't launch.

and you two wiseasses are welcome to search on the internet the DRM-free vs. steam discussion if you care so much, there are enough of them. suffice to say for all the good steam has done for industry, i REFUSE to give money to service that lets me RENT out games. am i pirate scumbag? so be it.

Nope, I guess you're right.
Thing is, in this particular case, you can easily install the game from your steam account on 1000 different computers and anyone will be able to play it at the same time on each and every single one of these stations.
So, no. No DRM. Problem is that the little pirates are to retarded to even realise they don't even need to pirate...
Steam, in and of itself, is not drm.

Anybody else getting weird graphical artifacts like this?

2014-07-01_00001.jpg

In Larian's defense, I'm running a beta driver instead of a WHQL verified one for my Radeon R280X, so it's probably my own damn fault.

I'm VERY early on, but it seems okay. Haven't fallen in love with it, but don't hate it yet. We'll see how I feel after some more gameplay.

Steamworks is DRM, The Steam client is just a digital distribution platform, D:OS doesn't have steamworks, so maybe you should follow your own advice on that internet search thingy.

One thing I DO love about it in comparison to say, WL2, is how it feels like a complete, fleshed-out world. Talking to random NPCs in Cyseal gives multiple, varying results from similar questions. "What can you tell me about orcs?" gives a different, individual response from each generic NPC. That's huge for my enjoyment in a game like this. WL2 barely even has anyone to talk to let alone backstory and development of personality. I'm still very early on in the proper release right now, but I played all of the alpha and was pretty impressed with, at the very least, all of the encounters I...um...encountered.

Yeah - I like the size and scope of the first city which is where I still am). It feels like a nice size. But I'm still VERY early and won't be able to play much today, so I just got my first companion from the hall of heroes.

After waiting for months to be at this summer school, D:OS comes out the same week! FUCK!

Today's lectures were boring as shit, so I just spent time on my laptop reading about it, while awkwardly trying to hide the ever-growing erections under the desk.

http://www.examiner.com/article/how-gog-screwed-up-the-divinity-original-sin-release

Those who were waiting for it to release on GOG, however, were left waiting without any explanation for the delay. Hours later, a GOG employee explained that the game was being released later in the day, but only for Original Sin's Kickstarter backers. For everyone else, said employee clarified that the game would be released with GOG Galaxy support on August 31st.

LOL, fuck you cdp.

nice article. directing bile toward gog -.-

They should totally get me to work for them as their enforcer. GOG would've given them Galaxy support weeks prior to launch after my rampaging CEO nag campaigns.

I knew there was a day when Steam would be not-shit enough and GOG would be stupid enough for me to choose Steam.

Fucking cocks screw up Larian even on the one game where there is no publisher to screw them over.
