Super Sledge? I can't stand looking at that weapon, totally prefer the NV design over that lazy creation.Mysterious serum + yao guai roast makes you a god.
I was dealing almost 2k damage with my super sledge, one-shotting LEGENDARY DEATHCLAW MATRIARCHs and whatnot
Just....wh...what the fuck is going on with that assault rifle?...front-heavy design, water cooling barrel, side loader, pitiful stock, short barrel, grip looks awful, it doesn't even LOOK cool, so what rule is this? Rule-of-Shit?Fallout 4's weapons are pretty stupid looking in general, but the super sledge is definitely the worst. Seems like they opted to value uniqueness over cool or practical looking weapons, it's even immersion breaking at points, like in Kellogg's head movies, when going to get revenge he whips out that goofy looking assault rifle and the situation turns from tragic to comical. Have you seen that thing? It looks like a big fat nigger dick:
I actually miss NV's weapons, they were mostly just tweaked real world weapons, but there was variety and at least a few that I thought were cool.
I'd prefer that direction over Zomg Whacky and useless shit like the garbage gun, "YOU HAVEN'T LIVED UNTIL YOU'VE KILLED SOMEBODY WITH A TEDDY BEAR" -Fallout 4's loading screen
My dream mod for any FO game would let you play as a Raider, looting, killing, raping and doing drugs from start to finish. I think it's time for a Fallout game that lets you choose your own role. It's an RPG after all, isn't it?
Eh, the combat rifle is bland-looking and the combat shotgun's a slightly less ugly variant from Fallout 3. Most of the decent-looking weapons are either holdovers from older games (i.e. the plasma rifle, laser rifle, 10mm pistol) or are obvious stand-ins for real world guns (the hunting rifle, the 44. revolver, the tommy gun, etc). The gatling laser looks decent, and the gamma gun is kinda ugly, but at least fits the fifties sci-fi kitsh aesthetic. The only only new gun design that actually looks pretty cool in the game is the gauss rifle. The assault rifle was bleh, the other weapons are cool though. And at least it doesn't have nonsense like F1/2's bozar, the "full-auto sniper rifle"

So, they get the vibe right after all.Have you seen that thing? It looks like a big fat nigger dick:
That's what you get from playing COD for inspiration.I will never forget this retarded shotgun design from Fallout 3
Uh no they're not. Anyway Fallout 2's retardation went way beyond procedural namesAll of the rifles are "full-auto sniper rifle" with an auto receiver and scope.
which is so hilariously nonsensical it might as well have been written by a markov process. The ultimate refinement of the sniper's art, the Bozar is a scoped, accurate, light machine gun with an ammunition capacity of thirty .223/5.56mm rounds.

Yeah, that "assault rifle" is pretty stupid, but I don't even think it's one of the worst in the game. According to the wiki, it was supposed to be a machine gun, but Bethesda cut the actual assault rifle.
The combat rifle when fully upgraded makes pretty much all the other guns a waste of time. It's per-second damage is unequalled, has superb accuracy and ammo is ridiculously plentiful.
Hate to break it to people, but Bethesda's writing is fine, as has been stated by various experienced professional actors who have certainly seen the gamut of writing quality.
Here's the thing: writing is NOT about quests, so stop worrying about dialogue and quests. If you want deep, complex writing in dialogue and character interactions, play Japanese visual novels and adventure games because that is their focus. No Western game can come close, believe me, as I have been comparing products from these markets for decades.
Bethesda's writing is perfectly fine because they write for the environment and world context, not character dialogue. They write better worlds than pretty much any company out there and that is why they have high quality products. Dialogue is unimportant when the world environment tells a story for you
