After Andromeda and Anthem, let this be the nail to Bioware coffin.

At this point being written and made by some souless 8 - 5 corpo game designer and writer is probably gonna be better for the series over all.

Despite not being a fan of romances in rpg's (why did Sawyer cave in with Deadfire?), at least Baldur's Gate 2 and Neverwinter Nights only had straight relationships. As the Bioware male employees get turned in for females, the less classy elven lady in armour you get and the more degenerate crippled womyn npc.
I could tolerate it in Origins. That's as far as they should be allowed to push it without it feeling forced. It was totally avoidable if you chose to avoid it, and never shoved in our faces.

But Inquisition's foul queer stench just wrecked the game even more. You literally could not escape it, no matter how hard you tried.

Dragon Age Day 2022

Dragon Age Day 2022 community mosaic. 32 companions created by different artists from across the community.

Our fans are the best. The best. How else could we describe a community so passionate, and compassionate, that you not only created your own holiday to celebrate all things Dragon Age™, but you did it for charity? For some, today is merely December 4th—but for us, it’s Dragon Age Day (aka DA Day), and we’d like to be the first to officially welcome you to this year’s celebration!

We have a lot to celebrate this year, with Dragon Age: Dreadwolf deep in development and Dragon Age: Absolution just around the corner. And of course we’ll be celebrating the whole franchise alongside you, including a new short story, a small collaboration with The Sims 4™, and discounts on the games across all platforms. But let’s kick things off with your contributions.

First, take a look at the amazing art atop this post. 32 different artists from across the community were kind enough to contribute their unique takes on the companions from Origins through Inquisition. It’s a gorgeous piece, and we couldn’t be more honored to have such a talented and passionate community. If you want a closer look at any of the pieces or want to follow the artists, check out our social channels throughout the day to see them posted individually!

Gamers Give Back
Since 2018, the Unofficial DA Day team has raised money for a charity of choice, starting with $6,795 for the Child’s Play charity in that first year. By 2020, they had essentially doubled that, raising $13,560 for the Legal Defense Fund, and in 2021, they doubled it again, notching $27,224.69 for the AbleGamers charity.

TEP: Trans Empowerment Project
This year, they’re partnering with the Trans Empowerment Project, a non-profit organization with a focus on supporting the most marginalized people in the queer community, such as disabled and trans people of color. TEP addresses immediate needs of the community through efforts like transportation assistance, legal assistance, and deliveries of food and clothing—among many other support services—and also collaborates on broader outreach programs to help combat systemic oppression and inequality.

To support this vital work, they collect donations through Tiltify, which allows them to offer all kinds of rewards to supporters. It’s quite an impactful production, with all donations going straight to the charity. As in previous years, BioWare is glad to help support this work with contributions of our own. If you’d like to join us, head over to the donation page for more details.

A Thrilling New Adventure
This DA Day is particularly exciting because it comes just five days before the launch of an entirely new Dragon Age project: Netflix’s Dragon Age: Absolution. Come December 9, you’ll be able to dive into a whole new Dragon Age animated story, a six-part series created in close collaboration between BioWare and Netflix.

If you haven’t had a chance to check out the latest trailer, you really need to because it is fantastic!

Before you ask, we’re sworn to secrecy on any new details—but we can say that you should keep an eye out for interviews about the project, both from our developers and from the team at Netflix as the series rolls out over the coming weeks.

…okay, maybe we can share one thing:

Friends, we wanted to thank you for your years of amazing support of the past and future of Dragon Age. We’ve had a particularly fun and fascinating year working on Dreadwolf, reaching the Production phase in February, announcing the Dreadwolf name in June, and hitting Alpha in October—along with showcasing some of our amazing team members throughout the year.

We wanted to close out this year with a little treat to celebrate Dragon Age Day in our own way by sharing a key cinematic from the game. Enjoy!

The Dread Wolf awaits.

Whether you’re celebrating with us in-game, readying for Absolution, or waiting for Fen’Harel to make his move, we’re right there with you. Keep an eye on our social channels for more fun stuff today, and as always, have a happy Dragon Age Day!

I remember playing DA:O with overwhelming surprise at how it felt a modern embodiement of the old IE games. I even enjoyed DA:I although realizing it was a simplification of the original game both in story and gameplay.

