Hobo Elf Question about my nightblade build. Is it pointless to invest in the enemy debuff skill (-Pierce resistance) if my strategy is hit and run. That is, does the debuff even activate if I shadow strike in-whirl of blades and GTFO in lightning speed? I notice that the debuff icon takes some time to appear on enemies.

If you don't see a debuff icon above them when you hit the enemy, they don't have a debuff. Either change your tactic or invest more into Veil of Shadow to increase the range of the debuff, to give more you more time to apply the debuffs. Or slap on Haunted Steels on your weapons for Life leech so you don't have to do hit and run constantly.

So now I have like 2 or 3 dynamite sticks (having killed that Darius guy), I wonder if I should go back to that old sunken carven and finally use some of the dynamite there? I hope it's not full of low level things, because I could not find ANY dynamite until heading over to the left side of the map and clearing the mines there.... :M

That is a high level area actually, I don't know at what level they start at, but you can go check. It's definitely not a low level area though.

It's like the Salazar dungeon but very very brief. Not too bad. But expect enemies to be 5+ lvs above you

I'd hold on to them until you run across something where it is needed "now". You'll have plenty of access to dynamite later. You'll also need dynamite to open some chests with fat loots inside, and it really sucks to come across one without any sticks on hand.

Well poop, I used all 3 dynamite on that place, and have no more, hopefully I will find some more. Tried to finally do that bounty quest that I have access to, but that damn Lab area is lock-up/crash central. I guess I'll never ever get to do those anytime soon... :M

Is it level-scaled, like that cultist lair (basically like 3 levels higher than you)?
It's one of the 'challenge' areas that scale above you, yes, though I think all of normal caps around 60.
And don't worry, you find tons of dynamite.

I first hit that cultist area at lvl 15 and was fighting lvl 21/22 bosses. It must have a base. Got two of them but the potion use was excessive so I balked half way through.

Also does anyone know if it scales from when you enter the first time or is it each time?
It scales each time (mobs+3, bosses +6)

Also I have 16 hours in and I haven't had any locks or crashes. Occasionally I will get a stutter but nothing serious. Are the crashes area specific or have people been having them everywhere. This game seems like it will really suck to randomly crash and then have to fight all the hordes again.

Just beat Steps of Torment (Veteran) on the first try, feels great man. Running a shitty Nightblade build with 1 point in Shadow Strike and full points in the Nightfall modifier. Also have 1 point in each dual wield proc skill, 1 point in Ring of Steel and Ring of Frost for the 3 second stun, and 1 point in Blade Barrier as a panic button. I also had full points in Veil of Shadow. I don't know what the fuck you're supposed to do with devotions so I got Ghoul and Bat for passive lifesteal.

Each hero mini-boss battle room involved tons of kiting as I shadow striked, then used ring of steel before running away like a bitch.

The final boss dropped this fucking amazing scythe with lifesteal and a shadow strike-like ability. So now I'm running around with two shadow strikes teleporting everywhere. The scythe is 2H, but who needs dual wielding when you deal so much fucking damage.

That's the build I'm going for too. If you add Blitz from Soldier, then get Riftstone for Chaos Strike, you'll basically be untouchable methinks. In theory.

Sunken Cavern "secret area" scales up to 40 on normal iirc. So you don't really have to wait until 60 to get the highest item possible from the oneshot chest. Since oneshot chest don't scale with player lvl anymore, it doesn't really hurt to open them when you find them on your normal-run.

Just found a neat secret in Act 3

When you enter the Gryver's Mill, crossing the little bridge from Blood Groove, turn east immediately. There is a little path that takes you under the bridge. Go north and you will find a special items vendor. He sells monster infrequent items for a hefty price. Those items will be needed for relics later

That is cool. I wonder when that was added. I didn't find that back in B28 or so.

He's been there since the release of the area, along with the other secret area nearby.

Shrine of the Forgetten God. It is actually behind the first place where every explorer should look.
I don't remember a place of that name. But it was easy to find it on grim dawn wiki with access to its name :D

What happens when you increase the difficulty. Does the loot and xp gains improve like in diablo or it's just hp bloat and pc stats getting gimped.
