Surprised that one of the first newbie guides comes from kotaku. What's next, IGN doing good journalism?

"Of course, if you're a real degenerate, you can abuse quicksave to retry a single attack until it lands, or re-attempt to convince an NPC of something until you win the dice-roll."

Kotaku of all places know that people using F5-F9 are degenerates. They should start searching for this problem starting from fetuses and abort them if there is any sign of F5-F9 retardation.

edit:

Midnight Oil is OP as fuck. AoE slow down and most of fuckers won't be able to even hit twice or even come close to my chars + i can just set them on fire anytime + IT COST 3 MOTHERFUCKING AP with 1 turn cooldown.

Midnight Oil also trigger Bully, which is +50% damage.

There are also some pretty good comments to that article, with some good tips and discussion. The guy who wrote the article is active there too. It's kinda eerie to read such a large amount of non-retarded comments on Kotaku, of all places.

yeah basically warrior + 1 point in geo and he will be doing more or less more damage every turn at the same time enemy AP is a mess and they can't even walk normally.

cons is that rogue is bit of useless with ton of oil (backstab)

This is why I'm staying away from crafting, many of those combinations (like key + soap) remind me of PaC adventures in which you combine a needle and a rooster to get a spaceship.

"I don't use crafting because there are few stupid recipes, therefore crafting is shit"

Meanwhile you can create ton of logical and useful stuff like potions, arrows, weapons, armors. And upgrade your existing equipment like changing - to movement on plate armor to + boosting a lot movability of your tank.

Was the key + soap thing really that hard to figure out? Is everyone here too young to have played LSL6?

Don't mind, I'm just bitter that I have to wait another week before I have access to my PC and can play the game :x

Total pushover, because her initiative drops to shit and I think there are no summons either that way. Stun + backstab in 1 round.

So I was wondering what the optimum abilities count should be. I don't want to spread myself thin. Jahan already has air/ice focus with a sprinkling in willpower and others as needed. I'm wondering if it would be too suboptimal to max Jahans crafting and blacksmith to 5 (it looks like that's the best benefit to point ratio). In general, if I'm running a 4 man party what should be the max number of abilities to focus on? FYI I'm about halfway through the game and the fights are easy to medium on normal difficulty when enemy is no more than +2 my level.

First of all hello and welcome to our little den of villainy :)

As for your question take a look at this Screen for some indication, Level 18 char:

Looks like you'll get enough ability points to max roughly 4 with some +1 gear. Keep in mind though that you can boost the Craftsmanship stuff pretty easily with equipment that gives boni to those abilities.
For instance my party has 5 in all the crafting abilities while actually having only spent 1 to 2 ability points on them each. The rest all comes from my equipment.

The Mage from the Screenshot for example has level 5 natural (as in levels from ability points spend, not taken into account any equipment boni) in two different Magic trees, 3 in Willpower and Bodybuilding, 2 in Charisma, Crafting and Loremaster + 1 or 2 levels in some other abilities. That's all-in-all roughly 55 points worth of abilities I had to work with up until now (as I stated, Level 18 at the moment).

Hopefully this will give you some pointers!

Unfortunately so far I've found that every single "difficult" encounter against a boss type enemy can easily be done by teleporting the boss guy between your guys and sandwiching them down ASAP. Honestly the whole encounter difficulty comes from the boss enemy, the mooks are just trash.

Edit: Also I've been paying attention to my Ice Elementals names lately. Lol'd at Spengbab.

Just beat a big, frozen dude. Finally made good use of those elemental protection scrolls, which made a huge difference in survivability.

Is that what happens if you randomly kill her in the clinic?

Does Jahan has any kind of quest related to him or he'll just talk from time to time? I already have a mage and would like to try backstabbing.

Playing scoundrel without grid makes me want to find whoever is responsible for local backstab tracking and stab him with a butter knife repeatedly.

Yup. I am on a murder fest. My rep is -4. Not sure much will change though.

Ooh, I need to try and murder the Imp.

Btw I found the best lockpick in the game is a crossbow. When you hold CTRL and shoot with it without entering combat by clicking very fast it turns into machine gun.
So yeah, doors and crossbows. Who'd known. Perhaps with unbreakable one with tenebrum damage you can even break plot doors fast enough.
