I was a little disappointed when I found a pair of female panties and the game told me I couldn't equip them on Ralph.

this game is deeply flawed on many aspects and outright horrible on many others. it's not rewarding, by removing the basic roll/dodge the combat becomes a mindless button mashing, the selling point (climbing on monsters) is the worst executed part with incomprehensible controls and a camera which fights against you, the whole game world is deader than your average dragon age's, the interface is horrid and the graphics are even worse. and character growth makes no sense, it punishes severely whoever experiments and the 1 save rule makes it outright impossible.
but somehow i keep going back to it.

this must be what a mouse stuck in a skinner box feels like.

i wonder what crapcpcppom has in store for future of DD.

They had Deep Down in works but apperently they scrapped online idea and they are doing something with it. I wouldn't mind Dragon's Dogma 2 with spells such as these:

Wow! I just said "wow" out loud at a choice I was given.

There's a place where you are told to kill an unarmed man for reasons ...
... and obviously you can choose to either do it or not. I chose to kill him, and the guy with me was like, awesome, now I trust you, and he left.
Then I realized that I could use a "Wakestone" I had in my backpack to resurrect the guy I'd just murdered, and let him go.
That 3rd option was a refreshing surprise. Unexpected!

In the catacombs? Cause I was just given an option like that litterally 20 seconds ago, I spared him because I am blind and didn't see the guy and walked off.

O well.

Oh: while typing this I found out He will no longer give me follow up quests because of this.

This kind of thing is the coolest part of the game imo. The game as a whole is fantastic, but this particular aspect (hidden options/reactivity) is something you never fucking see in big budget games.

but somehow i keep going back to it.

I highly recommend playing assassin if you want to be a normal weaponboy. They can use all of the sword/dagger (which has invincible rolls and a double jump)/bow movesets/styles. The "bow mode" stuff is kind of annoying (not aiming and shooting a bow, which is fine and is obviously very mouse-friendly, but the behavior of turning bow mode on/off). If you don't want to do damage with the bow you can equip a rusted bow, which won't hurt anything but procs the torpor status affliction (slow).

The harsh DT system means there's a pretty thin line between an enemy being a 1-shotter/a threat/zero threat, but in the threat zone the melee combat is fairly fun. It's very annoying how many enemies get like one random untelegraphed fast attack that will 1-2 shot you in hard mode.

Is there a good way to do savegame swapping that won't get me softbanned yet?

Edit - mod wishlist: hotkey weapon swapping, hotkey hold items (e.g. so you can hold a skull for throwing without going into a menu), equipment screen hotkey, hotkeys out da assbutt. The only base game hotkeys that work afaik are the lantern and healing items.

Also I did the quest of finding the magic book for some NPC in town and when I was doing the Griffin quest he came to help me and used the magic book to cast spells. Quality C&C, codex GOTY of 2016? :troll:

Has anyone ever been spergy enough to forge the copy of the not-bible you can get in a quest in the starting town, then use the forgery to resolve that quest in NG+?

Things I'm spergy enough to think of but not actually do

I'm not sure that it matters. I don't really remember but that quest might be cancelled by the stage you reach Gran Soren. Further, technically, all bibles are simply copies of the same text. A forgery wouldn't be any different.

Any forgery of an item that actually has magical powers or special properties will fail to retain those powers. But things like upgrade materials are duplicated just like a normal item.

I actually kind of like the dumb pawn chatter. They remind me of a tabletop group where you have people completely not paying attention: We should explore that cave. ---> Dude, we JUST left it. || I wonder what left all these tracks. Probably some scary beast. ---> Or... maybe the monster we killed less than a minute ago.

Then there are the time travelers who pride themselves on all their quest metagame knowledge. It amuses me.

Well, fuck. I turned in all possible evidence to prove Fournival innocent but made the mistake of talking to the tenants who got kicked out and he was found guilty.

Including the evidence you can buy from that peddler?

Talking to them isn't enough, you'd have to turn in their petitions too.

Also, try reloading to a checkpoint. This should be enough.

What I found weird is that a guilty verdict was reached with just that as negative evidence. You sure you delivered all the petitions and the ambassador's letter? Fedel's, Symone's the Priest's and the Ambassador's Letter found in Fournival's House are all positive, plus the northern watchtower soldier's testimony.

I think I've gotten to the part where it really feels like they wanted to do more but then ran out of money

Duke tells me that I'll go on an expedition and I need to pack my shit cause I won't be seeing the capital for some time and I thought "oh cool, probably going to a new town", which was probably the original intention of the devs, but then: FALSE ALARM, cultists are attacking the fortress, expedition postponed. OK, I rush off to the fortress and kill the cultists. Emperor Palpatine shows up and starts going all UNLIMITED POWAAAAA. I think "maybe I'll finally get to kick his ass cause this game really lacks some good boss fights with humans/wizards" but he just summons 2 unimpressive liches and dies in a cutscene like a shithead. The the Dragon shows up and is like "dude kill me already come on" and gives me the final quest and I'm standing there thinking "wot?". So is this really the final boss quest that came literally out of nowhere? What about all those other dungeons on the map that I haven't even been to, like the Soulflayer Canyon or Blighted Mansion and etc.? Or are they completely optional?

Soulflayer is "for" an unimportant sidequest you could have gotten from some some guy in the palace around the time the trial quest was going (it has nothing to do with the trial). You go there to pick up an unrelated macguffin, although it's hidden pretty cleverly

Blighted Manse I dunno.

I'm not sure that it matters. I don't really remember but that quest might be cancelled by the stage you reach Gran Soren.

Yes, thus the NG+ and why it's such a spergy thought.

We became Steam friends to share pawns, now I want to be Codex friends to share observations like this.

Blighted Manse is also for an optional quest. Lots of optional quests in the game. Unfortunately the difficulty/pacing gets pretty borked if you do them all, but they're pretty fleshed out.
