What translation is better quality, english or polish? Idk which one to install. Are both machine translated?
I played Polish and it's ok. There are a few dialogues hard to understand, but overall you will be able to follow the goal. What translation is better quality, english or polish? Idk which one to install. Are both machine translated?

forget about Fallout2CE, it's dogshit just use foxx's Fallout Sonora Extended edition it has already the 1.0 translation includedAwesome! I did a fresh re-install, seems we finally got the full version in English!
EDIT> slightly confused about step 6 below... so is it fine to run fallout2-ce.exe ? -( seems optional to use FSonara.exe) :S
Optional - if on windows, Fallout2.exe may be dropped into the install folder to play the game, or rename patch000.dat to patchDLC.dat and use FSonora.exe or FSonoraDLC.exe to run the game. Only FSonora.exe or FSonoraDLC.exe will give the correct game start
- Download and install Fallout Sonora
- Download and unpack Dayglow DLC into the install directory of Fallout Sonora, created above
- Download your OS version of Fallout 2 CE and put it in the install directory of Fallout Sonora, created above
- Download the .zip file named sonora_eng_DLC_script.zip and unzip it in the install directory of Fallout Sonora
- Change the language setting of the fallout2.cfg file to ‘english’
- Click ‘Fallout II Community Edition’ (for macOS and windows and linxu) to play the game

If u go to rutracker there is the latest version of the extended updated yesterday with the latest translationExtended version definitely runs alot better for me. The resolution is more optimal.
Any tried to patch or add the latest translation to the Extended version?
Hi, is there a way to change the aspect ratio/resolution when playing Sonora? I'm excited to try the new English translation, but I would like to change the non-ideal resolution before getting started. I forget how I changed it when playing Nevada a few years ago, but I know I did somehow. I tried yelling at the screen for a bit, and then I yelled at some swarthy, foreign-looking people passing on the street. Neither solution helped.
--Edit: OK, turns out that with Fallout 2 CE you need both f2_res.ini and ddraw.ini from the F2 high res thingy to get it to work.
My Fallout 2 folder is a complete mess after years of tinkering, so I have no idea where the things inside it come from and why it is set up the way it is. However, I'm sure I use the GoG version of F2 and I think that includes both the Fallout2 High Resolution Patch and Sfall (a F2 engine tweak mod). Both are available elsewhere if needed for a different F2 version.Hi, is there a way to change the aspect ratio/resolution when playing Sonora? Care to elaborate?
I got stuck at that point also, reverted back to the old version

> I started out by following the Install Instructions for Sonora + Dayglow DLC + Script Patch 1.0.
> I copied Fallout2_High_Resolution_Patch_4.1.8.exe from my Fallout 2 folder into the Sonora folder and ran it. This extracts a few files, including the f2_res.ini.
> I copied ddraw.ini (which comes from Sfall) from my Fallout 2 folder into the Sonora folder. (I later copied over ddraw.dll too, but it seemed to work fine without it).
> Then I edited both the f2_res.ini and ddraw.ini to give me the resolution I wanted. In the GoG F2 version there will be readme files for how you set up both. For my combination of screen and old, tired eyes i use:
>> 2560x1440, 2x = 1 (for double scale) and windowed = 0 (for fullscreen) in f2_res.ini, and
>> 2560x1440 and mode = 4 (for fullscreen) in ddraw.ini.
Hope this helps!
The easiest way to play is via Foxx extended edition, all packed up with sfall, high res and eng translation.
Maybe inserted a few trojans as bonus too, but with the checks/scans I did on the files, I felt it was worth the risk..

I agree the Extended Edition definitely looks and runs fantastic straight out the box.
I has the old(er) English translation though, right?
(Or can the new translation be added?)
