Am I the only one thinking that brother Corhyn's (priest guy at the Roundtable) quest line is a jab at the fans who are obsessed with souls lore? After mid game the dude leaves the Roundtable and spends all of his time following around some weirdo who never talks and just stands around T-posing, yet he claims that the subtle movements of his hands carry some profound meaning, like how souls lorefags autistically overanalyze every detail about some NPC or boss, whose in-game presence is like 2 lines of spoken dialogue and a 1 sentence mention in some item description.

There is this one channel on YT that goes full retard with his theories, they make no sense, but I had a good laugh listening to some of them.

There's a whole group of NPCs called finger readers, so although I love your interpretation I'm afraid it falls into that same behaviour of over analysis ;)

Man I can tell I'm getting old cause I'm actually starting to agree with Porky. His sword n board vids are inspiring me to give this game yet another chance.

While approaching the boss arena at the end of Castle Morne, the Leonine Misbegotten just died on me before I could pass the fog gate. I just saw an empty boss HP bar appear and got the runes, without even going through the gate. I haven't been able to replicate it, has anyone ever seen anything like this?
Yes, once I stepped onto the plateau after Caria manor and "GREAT ENEMY DEFEATED" popped up and I got 50k runes. No idea what boss I got

A little too fluffy for me. And my current set up, Banished Knight Set with the Golden Greatshield:

Alright, took down another real tough boss, the Full Grown Fallingstar Beast:

This one was almost as bad as Crucible Knight Duo, tanky as hell, ridiculous range and attack rate, very few safe windows, and some bs ranged attacks. Took a while.

Also took down Decaying Ekzykes, the nastiest of the dragons I've faced so far:

Horse is your friend with these flying lizards. This guy though has a nasty heat seeking rot breath.

BTW, i just noticed a sign before the boss in Shaded Castle that hinted an NPC should be there. So i checked out and apparently Patches moves there after you kill Rykard. But i won't meet Rykard for a VERY long time and i'm not sure if killing the boss in Shaded Caleid brakes the Patches quest.

I have been trying as much as possible not to use wikis to do the quests and just go with the flow (not the least because some of them are broken anyway so i want to wait until the game is fully patched before worrying about doing a "completist" run) but this sequence worries me i may have missed some.

There's no way to naturally finish the Volcano Manor quest line (which btw so far is pretty fun) before completing the shaded castle, so i don't see how anybody can "normally" meet patches here. I know you can kill Rykard early but why would anybody want to do that instead of finishing the Manor quests.

It also seems i missed one of Patches betrayal sequences by noping out of the fight with the Abductor Virgins (which, btw, i just killed but i won't be able to post a video for a few days as my DSL connection is down and i don't want to use up the one from my phone) and not getting to the Manor that way.

Personally, I feel like the quest design was always really bad in From Software games, and that's just exacerbated in Elden Ring due to the open world structure. Some random NPC drops a tiny hint about what you should be doing, but if it depends on meeting some other NPC in some specific place 50 hours later, you might very well miss that place or that NPC or forget all about that quest by that point, since theres no journal or anything. So if it's something I can do right away, I will do the quest, otherwise I forget about it. Looked a few up on the wiki, and it was ridiculous that FS expected anyone to follow the entire sequence of steps based on very limited info.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
that last part seems sexual, HoboForEternity

Ever notice how all the dead fingers in the divine towers look like legs? So when you grab the rune, it's sort of like seizing the cherry... (of a dead and rotting carcass, but anyway).
This game i realized is pretty much just a harem dating sim with extra steps and cosmic horror.

Every woman you helped eventually fawns over you. Ranni, fia, roderika, rya, hyetta, nephiste (i cant remember the name, gideons daughter) etc

In all souls games, I go through the game first with a shield, and then without it. Talking about "skills" is kinda cringe in both cases, but the no-shield playthrough has always been harder than the first one (with the sole exception of Dark Souls 1), even despite having already faced most enemies at least once. At least for me, shieldless runs are almost always harder simply due to the fact that you have to somewhat time your dodges to avoid taking damage, while with a shield you can just generally press L1 and stand there.

No-shield runs might be special for you turds but for me...

Ironically, he's not immune to Scarlet rot.

So yeah, if you have rotten breath you can totally kill him with his own kind of attack.

I'm honestly surprised he's not immune.

Malenia really hates warcry, too bad there isn't more humanoid size bosses because it felt good to use.

Also I didn't realize on my first playthrough that waterfowl seems to be a retaliation move ? as soon as you go through the threshold of hp (seems like 75 percent and 25 percent) she'll retaliate with it to almost any attack (ranged or melee), so if you pay attention to stop attacking as you put her bellow those thresholds, take spacing back and throw a kukri or smth you'll trigger waterfowl from a distance where dodging it is way easier. Works for phase 1 mainly, as she is super aggressive in phase 2 and waterfowl seems to trigger differently.

So i'm standing in front of the entrance to Nokron and out of curiosity i start looking for co-op and soon enough i get summoned. So i got around one shotting everything and killing the boss with one rotten breath charge then i tried summoning again and i meet the same dude in another dungeon. So i tried a third time and lo it's that fucker again lmao.

Guessing some higher level player who went around clearing places he had left behind. Not sure why he needed a summon to help.
