AFAIK, you can't. Sadly there are a couple quests in the game which can be broken like this. I've heard you can try doing this:

The skull is triggered not to tal kto you if the owner is around, even if you are in stealth. So, teleport the owner to a secluded spot (i.e. behind that big tree), then murder him.

bros, I have a question about talking head
I failed "warming crowd" quest in the beginning of the game, Can I somehow retrigger it to complete "Headless Nick" quest?
If you featherfall all of the audience members away, then teleport the host-guy into a nearby secluded spot and murder him, you can take the head without anyone noticing.

At times the AI has moments of incredible brilliance and sometimes I wonder what the fuck it's even doing. I'm playing the game right now and a Dread Orc Shaman just blessed my main fighter.

Yup AI can be really stupid sometimes, spider cult magi blessed spider eggs in my playthrough...

BTW Div: OS just got back #1 on steams again, pretty slow summer for gamers I guess.

Does anybody know how to change the game from german to english? (steam version)
After the latest patch a lot of NPCs have missing dialogue in the german version.

edit: nvm figured it out

Hm, anyone else had the game crash bug during the final dialogue? When you select the soul reforge option, game goes down.
Googled that shit a bit but there doesn't seem to be any workaround yet.

Ok, went with the first line and gibbed the void dragon. But what actually happens if you go with the soul reforge option?

And another brilliant example of the shitty RPS dialogue minigame. I talked with the Guardian in the Knight's Tomb in Hunter's Edge. Basicly, if I fail the conversation minigame, I have to face 4 huge stone guardians, who do thousands of damage each, so I have no chance against them. And this minigame fucked me over 3 times, despite me having 5 reasoning, and the other guy only 3. But I was unlucky, and had to reload several times. Fuck this feature.

A funnier thing I didn't know is possible: during my playthrough I hit Madora with friendly fire a few times, and the last time was the last drop in the bucket. She suddenly told me that she had enough, and left my party. Hah, I had to reload the previous fight so I don't lose her.

then you don't have to fight leandra and her death knights, making the entire thing even easier. I found those death knights to be nothing special, fodder just like all the other death knights I had roflstomped, but whatever.

.
I always killed them for XP, only one of them deals weapon damage iirc -> CC, the others deal elemental damage so no big deal.

Maybe you suck at Rock Paper Scissors?
You can't suck or be good at RPS. It is a purely luck based game. And actually I was fed up with it so I just clicked space, but even than I always lost.

They are a little too much for me at this point, so I chose the peaceful solution. :)

I'm pretty sure that there is some rudimentary AI behind it which you can exploit. At least I manage to win quite often by applying some kind of reverse psychology strategy.
But maybe I'm just fooling myself.

All right, finished, 97 hours clocked in. Jesus. One long ass game that's for sure.

Well it was a bloody fun romp, no doubt about it. The combat held it's magic till the very end, even though the game stopped being a challenge somewhere half way through. Still, from a certain point, it was the only thing holding me in.

Many observations and comments, but to name just the major ones:

- What I loved: Larian is very good at freshening up an old formula with a lot of new ideas and gimmicks. I like the idea with the Homestead, the teleportation pyramid shenanigans, the many secrets that you totally can miss on the first playthrough (or never discover at all). Combat mechanics was close to perfection, maybe magic with mana (or other resource) would be even better but in the end I didn't really mind the cooldown system. And oh yeah, sound and music is great and the game is absolutely gorgeous to look at. Would be interesting to see the inXile and Obsidian take on a modern isometric design in comparison. But they have a high bar to jump over.

- Stuff that was meh: The lenght of the game would be fine if the story was anything to write home about or midgame/endgame continued to be challenging. But it isn't. From certain point on I sortta glided on with a mild disinterest. I wasn't annoyed enough to dump the game half way through, like I did with Divinity 2, but I wasn't coming back all hot and excited to play again either. The level design was quite good but there were too many corridors and narrow pathways for my taste. Last but not least, the loot system wasn't neither here nor there. Some people hated it, I find it acceptable (except the lack of hand placed valuable loot).

- Stuff that annoyed me to no end: Story and writing. Yeah. Not Larian's strong suit. Haven't finished Divinity 2 because of that and DOS came close to being dumped too. The combat saved it. Please Larian, can we have something for gamers over the age 9 next time? Nngh. Loading screens. Really? In the 21th century, with my rig? Does it really have to take 5 minutes from the moment I click the icon till I can start to play? Slow animation. I got used to the slowish running speed eventually but the slow casting animations annoyed me to the very end. Some spells, especially the summoning ones, take 7 - 8 seconds. Why? WHYYYY?!1!1 Back to more serious issues though - the character system is not very good. Yes you can feel growing stronger and more able but a good half of the ability tree is completely and utterly useless. Sneaking, Lockpicking, Pickpocketing, Charisma, Lucky Find, Teleportation, Blacksmithing (except the 1 point for boosting weapons) - you haven't thought those through very much, Larian, have you? And last (but definitely not least) the economy - completely borked. For a good 3/5s of the game I was lugging around tens of thousands of gold with me, with nowhere to spend them. Only at the very end, when the skeleton merchant with a bag full of awesome legendaries appeared, I was kindda glad I have something stashed in. But even then I finished the game with over 90k gold.

We're on the Codex but still, I don't wanna end on a bitchy note. I had fun. It's a fun game. But it could've been so, so much better. Especially the writing and character system is letting the glorious combat and technical side of the game down hard. DOS is still a formidable contender though and future cRPGs will have to fight a really good fight to be able to stand side by side with it in the halls of incline.

I don't know about you, but on my rig, which is not high end, it only took about 30 sec if I teleported to a place which needed loading. The pre-game load took longer, about a minute.

Slow animation. I got used to the slowish running speed eventually but the slow casting animations annoyed me to the very end. Some spells, especially the summoning ones, take 7 - 8 seconds. Why? WHYYYY?!1!1
THIS! THIS! THIS! These long animations almost killed me.

Don't let them hit you. They have this horrible fear of stepping onto oil, poison or fire, so you can cover your party while teleporting those suckers if need be and then just hit them with whatever.

Is the boulder bash spell supposed to have a poison effect? (mine does, but I didn't think it was supposed to)

Beat the final boss a few moments ago. I wouldn't say it was a difficult fight. Long, yes, but not really difficult. I had Madora and a couple of summons stand in its way. Roderick lured all other enemies to him. He had over 2000hp and only took around 30-60 hp damage from them. Scarlett used Barrage and Arrow spray and Jahan used Air magic.

I really enjoyed the game. Combat doesn't stay as challenging as it should throughout the game, but I still enjoyed it until the end. I liked the free movement and clear AP points system. Creating your characters was also fun, turning them into whatever you wanted. Some annoying puzzles, but nothing overly frustrating. Writing and rock paper scissors were the things I least enjoyed.

This is GOTY so far. Backing this was a great move and I am happy with myself for doing so. :smug:
