Now the Steam version of San Andreas needs some fixing by downgrading it to an earlier version to restore, among other things, 17 cut songs.

This is the one i used and it's pretty good.

For GTA Vice City I found the 1.1 version on the high seas. I installed it then copied the radio stations from the audio directory to a back up folder. I uninstalled that version then installed the Steam version I got from Eneba. I just copied the back up stations into the audio folder to restore the original music.

After fucking around with the PC port and applying different mods I found that the original 1.40 PS2 release is still the optimal way to experience Vice City. If anyone who is reading this like the GTA series at all and haven't played this version of VC you're missing out on the peak of the series.

I hate PS2's and controllers. That's why I have a PC. ;)

You could always emulate the game to get the extra mouse and keyboard jank. You haven't really played it until you have experienced the original PS2 release of Vice City. Sometimes PC isn't the best platform for a game.

How does this even happen?

Why when I first played it when it came out on the PC? I'm old enough to have seen the beginning of video games and had played some of the best titles over the past 50 years. Just because you liked the PS2 version doesn't mean everyone else does either. You also can't use mods on the PS2 like you can for the PC. I can change all the textures etc... to make things better.

What is good about the game is the cohesion and artistic vision, mods ruin that in the same way the clowns at this remaster studio did. You can enjoy it any way you like, but if you haven't tried the original release you don't know what you are missing. Don't act so foxy about these grapes.

I did play the original PC release. I bought when it first came out on a two pack DVD. Most mods do not change the artistic vision. They fix bugs etc... which you can't do on the PS2. PC Masterrace for the win.

Here's a comparison of the PS2, XBox, Android, and PC.

You make the choice on what looks better. Also, the PC version had higher resolution support. 2003 Standard TVs only had a resolution of 640x480 while your standard 2003 computer monitor was 1280x1024. With the widescreen mod you can play GTA Vice City at 1920x1080. Tell me again which one is superior?

This game is a case study on how to not make a remake(in fact, you should never make a remake) and why you should never employ Indians to make your game.
I remember how those filthy streetshitters raped the corpse of gothic series by making that retarted expansion for gothic 3 called forgotten gods.

Here's the GTA Vice City Definitive Edition Mod as a comparison with the original Steam version. Enjoy.

The piss filter looks really awful, especially during indoor scenes. Everything is constantly drenched in orange and Rosenberg's office looks like David Sarif's. Normal gameplay is also a pain to look at, the contrasts are gone and everything just blends together.

It's not my mod, but I find it alright.

Could've been funny/clever (like the original) if the sign was changed to Round Nut Donuts.

Yea and the Remaster COULD have been good if they hadn't hired pajeets.
You know how this happened? These lazy assholes had every model run through a tool that smoothes out edges. EVERY model.

LOL. No wonder the game runs like crap. That character is probably more polygons than the entire original city map.

If they ever want to ""brag"" about something when it comes to this game they can say "it has the highest polygon count of any game released to this date" and they wouldn't even be lying.

I just realised that big smoke tweet is fake. Doing that would completely break the UVs and Weights so its clearly fake.

Textures seems to be made from scratch, often less detailed despite high resolution, so breaking original UVs doesn't matter, am I wrong ?
