Talking about bullshit, what I really found too much were some invisible backstabbing assassins in Ordina.
Holy. Fuck. They even blink-tp constantly, making reading their footprints in the snow barely useful.

Fuck these guys.

Also what's up with these planar jails ? Any explanation on that ? I don't seem to have any item related to this.

I don't want to spoil it, but if you played any FromSoft games for a while you should know whenever you see something like that it means there's a way to counter it. Just saying.

Well... When I beat Godrick, I thought I was done with like a third of the game lol. Everything was pointing to it being done after reaching the tree. Souls games had similar developments after all.

That's one of the things about Elden Ring. It's like one of those late night infomercial guys.

Me: Wow, what an epic journey. That was awesome. Now to enjoy my final reward.

FromSoft: But wait! There's more!

Me: ... What the hell?
But wait! There's more!

The more is just Cancertown!

It's the one with the obnoxious terrain. And that annoying dude that hits like a truck.

Yeah, that one.

IF a new DLC comes, any chance that we will get to explore the moons? I wanna learn more about it and recently, finished the main history. With about 60 hours of playtime and lv 139.

Why would you think we'd get to explore the moons?

I don't think so but wish that we could do that. Moons where extremely important in the lore being many sorceries and Ranni's ending, moons are also linked with Outer Gods.
Yeah, I got the impression that, like in Bloodborne, that the moons might actually be the Outer Gods as they're all cosmological beings. I think that's why the stars stopped out of fear of Radahn and why you can encounter things at the sites of fallen stars.

I honestly don't know if moons are Outer deities or not.

Anyway, I was watching some old videos and are this things still that great? I only used Comet Azur, against elden beast, the final boss, I could only take about a third of his hp with the scepter +10 at 80 int and the 10 second unlimited fp potion.

And the hammer build? IMO STR/FHT builds are always the strongest PvE wise in demon/dark souls and in elden ring. This guy is literally OHKilling every single boss with his big hammer. Only curiosity, I don't plan to do a STR/FHT run. I have my Moonlight Dark Moon Greatsword and my Adula's Moonblade to kill enemies at melee. No need for big hammers.

Honestly, worrying too much about Souls lore is like worrying whether Galactus could devour the Death Star or if it would explode him, assuming the Emperor and Darth Vader are on board. Elden Ring spells things out a lot more than other Souls titles, but it's the same thing.

Everyone expects a DLC, but they haven't made any announcements and if there wasn't one, I don't think anyone would argue ER is an incomplete experience or too short. It's mostly a question of if they have one, where do you access it - do you gate it to people who are sitting on 100+ hour saves? Most likely candidate for exploration is probably whatever's going on with Miquella. Where that takes place, who knows, but it could be another Painted World situation as Cat Headed Eagle was mentioning, probably entered at the Blood Palace egg.

They lying to you. If you've been diligent you should only have one area and a "boss rush" left.
Assuming he already beat Malenia AND Mohg, the "boss rush" that's left consists of Godskin Duo, Maliketh, Dragonlord Placidusax, Sir Gideon Ofnir, Hoarah Loux, Radagon, and the Elden Beast. That's almost the number of mandatory bosses you fight in the entirety of DS1. If he hasn't already beaten the first two and we ignore "joke" bosses like Pinwheel (I'm sorry Porky), Ceaseless Discharge and Bed of Chaos, then we can drop the "almost".

Which makes post-giant the very definition of endgame.
Of course that's the endgame, but it's still an impressive chunk of content. And this was really the only thing I wanted to say, the rest of the post will just be discussing for discussing's sake.

There's no reason to not have beaten the big optional guys by that point on your first playthrough as you discover them before the giant and you have no reason to postpone visiting their areas when you don't know what you don't know.
???

Usually I complete an area before moving on to the next one, so I finished exploring the mountaintops of the giant before using the medallion (which gives access to the big optional guys). For the same reason, I explored all of Liurnia before taking the first lift... would you say there's no reason to not have explored Altus Plateau before the Caria Manor?

there's no way someone who doesn't use a guide can even know the dragonlord exists.
You're not the first person I hear saying something like this and I can't understand how this could be true for anyone who has ever extensively played other souls before. The platforms you can drop onto aren't hard to spot and, once you reach the last one, you just have to walk around and notice the prompt that pops up. I see how someone who doesn't autistically explore every corner of the map might miss it, but I assume that anyone who actually spends time posting on the prestigious RPG Codex forum has to meet the autism requirements. Especially since 99% of the time there are clusters of messages on the ground where you need to go.

Gideon is a joke boss along the lines of Pinwheel.
He is a pushover, but he isn't nearly a joke as DS1 joke bosses. His HP are low and he is easy to overpower like any other NPC in the game, but if he catches you unprepared he can actually kill you with his constant spamming of spells. On the other hand, Ceaseless Discharge has THREE (3) attacks and you'll see two of them at best during the entire fight, while Pinwheel gets two-shotted by anything in the game if you don't face him unreasonably early.

It's an area with crumbling terrain and countless spots where a single wrong step sends you plummeting to your death into a bottomless pit. And in that area, you have to find one specific spot that looks just as deadly as any other and make a leap of faith. And when it doesn't kill you against all expectations, you have to keep platforming until you arrive to a platform with nowhere left to go. And there, with no markers or indication, you have to find a very specific and pretty much random pixel where you get a prompt to start the fight. It's beyond unreasonable to expect anyone to find it naturally.
You're hugely misrepresenting the process.

At one point, you reach an area that goes nowhere. If you go almost anywhere on the edge of the area, you can see that there's a series of rocks clearly intended to be reachable. No need to find specific spots (once you see that there's a long path made of rocks, of course you'll start searching the entire edge at the very least) and certainly no need to make leaps of faith, since the jump is one of the most obviously safe in the entire game. After that, there's no real platforming to speak of, but only a single straight line of rocks to follow. Once you reach the last platform, it's only a matter of walking around a VERY SMALL area. I'd say it's beyond unreasonable NOT TO walk around the rock once you find it... I mean, why would anyone get to that point and decided that it's not worth exploring?

I've played the game 3 days after launch and clusters of messages have guided me there. Then I've personally witnessed 3 people find the path offline with no help or prior input. I think this is one of the easiest "secret" boss to reach in the entire series.

Sure. But if you're a manly man with a big sword and not a dex fag, you just flatten him while he's talking at you, and then it doesn't matter how many spells he's got if he can't get up.
Why use a sword when you can use a big slab? :M
