Dono if I want to continue. Is Leech still the skill to have? I'm guessing no.

Like the other guy, stick to Vanilla. Also, Leech was torn to shreds in Vanilla, so it's a waste of a talent in either version.

The one thing I did like about EE was the enhanced difficulty, making some of the encounters different on higher difficulties instead of just extra hp/damage on mobs. Still prefer vanilla though.

I sort of got distracted from my playthrough of the original and was thinking about getting back into it after realizing my OS2 kickstarter might be released before the end of the year. From the sounds the EE doesn't really offer enough to make it worthwhile restarting? Is that the general consensus?

If you still have your original saves and want to finish, just keep going. Unless meh to bad voice acting gets your rocks off anyway or you REALLY want to dual wield (there are more than a few people like this :M)

Though TBH you might have a more enjoyable time replaying the first portion of the game in the EE and quitting again than playing the later portion in classic. The final "town" Hunters Edge is worth playing but most everything in between is at best a combat slog. Relatively fun combat slog but still not all that compelling.

I don't think D:OS 2 will actually release this year but we'll probably see the alpha/beta.

I've had an 180 on this game. The writing may be boring shit banal at best, but the gameplay is so FUN that it's got me hooked. I've enjoyed pretty much all of the combat encounters I've had so far (and am halfway through the game, I think).

Even the unending corridor of goblin village with their little "arenas"? I predict you'll stop playing around the snowy parts, somewhere after the iceking.

Is there any way to add/replace music files in this game? To be precise - for the "supposed-to-be" epic encounters, where there is one track that does not loop, and second half of the battle is done in silence.
I got some music to add into the game (from JA2, no less), but in the game directory it's one solid Sound file. :decline:

PS. I'm aware about incompatibility of Glass Cannon and Lone Wolf. Question is - it's still avaliable in original D:OS? I'm currently at the last 1/4 of the Enhanced Edition playthrough but want to try this combo in old version.

Yes.

If you extract the music file using the tool on the Larian forum you'll find .wem files which have individual songs. If you figure out the track information of the songs that corespond to the correct numbers for the situation you want to change it should be possible to whip up your own wem file in Wwise and use it.

This mod did it with tavern music:

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
I just stumbled upon some Imps with names like 'Jaseun', 'Crooked Bee' and 'Angthoron'. I wasn't around here when the game was released. Is it related to the kickstarter campaign or something like that? :/
They had to pay $10.000 each to get their names in the game.

Saw this one on sale recently and decided to beat it. I played it back when it came out but got bored after Cyseal. This time I persevered.

Game's good, but a mixed bag of good...

+ Combat is decent. Can't please everyone, I'm sure, but I found many fights challenging. (Though tbh I've almost never thrown a grenade or used a scroll. I bet if one uses all resources and knows all of the game's tricks, combat would feel easier). With four characters you have plenty of tactical options.
+ Graphics are decent.
+ The balance between exploration and dungeon crawling is decent.
+ The game has a nice Ultima / Baldur's Gate old-school vibe.

- The charisma games are horrible. Just give us a button "roll dice for charisma check" please.
- Combat too slow, needs animation acceleration.
- Combat too random. The game has many disables, and in tough encounters failing a stun check and getting stunned for 2-3 turns can be the difference between an easy win and a painful loss. There are bosses who, on the one hand, can be chain stunned; and on the other hand can one-shot your squad. That makes for a lot of cheese.
- Hidden-button puzzles are retarded. Thankfully we have Internets to guide us.
- Character development a bit lame. From what I see all one wants is main stat + speed (maybe const for warriors). Ability points go toward your class. Most perks are retarded.
- Itemization serviceable but boring.
- Skills are unbalanced - some do sick damage while others do barely anything. (E.g. Rain of Arrows vs Immolation.)
- Cyseal area more fun than the other two areas.
- Story not engaging in the least; but tbh it doesn't have to be.

Curious to see if D:OS2 is a significant improvement. I know many people love the first installments in franchises; but IMO sequels often improve on first installments in a big way.

Lost the last fight twice because both times the last boss teleported behind my entire squad (6 goons plus summons) and 1-shot the NPC I was supposed to keep alive from above half-HP. This after summoning two waves of mobs on top of said NPC.

There is difficult and there is cheap. Ragequit into uninstall.

OK game but a lot of bullshit and filler in it.

Looking forward to part II tho.

Edit: Reinstalled, beat fight, uninstalled again. Idk about drinking and driving but can recommend drinking and gaming.

I swear you all people are as dumb as a sack of fucking bricks.
They're horrible even with "roll dice for charisma check" button.
:M

Any system where the outcome hinges on a single isolated roll seems to be an inevitable disaster and needs to be redone or scrapped.