HOW THE FUCK did we go from that to TRANNIE EMPOWERMENT WEEK? You spend years waiting for a game, always in the back of your mind is that nagging feeling that somehow they will fuck it up by injecting some shitty modernity decline, but you hope, you can't be sure. And then BAM! Muh marginalized-wheel-chair-bound-dickless-one-legged-trannies-of-color. Fuck this. I'll be butthurtingly playing DA:O once again pretending the modern era never came about.

I tried to re-install origins for nostalgia. I remembered the combat on nightmare being what I wanted out of KOTOR. Maybe I'm just spoiled by newer party based games but the first thing that annoyed me was the camera. Found myself skipping most of the dialoge, getting bored of the combat and uninstalling in just a few hours.

Nothing really needs to be said about DA2. All I remember is jerking off to the waifus once or twice and killing some mages or something. DA:I is also a fever dream I hardly remember. I was really disappointed that they nuetered Morrigan's demon baby plot line. Was hoping he'd be an easter egg boss later in the series but now I guess it's an error to expect anything cool out of bioware. Open world collection quests are fucking cancer.

Might legally yandex this one just to hate it more effectively.

Bro I'm not sure how you got through anything after DA:O without noticing this stuff already being there. Yes they've gone 200% full retard now, but tranny lecturing was baked into the lore in DA2 ("we enlightened devil muslims do not believe in gender roles, we are all herms if we want to be!"). Hell even DA:O had a lot of "gays are super cool man" signalling going on. If you wanna go back to the last time Bioware was "normal" it would probably be BG2.

DA:I had riding the black bull, the gay porno stache wizard whose entire loyalty questline revolves around rejecting his bigoted family, and literally no attractive females in the entire game, to the point that people grotesquely started gaslighting themselves into thinking butch face Cassandra was actually semi-pretty.

Look at this warrior guy hacking through waves of these disgusting humanoid creatures.

Bioware marketing DAD
Look how gay we are! Game? What game?
In the trailer was said what kind of game is it. Everything else is social media residue which you can ignore. Marketing changed with social media and social changes since DA:O.

My new cope is that everything after Da:Origins is non cannon, fake and gay (literally).
My cope is Morrigan's ass. And Leliana's.
Ten years ago they had Bethany's and Isabela's boobs, just don't look at environment or her fingers.

^ Gaider self-insert.
While being gay Gaider still knew what an average male gamer wants.

Before he came out of the closet, he said some stuff abut how they wrote Viconia that's interesting in retrospect: that it was based on hittng on women in bars and just writing up the reactions. Always wondered what the hell was that about after he came out. Was he just lying about that? Was he so closeted he was hitting on women? Was it other people? The world may never know...

I don't remember any "gays are super cool man" in Origins. The only characters I can think of were Zevran who I killed upon meeting because the smarmy fucker literally tried to assassinate me and Leliana who I barely interacted with yet she was desperate to hop on my Warden's dick after three conversations and spent the rest of the game butthurt that I was railing Morrigan twenty feet away from where she's standing.

The heavy focus on gay shit came in DA2 like Anders going from discount Alistair who would constantly banter about how he liked women in Awakening to a brooding homosexual in DA2 whose mandatory recruitment quest is to save his boyfriend.

Uhh... based, I guess?

She's a complete slut after putting up an icy front for 1 second. So, very realistic and true to life I will admit.

She's extremely mood swingy. She has an icy front in one conversation, she hits on you in the next, then she's an ice queen again in the third, then she puts out in the fourth, and she goes back to being a bitch in the fifth.

I wonder if it was a reflection on Gaider's opinion on women in general.

Well, it wasn't unrealistic at least... I mean, not all women, but certainly some of them.

Didn't play DA2 because I'm not into arcade console games. Let's restrict this butthurting circle jerk to RPGs.

Now when I think about it, in retrospect, yes, you're right. Lots of degen in that game.

I might have overlooked a lot of it because at the time (2014?) things weren't as bad as they are today with progressive politics injected into games.

DA:O never
had a lot of "gays are super cool man" signalling going on
It had only Zevran who can be killed in 2 minutes after his appearance because, you know, he tries to assassinate you under your nemesis Loghain's orders. If you foolishly let him live he never bothers you unless you pursue a friendship/romance with him. DA:O has some pozzed moments but they were subtle and few and far between. A sob story of legendary Aveline the female tourney participant killed by evil patriarchy. Aristocrat raping the city elves in Denerim. Gaming and entertainment went off the rails after 2012.
