:argh:
Spiderbots are already the worst enemy and now you've made them partially immune to grenades?!

You're a madman!

I'll crosspost from the vid:

There's plenty options if bots give you trouble: Sabot rounds, spy drone detonation, scrambler grenade, running or sneaking past, thermoptic camo, throw something at them with microfibral muscle, radar transparency, retreat and find an alternate route or appropriate tool, hack a turret to attack them if any are nearby...in addition to explosives, EMP grenades and 10mmAP ammo, or attempting to take them out with normal bullets as you mentioned. Plasma (PS20 or Plasma Rifle) is also more effective vs bots in GMDX than it was vanilla. There's also Energy Shield + Hazmat to protect yourself, plus a perk that prevents movement being stunted when zapped by their electricity arcs (energy shield does this too).

I'm sure there's something I'm forgetting, or something else a creative player can come up with.

Remember that in GMDX demolitions skill increases grenade blast radius considerably too, so for those that are skilled it won't be a problem.
Lastly, bots on the ceiling will be a rare occurrence, and I'm considering making them drop down under certain conditions.

...As a last resort, if it comes down to it, this will be exclusive to hardcore mode, but I really don't think it is a problem, except for melee-only builds. Yet melee only vs bots wasn't a very wise thing to do to begin with, even if it was possible.

Started playing Deus Ex for first time and I am using this mod. Dunno how good it is to use GMDX for a first playthrough, but man, I'm having a blast.

Two downsides I can think of is the time it takes to install the mod and check that it works instead of simply running from scratch (obviously not an obstacle for you), and that mantling increases the instances where you can accidently get stuck on the outside of the map. Minor stuff.

GMDX improves on so many things that I would absolutely recommend people to use it on their first playthrough if they have the patience to mod.

*while remaining faithful to the original design principles. I've also recently scrapped a few things to make the next version more pure.

No problem in taking time for modding. It's was very fast. There is something very satisfactory when a game is modded properly and you can finally play it with all the cool stuff that the said mod do.

I had to install kentie's Deus Exe, hope it's compatible.

All them trendy kids using Revision... pft

Oh, I was getting some text gibberish from time to time, happens very rarely. Could it be the Direct3D 10support from kentie's?

The greatest game deserves the greatest of attentiveness.

This is only four years and counting though. That's moderate in the DX modding world. The total conversions were upwards of 7 years in development.

Looking good, Ash.

After playing Human Revolution, I'm a real fan of ammunition sharing the same inventory space as the rest of the items. Did you completely scrap your idea to extend the inventory and put ammunition as inventory tetris items?

2. The Climb. If the ledge or object is above waist height you will
holster your weapon and perform a climb, which will take notably
longer.
In GMDX mostly anything can be mantled.

will it not imbalance and popamolize gameplay?

Reveal currently morality? That seems highly unfaithful to the original design, which was rather more grey.

The updated maps look pretty good. Some look very neat (secret mj12 base) others I am slightly more dubious about (airfield). Should be good though.

You've always been able to do this kind of thing with boxes and the jump aug though.

Yeah. It's a substantial change that involves changing how ammo works across the board, along with changes to the inventory, and making sure it is all balanced too. Considering that the system works fine as it is (well sort of), I'm not too keen on fucking with it.

It's a way players can track if they are non-lethal or lethal based on kills/KOs, nothing more. But I may just scrap it for being overly gamey and possibly conflicting with dialogue options. It's not like it matters if you go non-lethal once you leave New York anyway, as NPCs lack reactivity to it considerably compared to before.

Popamolize? The mantling is inspired by System Shock 2 & Thief first and foremost.

Imbalance? Balance in GMDX is heavily improved, but yes, mantling does shift things around some, such as opening up many new paths. However, it's nothing that speed enhancement and/or box stacking couldn't already achieve, and gives the stealth player who takes silent running a bit of a hand that is very much needed since speed enhancement has super jumps, while those without it cannot even get up a ledge over two foot high.

Gotta resist stop playing because of the new version announcement...

Damn.

Seriously, I didn't expect that this game will be that good.

Don't stop. DX is highly replayable. You will just want to play it again after next release. Then again after that. It will get to the point where you'll be begging for further updates and I won't be able to contain it.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I just finished my ultra pacifist play with gmdx 8.0. (Almost no takedown, i actually got it until the underwater base, where my patience ran out so i had to knock some people unconscious so i can traverse quicker. ah, also massacre at the ton so i can save Paul)

Maybe psychopath killer with 9.0? Shame some NPCs are immortal till some point.

Also the changelog looks sexy af. You are sexy >:3
